Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble

The horse stables were located a few miles outside of the capital. It was a wide open area with plenty of space for the horses to roam. Since the port was located near this space, there were also many traveling merchants selling uniquely decorated accessories and trinkets. The twins had expected Xue Yue to head towards the stalls, but instead she took their hands and walked straight towards the stables without even glancing at the vendors.

"Xiaoyue, do you want any special breed?" Li Wenmin asked, staring at the various horses present.

"I don't have a preference," Xueyue replied. Her eyes scanned the horses of different colors, sizes, and breeds, but nothing seemed to catch her attention.

Then, Li Wenmin noticed the loud announcer's voice and the crowd gathered in the middle of the racecourse. "It seems there are a lot of people over there, let's go and take a look!" He dragged Xueyue and the reluctant Li Chenyang towards the noisy place.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have captured a very rare horse today! This is one of the best and finest horses we have captured in the past few years!" The announcer stepped aside and held out one arm.

The first thing that greeted people was the thunderous sound of horse hooves. In the distance, a dark shadow was approaching quickly. People held their breath, waiting for the arrival of the horse that was said to be a stallion.

The horse rushed forward at a speed that matched the wind. It had a beautiful midnight coat, the color of the bleak night sky. Its hooves were covered in white, as if it had been stepping on the snow forever.

But one thing that stood out was the sickly features of the horse. The horse was skinny and malnourished, with its ribs clearly visible. The horse's legs were thin and skinny, unfit for any type of labor or work. When the horse accidentally hit the fence that was holding it back, people laughed. The laughter stopped when they realized something.

The horse has a pair of glassy gray eyes, like clouds on a rainy day. It is blind.

Is this a joke? Is this what the announcer was bragging about? Many people scoffed.

The announcer quickly explained the situation, fearing he had lost a large number of viewers. "Uh... the horse went the wrong way." He smiled awkwardly.

He turned and sternly rebuked the stable boy beside him. "Take that good-for-nothing horse back to the stable and give him twenty lashes!" He whispered to the stable boy so that they were the only ones who could hear the conversation.

Everyone and Xueyue didn't notice their conversation at all.

"Y-yes, sir," said the stable-boy, and he laid hold of the blind horse.

Seeing the horseman leading the horse so roughly, Xueyue's lips were pursed into a fine line. The reins were pulled hard, and the blind horse threw its head back. It bit the horse boy's hand, barking and roaring.

There was something startling about the horse, and when Xueyue got closer to take a closer look, her heart sank. There were a lot of marks of whipping and abuse.

This is a neglected, unwanted horse who has probably spent most of his life in captivity, never able to experience the grass beneath his feet or the warm sun on his back.

The stable boy had great difficulty in pulling the horse back to the stable.

It was too late. After being confined in a dark, dirty, disgusting stable for so long, this was the first time the horse had experienced the sweet, soft grass beneath his hooves. He didn't want to go back to the dirty stable.

The announcer noticed the curious looks from the crowd and quickly addressed the issue.

"Don't worry, ladies and gentlemen. There's a fence to our left, and the real champion will come out from there!" The announcer's face was obviously annoyed, but he still tried his best to smile.

As he directed everyone's attention to the star, Xue Yue was the only one who did not look away. Instead, she focused on the black horse that was clearly struggling with the stable boy.

"Wow, Yueyue, look at that horse!" Li Wenmin exclaimed loudly as a white horse ran into the clearing. The horse was very beautiful, with bright fur, like the first snow in winter.

"Do you want to own that horse?" Li Wenmin's eyes never left the majestic white horse. He thought it was perfect for Xueyue. A pure horse, a pure girl.

"I'd love to." Xueyue whispered, but her eyes did not fall on the white horse that everyone seemed to love. Instead, her eyes fell on the blind black horse.

"Perfect! I'll tell the announcer my price!" Li Wenmin took the first step towards the announcer, but Li Chenyang grabbed Li Wenmin and pulled him back.

"She wants another horse." Li Chenyang said softly.

Li Wenmin raised his head in the direction Xueyue was looking.

He frowned. The horse was blind, beaten, and useless. 'What could Xueyue do with such a useless horse? Is it because it is cheaper than white?' he asked himself.

"Xiaoyue, don't worry, we have plenty of money, you don't have to be satisfied with a discounted horse." Li Wenmin said softly.

"I like the other horse," she said firmly. She saw the similarities between herself and the horse. Both were beaten into submission, but the fire in both eyes remained.

"Are you sure...? That horse is blind and can't run well." Li Wenmin asked her hesitantly. He stared at Xueyue, but Xueyue didn't even look at him. When she finally raised her head to look at him, her eyes were wide open and full of desire.

Seeing her puppy face, Li Wenmin's heart tightened. Could this girl be any cuter? At this moment, he knew from the bottom of his heart that he was willing to do anything to please this girl.

"I will grow with this horse, and in return, our loyalty to each other will become stronger," Xue Yue replied, staring at the black horse.

Li Chenyang's lips curled up. She was either extremely stupid or extremely naive, or both. "Loyalty may be important, but secrecy and speed are more important than a simple relationship."

Xueyue shook her head slowly. "Without loyalty, stealth and speed are useless. A horse can easily throw you off, or never show you its best abilities, because it doesn't trust you enough." She whispered, and this sentence took root in Li Chenyang's heart forever.

Li Wenmin sighed at her stubbornness. "Then let's take the horse, Xiaoyue." He nodded to a servant, who immediately walked to the stable boy. The surprised stable boy hurried to the seller and told him the good news. In less than a minute, he came back with the price of the horse.

The whole deal went quickly, almost too quickly. The seller was eager to get rid of this rebellious horse that was of no use to him.

When the stable boy was ready to hand the horse to Xueyue, it refused to move. "Come on, move faster!" the stable boy urged, feeling increasingly embarrassed by his pathetic attempts to control the horse.

The horse neighed, stamped the ground, bit the leather reins, and almost kicked the stable boy.

Xueyue saw the horse boy raised the whip and ran forward quickly. "Don't hurt my horse!" She scolded while cutting the whip and the horse apart.

The stable boy was startled by her appearance and quickly pulled back the whip. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, otherwise he might have committed a terrible crime.

"Give me the reins, I'll lead him myself." Xueyue frowned.

"Yes - right away, ma'am." The groom hastily handed her the reins.

The horse threw its head back and stamped the ground fiercely. Although it could not see anything, its hearing was perfectly normal.

Xueyue noticed that the horse might have developed acute hearing due to surviving only by using its ears.

Just as Xueyue was busy observing the horse, Li Chenyang discovered something surprising. "Xueyue, let go of the reins!" He screamed as the horse raised its front legs.

"It's time to charge!" But it was too late. Before Xueyue could react, the horse rushed forward, faster than thunder.
