Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 220 Please
When Lu Tianbi was about to reach her sleeping tent, she saw a figure walking out of the forest. She quickened her pace and soon approached her commander.
"Yu Zhen." she called.
Yu Zhen paused and turned to look at her.
"You have to take her home," she said. "Her parents have probably sent people to look for her. It won't be long before Li Wei finds us here."
Yu Zhen did not answer.
Lu Tianbi was stunned when he saw Xiaojuzi right next to his commander's legs. Xiaojuzi opened his mouth and yawned loudly. Yu Zhen patted his tiger gently.
"Please tell me you don't intend to kidnap her back to Han Jian. It will only make things worse. Her parents will never support you. And her brothers, I know they will make a fuss to get her back."
"I won't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do." Yu Zhen said in a deep voice.
Lu Tianbi sighed at her stubborn commander. "How long do you plan to keep her here? I heard that you showed her the tent today, but I guess you didn't show her the people inside. She still doesn't know anything."
"It's getting late, you should go to bed, or just stay with Hu Dengxiao."
When Hu Dengxiao was mentioned, Lu Tianbi's face turned red. The male soldiers slept on the other side of the camp. "Stop teasing me."
"I'm not."
"Well, I'm going to bed." Lu Tianbi frowned. "I hate to say this, but as your advisor, I think it's best to send the princess home first thing in the morning."
"Then she won't come to open my presents."
Lu Tianbi trembled. "She is innocent and doesn't know cruelty. Do you really want to corrupt her eyes?"
Lu Tianbi used her elbows to shield herself from the cold. "Once you show her what you did to them, there will be no turning back. Your bloodthirsty nature will be exposed to her. Things will be different."
"Think before you do it." Lu Tianbi chattered, "I know I sound like an annoying sister, but as your friend, I don't want to see you lose her. The princess makes you happy, and you smile sincerely when you are with her."
"She'd better know," he said finally.
Lu Tianbi sighed. He was right. It was. Sooner or later, Li Xueyue would find out that the patient man she fell in love with was not who he pretended to be. Yu Zhen was ruthless and brutal.
"But, Commander, why do you look so reluctant?" Lu Tianbi whispered. "I know you want to hide her in the dark forever. You don't want to corrupt her, do you?"
Yu Zhen remained silent. He simply glanced up at the night sky, admiring the stars that reminded him of her hopeful eyes. He had never seen anything more adorable than hers.
Yu Zhen wanted Li Xueyue to be safe and sound without any worries. He wanted her to live a happy, luxurious and comfortable life. He never wanted her to witness the terrible things in life.
"Your silence is my answer." Lu Tianbi seemed to be thinking about something. "Think about it, okay? Especially about sending her home early tomorrow morning. We don't want to have any grudges with the Prime Minister of Wuyi."
"Good night," Yu Zhen said. He turned and left with Xiaojuzi.
Lu Tianbi watched Yu Zhen bring Xiaojuzi to a sleeping place near his tent. She sighed. "What a terrible pet, I'm surprised he could hide him in the guest palace for so long."
She frowned. "I don't even know where he's hiding. How despicable. I wonder if the palace servants asked him why he wanted raw meat."
Lu Tianbi crossed his arms. "I'm glad no one in Wuyi found this pet. It would be terrible if they did."
With a long sigh, she decided to retreat to her tent. This pet was none of her business, and she knew that Yu Zhen had brought it because no one else in Han could take care of the tiger.
Yu Zhen patted Xiaojuzi for the last time, and watched the tiger stretch and lie down comfortably on the ground. He put one paw on top of the other, rested his head on it, and shook his tail.
"Have a good sleep." Yu Zhen muttered.
Little Orange ignored him.
Yu Zhen walked into the tent, half expecting to see her awake. She wasn’t. He squinted at the empty bed. He immediately checked his own tent, looking for any spot where she might have slept.
Yu Zhen saw her curled up in the chair, her brows furrowed deeply. She must be very uncomfortable. He was surprised that she hadn't turned over yet.
