Chapter 20 Potions Class
"Those Gryffindors are so annoying, why are they everywhere?" Pansy, who had just returned to the cellar, complained.
Alicia, who was standing by, nodded silently in her heart, expressing her deep agreement.
That's right, they have to get involved in everything that happens in Hogwarts.
Draco, who was walking in the front, still looked worried. Seeing this, Pansy came up to him and comforted him, "Potter was breaking the rules. Next year, you will show him what a real seeker is. I believe in you."
The boy was a little impatient. He looked up, responded perfunctorily, and walked into the Potions classroom. Professor Snape had not arrived yet, so he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, intending to rest for a while before class.
A few of them were very observant and stopped talking. Some took out their textbooks to review, or checked the homework assigned in the previous class.
Alicia took a deep breath and seemed to be adjusting her mood. Some Gryffindor students were gradually coming in, and she didn't want to be angered again when she saw Potter and the others.
Theodore, who was sitting on her left, suddenly took out a piece of parchment with a question that only fourth graders would learn. He pushed the book in front of Alicia and asked in a low voice, "There are three ways to process this kind of potion, and I have only found two of them. Xia, could you please tell me what the last method is?"
I had been planning to ask her again in the lounge after class, but Alicia happened to be in a bad mood at the moment, so I might as well find something to distract her.
This method was indeed very useful. The girl quickly entered the state of answering the question. She explained in detail the last way and principle of processing the medicinal materials, and gave an example of another medicinal material that could be processed in this way.
She tore off a page from her notebook, wrote down the key points of the question, and then handed it to the boy.
"Thank you, Thea, you always help me a lot. If it weren't for you, I would have to spend three days and three nights in the library looking up information." Theodore took the paper and put it in the textbook, looking at the girl seriously while not forgetting to tease himself.
Alicia smiled, thinking that he was just being polite. "It's okay. It's really hard to find. I only found it after looking through Professor Snape's collection of books."
As they were talking, Gryffindor students arrived one after another. Ron looked a little embarrassed and annoyed. He muttered something under his breath. Draco, who had just opened his eyes, didn't hear clearly, but that didn't stop him from glaring at Weasley.
It was at this time that Snape walked into the classroom. He walked to the podium without looking around and began to assign the task for this class - the production of intelligence-enhancing agents. He had already explained its production points and uses in the previous class.
Crushed scarab beetle, chopped ginger root, armadillo bile.
Alicia went over the formula of the intelligence-enhancing potion in her mind, and then began to process the potion materials.
"This bug is so disgusting. I can spit my breakfast into the cauldron in the next second!" Ron kept wiping the scarab juice that splashed on his face, saying with disgust.
A hint of disgust appeared in the girl's eyes. Fortunately, she sat in the front row so she wouldn't be too close to Weasley who disrespected potions.
She quickly came back to her senses and immersed herself in making the potion, as if she was creating some world-class treasure.
The three people in the first row didn't seem to like cooperating with others. Theodore, Alicia, and Draco all completed their class assignments on their own. Professor Snape had no objection to this and could even be said to be happy to see it happen.
Alicia finally added the ginger juice, took out her magic wand and started stirring. Three minutes later, a pot of perfect intelligence-enhancing agent was ready.
She poured the potion into the test tube and breathed a sigh of relief at the beautiful silver-gray color.
I have a sure pass for this class assignment.
"Oh!"
Just as the girl was confidently admiring the potion she had made, a loud explosion was heard from behind her.
Everyone stopped what they were doing at the same time and looked to the right side of the classroom - something had happened to Neville Longbottom and Seamus Finnigan's group.
Snape gritted his teeth and walked over to the two of them. He waved his wand and used a magic spell to clean them up. "I'm assuming your eyes aren't covered with armadillo bile. Could it be that one of you ate page 35 of the textbook for breakfast? Ten points deducted from Gryffindor!"
"And you, Potter, why didn't you remind them? Are you pleased with yourself when your classmates make mistakes? Gryffindor will deduct another ten points!"
Harry looked at Snape with resentment, but said nothing. His experience of rebelling in previous classes told him that talking back would only deduct more points for the college.
Hermione gasped, as if she was heartbroken for the lost ruby. She turned around quickly and turned Ron's head back - there couldn't be any mistakes with their intelligence enhancing agent, and they absolutely couldn't give Professor Snape another chance to deduct points!
Snape looked very angry. He hated idiots the most in his life, especially idiots from Gryffindor!
He walked straight to the first row and stood in front of Alicia. After observing the finished potions of the three people, his expression eased a little. "Not bad, fifteen points for Slytherin. If you can all be as focused as Miss Malfoy, there will be no puzzling accidents."
He directed the last sentence to the people at Longbottom's table.
Alicia didn't show it on her face, but she was very happy in her heart because of this compliment. Although the godfather never hesitated to encourage and praise her, public praise always made people happy.
Snape's mood also improved a lot. Every time he was angry with Gryffindor, the presence of Malfoy and Nott always let him know that this classroom was not full of little monsters. Especially Alicia, these potions were a piece of cake for her. Of course, he selectively ignored Granger.
Ron looked up only after he saw Professor Snape walk away. He muttered in dissatisfaction, "Damn old bat, Harry, he's really targeting you. He really wants to fill his office with scarabs."
Harry was also very angry. He didn't understand what he had done wrong and why Snape criticized him again and again.
This time, Hermione did not correct Ron's way of addressing her, perhaps because she was busy stirring the potion, or perhaps because losing twenty points in just one class was a big blow to her.
The situation of differential treatment in Potions class has continued since the beginning of the school year. Hermione couldn't imagine how many gems her house would be deducted if it continued like this.
No matter what, she couldn't let Snape pick on her classwork!
