Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy

Chapter 61 Draco's Lies, Truth, and Confession (Part )

The goblin gradually woke up from the Imperius Curse and looked around. The expression on his face gradually changed from emptiness to confusion, and then from confusion to hostility.

The furrowed brows and the fingers clenched tightly into the palms all showed the goblin's anger.

The other goblins in the workshop were still confused about what was happening, but when they saw Draco emerge from the Disillusionment Charm, the craftsmen quickly realized that the person standing in front of them was a wizard.

Wizards - a group that prevents goblins from obtaining wands and from joining important meetings and organizations in the wizarding world. Under the gaze of goblins throughout the dungeon, Draco didn't know if it was his illusion, but he felt the air around him begin to get hot.

"You despicable intruder, shameless thief, what treasure of the goblin have you set your eyes on?" The goblin narrowed his eyes and raised a hand to point at Draco. "What do you want to do? Even if you have a wand, my companions and I can subdue you here. Do you want to be thrown into the smelting furnace or smashed to pieces by a hammer? There are no wizard companions in the dungeon who can save you."

The artisan goblins around seemed to gradually understand what was happening. Ever since the security of Gringotts was severely criticized by wizards, the hatred towards wizards among the goblins had increased a bit - after all, it was wizards who broke the rules and broke into the place to rob, but it was the goblins who were ultimately condemned. In addition to the huge cost of repairing Gringotts and the decline in its reputation and status among other magical creatures, what they could not tolerate the most was the decline in the goblins' voice in the wizarding financial system.

"Go to hell." The goblin raised a finger.

Draco looked directly at the goblins with an extremely majestic expression, and took out his wand and pointed it at his throat: "Loud voice."

With the help of the amplification spell, Draco's words echoed in every corner of the dungeon's top floor. "I am a friend of the Muggle Parliament Whip, and Andre's partner. I am here at his request."

"Lies!" The goblin interrupted Draco impatiently. But hearing Andre's name still made its eyebrows twitch. "How can the top Muggle politicians be partners with wizards?"

"If goblins can cooperate with these Muggle politicians, why can't a wizard?" Draco answered slowly. "He told me. He even told me about this dungeon."

"Impossible." The goblin was furious. "We have already told him that this is a one-on-one cooperation with him. It is impossible for him to publicize his intention to overthrow the Muggle Prime Minister."

"You can never trust what a wizard says." Suddenly a leprechaun came over from the side, holding a thin metal cabinet and a shiny instrument in his hands.

Draco quickly recognized what they were - truth detectors and lie detectors, instruments commonly used in the security system of the Gringotts vault door.

"As long as you lie, the lie detector will flash red and vibrate continuously." The goblin sneered, "Do you still want to insist on quibbling?"

Draco stared at the instrument and said loudly with a blank expression: "I know a politician in the Muggle Parliament. His position is the whip. His name is Andre. He took the initiative to invite me to meet with him this week."

During the emotionless statement, the lie detector did not react at all.

The goblin's expression softened a little. "Okay, okay. But perhaps you are a member of the Ministry of Magic's staff assigned to the Muggle government?"

Draco raised the corners of his mouth and continued in a statement without any emotion, "I used to be a Death Eater under the Dark Lord. Of course I won't join such an upright Ministry of Magic - I don't want to, and they won't want me." Draco rolled up his sleeves, revealing the Dark Mark on his white arm.

The goblin was skeptical, but it was clear that the lie detector had no reaction. "Why would you team up with the Muggles that the Dark Lord once despised the most?"

"In my heart, the interests of my family always come first. As long as I can keep everything my family has, it doesn't matter who the other party is. It doesn't matter to me who the Minister of Magic is or who the Muggle Prime Minister is."

The goblin took the still unresponsive detector and twisted it, as if suspecting that it was broken. There seemed to be a commotion underground, and the roar of dragons began to rise and fall.

The air seemed to get a little warmer, and the ground beneath my feet was shaking slightly. Through the semi-transparent white windows of the workshop, I could see the fish outside seeming to flee in panic.

"I can help you tell a simple lie." Draco rolled his eyes, "I'm not a wizard."

The detector immediately sounded, and a red light flashed at the bottom, as if eager to prove its sensitivity.

The fairy's expression had softened, but she was still hesitant and unwilling to give in. "Give me a reason to believe you."

The door leading to the slaughterhouse on the second underground floor was suddenly opened, and several fairies covered in green blood ran over in panic: "There's a fire. The fire dragons that have taken drugs shouldn't be able to spit fire. At most, they will emit smoke. They are out of control now. What should we do? It's hard for us to control these dragons after the chains are broken."

After hearing this, Draco simply picked up the lie detector and put it to his lips: "I didn't come here to steal the goblins' treasures, I came to find my own treasures." A few wisps of black smoke began to spread to the top floor workshop. Draco took long steps and ran towards the smoke. He turned back and said to the goblin fiercely, "I'm tired of your questions. It's rude to ask again. If you behave better now, I can say a few good words for you in front of Andre - since the cooperation between goblins and Muggles is still continuing."

Draco rushed into the black smoke, and after the winding staircase, a slaughterhouse filled with strange shapes came into view. The smell of blood, smoke, and the stench of the dragon's corpse forced Draco to cover his nose.

The huge dragon's skeleton was cut into pieces by sharp blades and ground into powder. The shiny fragments of dragon scales piled up into a small hill on one side, and on the other side were several dragon horns of various shapes and bright colors. Of course, there was also a whole piece of dragon skin hanging high up. However, the goblins in the slaughterhouse had obviously fled in panic. What scared them was certainly not the flames and smoke, but the increasingly louder sounds of collisions, roars and struggles coming from underground.

There was obviously a group of huge monsters on the other side of the door trying to rush out, and the walls were bearing each more violent impact.

Draco stood at the gate of the slaughterhouse and the underground dragon's lair, and then suddenly grabbed a trembling goblin who was about to escape to the upper level. "Excuse me, lend me a hand."

Draco pulled the goblin toward the passage door.

"No!" The goblin struggled desperately, but Draco had already pressed it against the door.

It was unclear which of the black smoke and the raging fire would escape first from the gradually disappearing door.

The roars of countless dragons began to become real and tangible.

As soon as Draco let go of the madly twisting goblin, he felt himself being tightly gripped by something invisible. The tightly clasped arms and the overly tight hug squeezed the air out of his lungs.

He smelled like some nasty fertilizer from an herbal class.

The anti-theft spray that had not yet dried on Draco's coat was rubbed onto the other person's body, and on a small piece of skin that had disappeared due to the Disillusionment Charm, Draco saw Harry's familiar hands and his bloody new scars.

The thick smoke made Draco's eyes hurt, and perhaps because he was hugged too tightly and couldn't breathe, a few tears burst out of his eyes uncontrollably.

"Just live with your dragon, Potter shit."
