Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble

Chapter 189 The Manipulator and the Thief

Li Xueyue tripped over a book and grabbed one of the bookshelves in horror. What did he just say?

Suddenly, she turned around, her eyes fixed on the door. The unconscious guard, the missing decree. Someone broke into the library. There was only one person in her mind, the man who was present when she asked to go to the library to see Li Chenyang-Yu Zhen.

Li Xueyue's gaze involuntarily turned to the window. The sun was already setting and dusk was approaching, but there was still light.

"These decrees cannot be replaced. It is difficult to stamp them." Li Chenyang groaned, grabbing his hair, annoyed. "It will take some time before I can put the proposal on the emperor's desk again."

"How long until the sun sets?"

"what?"

"How long until evening?"

Li Chenyang looked out the window. "I'd say we won't take more than an hour."

“That’s what I need.” Without waiting for his reaction, Li Xueyue trotted out of the room, her blood boiling with anger at Yu Zhen’s boldness. Is he really that stingy? Is this his way of losing his temper? Knock down all the guards and steal the most critical part of her plan?

Li Xueyue refused to give in to him. If he was really so cruel, then no matter what feelings she had for him, she would no longer have any mercy on him. This plan to destroy the Bai family was what she wanted to do.

Revenge for the little girl who was locked in her room, starving and dehydrated.

To avenge a young girl who was attacked the same night she wanted food.

In order to free herself from the past, she will bring destruction to the people who destroyed her in the first place.

"Xueyue, where are you going?!" Li Chenyang shouted and jumped out of the door, only to see her disappear in the corridor.

Li Xueyue had started this mess, so she was here to put an end to it. She would get the decree back no matter what the cost. She fell into deep thought, not knowing where she was running to until she bumped into someone roughly.

“Ouch!” Li Wenmin rubbed his chest and muttered in pain. Was there a bull that hit him? He looked down and saw that it was none other than his Xiaoyue. Of course her head hurt his chest, she was so stubborn!

"Xiaoyue, why are you running? What's the matter?" Li Wenmin looked around. In the distance, he heard a rush of footsteps approaching them.

"Oh, did you run away from Chenyang? He's so scary when he's angry." Li Wenmin nodded in agreement. "It's okay, Xiaoyue, I'll help you run and hide! I know the best place--"

“Stop there!” Li Chenyang yelled as he turned the corner. He was a little out of breath because exercise had never been his forte.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked.

"Well, uh, actually I wanted to take her to a hiding place." Li Wenmin scratched the back of his head in confusion. "I, Chenyang, if you are angry with her, don't scold her too harshly. Our Xiaoyue is a sensitive person, and-"

"I'm not asking you." Li Chenyang snorted in frustration. He pointed at Xueyue and repeated, "Where do you think you're going?"

"Go to the palace."

"For what?" Li Wenmin asked, and Li Chenyang shouted, "Are you a fool?!"

Li Wenmin tilted his head, completely confused by what was happening.

"Alas, it's all your fault, Wenmin!" Li Chenyang snorted.

"Me?!" Li Wenmin screamed, "What on earth did I do?!"

"Your stupidity is affecting us Xueyue!"

“Uh, how do you know she wasn’t stupid from the beginning?!” Li Wenmin rolled his eyes and snorted coldly. “She always loses to us in Go, which shows that her strategy is terrible. Moreover, she is only smart in books, so she doesn’t know how to apply things to reality.”

"Yeah, if you taught her some strategies, maybe she wouldn't be so stupid now."

"Well, you know I'm standing here. Right?" Li Xueyue crossed her arms and frowned. She tapped the floor with her foot impatiently.

"Hey, do you think this kid is okay?" Li Wenmin pinched her cheek and teased. "Xiaoyue is really cute like a kitten when she's angry."

Li Xueyue's fingertips twitched. She wanted to hit him.

"Chenyang, don't you think it's cute? Hehehe, I bet she must feel like a tiger - ouch!" He sobbed, holding his legs, jumping up and down in pain. "Chenyang, look at the terrible effect you have on her! She just kicked me."

Li Chenyang rolled his eyes and snorted. "You deserve it."