"Okay, whatever you say." Yu Zhen said coldly.
Yu Zhen should have gone back to bed, but he decided to sleep a little longer. The knife couldn't clean itself. He approached the table and dipped his handkerchief into a bowl of water beside him.
"I should have used the tools on the table instead of these daggers." Yu Zhen said to himself.
One of the daggers was missing.
Yu Zhen already knew who had taken it. I guess that made them even. They were both thieves now. Only, he stole the decree for her benefit, not his.
Yu Zhen couldn't help himself. He walked over to Li Xueyue who was still sleeping. Her brows were furrowed and her face was ugly. Was she experiencing a nightmare?
Fear filled him. He didn't like that. He didn't want to see her in pain.
Yu Zhen squatted down to her height. He reached out and smoothed the wrinkles on her forehead. Just then, he noticed a tear sliding down her face.
"I don't……"
Yu Zhen blinked. What did she say?
"...do...no..."
What didn't she do?
Yu Zhen leaned in to listen, but that was all she said. Nothing else.
Yu Zhen sighed heavily. He really should have left her in the chair. He should have.
"I still hate you." Yu Zhen picked her up effortlessly and whispered. "You make me very annoyed. I always feel depressed around you."
Yu Zhen put her on the bed. He took off her shoes and placed them at the foot of the bed.
"I should have thrown you out to bed," he said through gritted teeth. "Then why on earth would I do that?" he asked sternly despite the contradiction of his actions.
Yu Zhen pulled the covers up to her chin and then pulled the blanket over her. He gently placed her head on the pillow, making sure she wouldn't wake up because of the sore neck.
Yu Zhen frowned when he saw her face getting worse. She made a face. Another tear fell from the corner of her eye.
"What's wrong?" He sat on the bed and asked helplessly. Gently, he wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Don't cry," he whispered. "This hurts."
Yu Zhen took her hand affectionately and squeezed it, hoping it would bring her comfort.
"I don't……"
he whispered, bending down to listen to her carefully.
"Kill her..."
Yu Zhen's body stiffened. What did she just say?
"Please!" she shouted.
Yu Zhen almost jumped up. He didn't expect her to raise her voice. Suddenly, she kicked the blanket away and struggled to pull her hand back.
Yu Zhen immediately let go of her, his face furious. It was time to visit the people in the tent again. He stood up, ready to leave, but then he felt it. There was a tiny weight on his sleeve.
Yu Zhen glanced at his fingers. It only took two of them to block him. “You can’t do this to me again,” he whispered in pain. “It’s not fair.”
"Don't come back to me, my heart will find reasons to forgive you." Yu Zhen muttered. He slowly loosened her fingers and tucked her arm into the blanket.
"Sleep well, Sunshine," he whispered softly, giving her a final pat on the forehead.
Yu Zhen walked towards the tent. He didn’t even have to button his clothes if he didn’t want to. Xiaojuzi was just outside, and his hearing was very sharp. Anyone who approached the tent would be bitten.
Yu Zhen decided that if he couldn't sleep, then the prisoners didn't need to sleep either. He had already put one foot out the door when he heard the sound - a sound so sweet and heartbreaking that he closed his eyes.
"Yu Zhen..."
He paused. Slowly, he turned around. She was still fast asleep.
Yu Zhen knew he would regret letting her back into his heart. He knew she would hurt him again.
There were so many things he shouldn't have done.
For the sake of his own heart and future, Yu Zhen should walk out of this tent. He should go to Han Jian, not He Chen. He shouldn’t steal the royal decree. But he had to do it. He needed her.
Just as Lu Tianbi said. She made him happy, which was the happiest thing he had felt in a long time.
Yu Zhen cursed himself for seeing a ghost and walked back because he found himself walking towards her.
"Yangguang, I'm here," Yu Zhen whispered, holding her hand. Her expression relaxed. Just like that, he found himself falling in love with her, faster than before.
