"Xueyue?" Li Chenyang called out when he finally found her. Although she was far away, he knew it was her. There was only one person, walking around with a strict guard and servants.

When she turned around at the sound of his voice, Li Chenyang rushed to her side. The guards parted and his shoulders relaxed at the sight of her. When she saw him, a smile broke out on her face and stars twinkled in her eyes.

"You're here." Li Chenyang walked up to him and said. He patted her head affectionately, but then stopped. He didn't want to ruin her appearance.

"What happened?" he asked her with a pleasant smile.

Li Xueyue didn't know whether she should tell him what happened. She had dealt with it accordingly, hadn't she?

Well, she shouldn't have kept it a secret. She didn't want to lie to him.

She clasped her fingers together and said truthfully, "I met Wen Jinkai and a servant of the Second Prince."

Li Chenyang was stunned. He had always known that Wen Jinkai was violent, but he was not the kind of person who would hurt a woman for no reason. "Did this servant do something to you...?"

"She's rude." Li Xueyue frowned. "But there's something very strange about her."

Li Xueyue looked at him. His attention was not in her direction, but elsewhere. She glanced at what he was staring at and found that it was a bunch of flowers, and she opened her lips.

"Hydrangeas are so beautiful." Li Xueyue smiled. "We have them at home. Mom likes to take care of them."

Li Chenyang's expression softened a little. "Yes, hydrangeas are my mother's favorite flowers."

Li Xueyue felt that his words seemed to have a deeper meaning, but she couldn't tell. She wanted to ask about Li Minghua, but she knew it was not something she should ask.

When she got home, Li Xueyue pulled the hairpin out of her hair. She ran her fingers over the petals of the clustered flowers. It did look like a hydrangea, but her hairpin wasn’t meant to imitate the large flower.

"Hydrangea..." She trailed off, feeling that this beautiful flower held some kind of meaning.

This was given to her by Yu Zhen. Does the Second Prince know about this? Is this why he is asking this?

Li Xueyue sighed. This was one of the gifts he bought for her when he saw her interest while shopping in the market. She had wanted to give it to the Duchess, but seeing that it was worn out now, there was no need.

"Mom likes hydrangeas." Li Xueyue whispered to herself as the servant began to untie her complicated hair.

Li Xueyue saw the gaze of a servant through the mirror. "Do you know why the Duchess likes hydrangeas so much?"

The servant had not expected to ask this question. "P-Please excuse me, miss?"

Li Xueyue hummed. "How long have you been working here?"

"Less than three years, miss."

Li Xueyue stuffed the hairpin into the drawer. There was no need to think so much. Maybe her mother liked hydrangea because of its charming colors.

Li Xueyue found that she never took it with her. It was always safe in her drawer.

Yu Zhen didn't even reach out to her. It had been several days since she last saw him.

Li Xueyue's fingers gripped the pendant firmly, holding it to her side. She wondered if he was still out there, in that forest, doing what she was supposed to do, but no.

This was her revenge. But he did it for her. She was the one who killed the Viscount. But he ruined the satisfaction. It was because they left her in Wuyi.

Li Xueyue sighed again and shook her head. She wanted to know what was going on in his mind at a time like this.
