The next morning, when the sun rose and a new dawn began, an uninvited guest appeared in the Li family manor.

Li Xueyue had just finished breakfast when she received the news from the visitor.

“Ning Huabing?” Duchess Wang Qixing was surprised by her visit. “Isn’t that the daughter of Ning Hou?”

Lord Li Chenyang nodded. “He is an outstanding member of the court.”

"Well, I don't see any reason for her to wait outside, let her in." Duchess Wang Qixing ordered the servant.

Duchess Wang Qixing glanced at her aloof son who was reading a book at the breakfast table, even though she had clearly told him not to read at this time.

Li Chenyang could feel his mother's pressing gaze. "I'm still too young to get married." These were the only words he said as he turned to another page.

Li Chenyang covered his face and shook his head. Could his silly brother be any more silly? He glanced in Xueyue's direction and found that her smile had slipped a little, looking too forced and awkward.

Li Wenmin, however, was unaware of anything. "Are you here to see my brother?" he asked, nodding toward his twin brother. "He's single. I understand if you're scared by his cool exterior and 'know-it-all' attitude, but I promise he's fine!"

Li Chenyang almost dropped the book on his brother's head. What on earth is this idiot talking about?

Li Wenmin flashed a cheeky smile in Chen Yang's direction. He knew how much matchmaking bothered his brother. "See that look in his eyes? If you impress him, his eyes will soften."

Ning Huabing was stunned. She opened her mouth and closed it again, but couldn't utter a word. Finally, she became flustered and her face turned red.

“Look what you did to the poor thing.” Li Wenmin snorted. “That’s why you’ll be single your whole life. You should at least give her a smile.”

“If you don’t shut up,” Li Chenyang whispered, “I will make sure you wake up deep in a forest filled with bugs and honey.”

"Pfft, the person who sleeps the deepest in this house is you, not me." Li Wenmin whispered, "I'm a light sleeper, so good luck kidnapping me!"

Duchess Wang Qixing ignored her quarreling sons. "Miss Ning, what do you want to do with us?"

"Mrs. Li, I'm sorry to bother you so early in the morning." Ning Huabing said. "But I want to see Xueyue alone, is that okay with you?"

"Oh..." Duchess Wang Qixing slumped her shoulders in disappointment. "In that case, I can escort you to the nearest living room."