Li Wenmin snorted, unable to bear it any longer, and stretched his chin in the opposite direction of the brother and sister. These idiots will appreciate his intelligence sooner or later! Soon!

"It's fun to insult each other." Li Xueyue waved her hand and said, "I have a palace to run." She turned around and prepared to run away. Unfortunately, her collar was grabbed, stopping her in her tracks.

"Oh, no, you're not." Li Chenyang frowned and pulled her back to him. "Are you crazy? What are you doing in the palace so late at night?"

"I know who issued the decree."

"You do it?" Li Chenyang followed Li Wenmin's words and asked, "What decree?"

Li Chenyang ignored his brother. "Well, who took it?"

"It must be Y—" She paused, her eyes glancing at Li Wenmin, and then said, "I think it's...that..." She trailed off, struggling to call Yu Zhen by this terrible nickname. "The rat."

"Oh." Li Chenyang breathed a sigh of relief, but his body tensed up instantly. "What?!" he hissed. "What do you mean by the mouse took it? How? When did it take it?"

"That probably happened when I was... you know... having a breakdown in the hallway."

"Uh, you broke the hallway?" Li Wenmin asked, scratching the back of his head. "Which part? How?"

“Oh my god, I still can’t believe you’re our country’s chief strategist.” Li Chenyang frowned and shook his head. “It’s like you left your brain at a training camp or something.”

“In fact, I do.” Li Wenmin nodded happily. “It’s to protect my intelligence so that I don’t waste time thinking about stupid things.”

"Then don't you think about yourself?" Li Chenyang thought.

"No, that way I won't miss you."

"Yes, yes, Li Xueyue will stop here!" Li Chenyang asked when he saw her almost slipping away again. "Why do you want to go to the palace so much? It's full of pests that we need you to stay away from."

"I knew he wouldn't give it back unless I asked for it personally."

Li Chenyang hated how right she was. If he was lucky, Yu Zhen might pay him a visit. But the Second Prince had no obligation to care about people of lower status than him—even foreign ministers.

"Tomorrow morning, I will ask him to return it. Whether I break into the guest palace or not, I will get the imperial edict. Xueyue, don't worry, you have confidence in me."

Li Wenmin glanced at Li Chenyang's slender figure, which was only developed by riding horses and occasional archery, sword fighting and other sports. "No offense, brother, but I don't think you can get past the elite soldiers guarding Yu Zhen's residence."

"Thank you for the morale support, I really appreciate it." Li Chenyang crossed his arms and sneered. "Do you have a better plan? Because if not, then keep your ideas to yourself."

"Actually, I am willing to do so," Li Wenmin said, "but in return, you must tell me what happened."

"I won't tell you everything. You just need to know that Yu Zhen took away the imperial edict that I worked so hard to obtain. So, my slightly smarter brother, how do you suggest we get our things back?"

Li Wenmin was puzzled. Why would Yuzhen take something like the imperial edict? What was so important about it?

"Then I will accompany Xueyue to the palace tomorrow? I will hide her and not let anyone get close to her."

Li Chenyang shook his head. "No, Xueyue can't enter the palace. If Uncle Wang and Aunt Wang find out that there is news and she is in their territory, she will not leave safely."

“Well, you also know that Yu Zhen will not be willing to give it back to us, and he will not give you an audience, by the way, it is too bold for him to refuse Li.” Li Wenmin frowned. “Mother is very kind and always invites him to visit our house, but this is not the point.”

"No." Li Chenyang agreed.

"Oh, shut up, I'm trying to help." Li Wenmin frowned. "You won't be able to escort Xueyue around tomorrow because you're busy with palace affairs, but I can. Tomorrow is my day off, and I'll get her in and out of the palace within the hour. With me and this trusty sword by my side, I'll threaten anyone who stands in our way."

Li Chenyang sighed. "You know she's in danger in the palace."

"Yes, but you also know that I will never let Xiaoyue get hurt. Protecting her is my top priority." Li Wenmin said. "If that idiot is as stubborn as you think, then the only plan with the highest chance of success is this one."

"And you, Xiaoyue." Li Wenmin frowned, "Why do you always pick bad guys? One is a trader, and the other is a thief." He snorted and shook his head in disappointment. "I should introduce you to Wen Qihong."
