Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 110 He Will Be Jealous
Li Xueyue didn't want to give him the right answer now. If she asked him to wait, she was afraid of losing him, but if she gave in easily, everything would happen too fast. Sticking to her decision was the best choice. In Wuyi, she still had things to deal with first.
Li Xueyue's eyes were full of determination and sincere piety. "I need more time to think about this."
Li Xueyue held her breath, waiting for his answer. How would he react? Was he as impatient as she was? Would he make unfair demands on her? Would it be more beneficial to return to Hanjian and find another beautiful woman who would not spend too much time thinking?
Yu Zhen studied her face—the terrible frown, the tightly pursed lips, the anxious eyes.
His smile grew more friendly. "I expected a rejection."
She blinked. "What?"
"I'll let you weigh your options, Sunshine. But I must warn you, I'm an impatient man." He dropped his hands and simply played with the small floral decorations on the ribbon at her back, twirling and weaving them with his fingers as he pleased.
"How long can you stay in Wuyi?"
"How long do you want me to take?" Yu Zhen heard the uncertainty in her voice.
What was she still hesitating about? Did she think he would leave her in Wuyi to bear her fate alone? Now that he was sure she was considering the possibility of becoming his woman, he was determined to make sure she did so. He would not let her go now.
"It's up to you."
“I’m not sure,” Yu Zhen answered truthfully. “I never gave my father a proper answer. He never bothered to ask in the first place.”
"Is your behavior in Hanjiang different from that in Wuyi?" she asked suddenly, wanting to know more about him.
"I have more duties in Hanjian, reputation to uphold," he told her vaguely, then nodded in the direction of the horse. "Let's not keep the merchant waiting, shall we?"
Li Xueyue bit her lower lip and stared at her fiercely. "Xueyue--" he warned her, but she didn't understand and tilted her head.
He thought she would run off with his horse and leave him stranded here. He knew she was a complete liar.
She was confused by his tone. "I was thinking of using my own horse."
Yu Zhen cleared his throat, pulled at his collar, and realized that he had already pooped enough today.
"I wonder where you learned to get on a horse so quickly."
“He’s awesome.”
"Him?" Yu Zhen repeated, and the warmth in his eyes disappeared instantly.
"Who?" Yu Zhen asked in a low voice with a dangerous smile on his face.
"You'll see him today."
"I'd like to have some time alone with him," he suggested.
"What for?" she asked, confused by his sudden change in behavior.
His smile widened, but never reached his eyes. He would surely kill with a smile. Why did he look like a man who enjoyed giving false hope to his enemies?
"Just to talk."
"He doesn't like talking to strangers," she replied.
"You certainly know him well."
"Of course I do. It's been two years." She wondered what had caused this reaction in him. She could feel the temperature drop, the darkness emanating from his soul.
"Well, don't keep him waiting then."
"Then you have to let me go."
“Why?” He frowned. “He should have seen us in this position.”
"He'll be jealous."
Yu Zhen listened to her words, and her eyes became sharp. What kind of friend would be jealous? Of course, no matter what man she was talking about, it was very likely that he loved her, but she was too stupid to see it.
"Besides, we can't walk like this," she said, gesturing to where they were, with one of his hands on her face and the other around her waist.
“I’m sure we can make it work.”
"Be serious!" she said angrily.
"I'm."
Li Xueyue rolled her eyes. Uh, men. "Then do it."
He responded by pulling her closer to him, their chests pressed together. He smiled provocatively and teased, "That's it?"
"Yu Zhen!"
"Really, Sunshine?"
"You're getting on my nerves."
"Oh, Sunshine, you're going to hurt my feelings."
"First of all, do you have one?" she retorted, unknowingly poking him where he shouldn't.
Yu Zhen looked confused. "For you, yes."
"what?"
"Never mind. Let's go to the market now," he said simply.
"I've been suggesting that. The sun will be setting while we're talking here," she retorted, rolling her eyes when he smirked in satisfaction.
"Talking? That sounds like flirting."
"In your dreams."
"I'll pray about that." He blinked and finally pulled them apart, wrapping his arms loosely around her and squeezing her hip with one hand.
No one here saw how possessive he was of her, so he took the opportunity to place his hands on her hips. It felt oddly comforting… as if no one in this world could take her away from him. Who would dare to take what belonged to him? If they took her away from him, no one would leave this empire alive. Not even Wen Jinkai.
"Wait a minute, you stand here, I'll be right back!" She didn't give him a chance to react, and ran back home. He stood there, surprised to find that she had left him like this.
Minutes passed and he thought she had abandoned him. Did he stand up? He scratched the back of his neck as he considered going home. Did she run away?
His suspicions were dispelled when he felt the ground hum. The sound was barely there, but he heard it clearly. His hand flew to his sword and his body was in a posture ready for battle. A powerful force was approaching him quickly, and the rippling sound made his senses even stronger.
Any moment… His eyes widened in disbelief as he saw a whirlwind of black and green.
He just blinked, and there she was. Proud and beautiful, riding on a muscular, midnight-colored horse. All she needed was a suit of armor and a great sword to complete the image of a respectable female warrior - one who was not so popular in Wuyi, but who was not so prejudiced by the people of Hanjiang.
"So," he sighed, unable to get the picture perfect out of his mind.
His long hair fluttered in the wind, the sun shone on his shoulders, everything was beyond his imagination.
"After you," he said, motioning for her to take the lead, a fascinated look on his face.
He had never seen this side of her before. From that moment on, he knew that he was determined to uncover everything about her.
Li Xueyue just smiled down at him with a smile.
"Would you like an autograph?" she teased, but Black Moon snorted. If he could roll his eyes, he would. It was as if he was saying, "Give the poor lad some love, right?"
Yu Zhen blinked back to reality and examined himself.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Looking for parchment and a quill."
"You're being so dramatic," she huffed, trying to wipe the smile off her face, but she couldn't.
"I'm glad you know that."
Black Moon stamped the ground impatiently and strode back and forth, tired of their flirting.
Li Xueyue watched his reaction and smiled, leaning down to pat the side of his head. When her hand first touched his, he pushed in roughly, wanting more than a small caress. "Meet Heiyue. He's my favorite."
"Him?" Yu Zhen's eyes widened, and he repeated in disbelief. This... he has been jealous, no, angry because of a horse? !
