Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 33 Malfoy Manor Basement (Part )
Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire, England.
Alex's squash lesson was over and the two of them went straight to the Malfoy mansion.
Draco Apparated with Harry, and when he opened his eyes, the luxurious furniture, portraits, and marble fireplaces that Harry had imagined were not there. After he stood firm, he found himself standing outside a wrought iron gate. At the same time, a rich floral scent wafted in his face.
"After the inspection by the Ministry of Magic after the war, my parents cast a new protective spell here, prohibiting Apparition into the manor to prevent the remnants of the Death Eaters from escaping to the previous base. So even I can't enter the house directly."
Draco lazily stretched out his wand and tapped the door. A silver door lock in the shape of a snake's head appeared on the door. Draco stretched out his fingers to cover the snake's open mouth. Finally, with a slight sound, the door opened.
The garden surrounded the Malfoy family's exquisite and magnificent mansion, with a huge fountain in the middle. The sound of splashing water made the empty manor seem less silent.
Harry noticed that the garden here had flowers of all seasons. In addition to the lush lawn, there was a double swing surrounded by flowers not far away that was particularly beautiful.
"The flowers here are changed every month - you can certainly tell they are created by magic, a habit that started when my father first brought my mother here."
Draco noticed that Harry was looking at the double swing curiously. "They like it there very much. They often sit on the double swing and talk. It's hard to imagine that they are still in love after being married for so many years." Draco shrugged.
"I thought there would be pets like white peacocks here." Harry remembered the previous rumors about the Malfoy family.
"There had been." Draco had already led Harry into the interior of the mansion and through the spacious entrance hall. Everywhere they looked were gorgeous carpets and dark purple stone tiles. On the corridor hung a row of portraits with light blonde hair, some of which had suffered irreversible magical damage. The portraits all seemed to be ancestors of the Malfoy family, and at this moment they were all looking at the new guest Harry with curiosity.
"After Voldemort used this place as a base for Death Eaters, these thugs killed all the living pets. We haven't raised any new ones since the war. You have to know that raising pets is not that easy."
Harry blurted out: "Don't you have -"
"Dobby was let go by your socks." Draco interrupted Harry. "Didn't you praise my cooking? Do you want to think about why?"
Harry opened his mouth wide: "...So you have become more independent, congratulations. Dobby is a free elf, he didn't want to stay here in the first place."
"I also learned how to use magic to quickly take care of the mansion... I have to walk around the entire manor every few days." Draco looked a little depressed. "Every time I cook or clean, I will think of the damn Potter... although these are not very difficult."
Harry covered his face to try to make his smile less obvious.
"You're still laughing!" Draco rolled his eyes, thinking that he was even still cooking for the damn Potter every day.
The two eventually met up with Lucius and Narcissa in the mansion's dining room.
Narcissa looked much better than the last time Harry met her, and she even changed her previous dress habits and changed into a brightly colored long skirt. Lucius still had his blond hair shawl, and there was no expression on his face. When he saw Harry, he just nodded politely.
"My dear, you are finally home. It seems that you have taken good care of yourself." Narcissa gave Draco a hug and kiss, and then hugged Harry, "Harry - I am so glad that you can come. Our family is grateful to you. Draco has actually wanted to invite you for a long time. He was sad for a long time when you declined his birthday party last time."
Harry stammered back, "It was you who protected me from Voldemort that turned the tide of the battle in the end—"
"It's all over." Draco made a gesture to end it, and glanced at the table behind him. "Wow, the dishes on the table today look like my father's work. You didn't ask Minster Restaurant to send them specially?"
"I don't think you will have time to run back and cook for yourself. We need to be sincere when treating new guests, but we can't let these dirty Sissy's new dress." Lucius raised his chin proudly.
"I cook every day now," Draco argued.
Lucius and Narcissa exchanged glances, understanding each other.
It was at the dinner table that Harry discovered that Draco's parents were fully aware of the progress of their task. "So the kid named Alex finally won the competition and got the role in the drama?" Narcissa asked the two of them while giving Harry a large portion of beef.
"Yeah, I used a little drop of Felicis Felicis - but he's pretty clever himself." Draco nodded.
"So you write letters home every day?" Harry asked curiously.
Narcissa smiled and replied, "He always liked to tell us about school. But since all the big events at Hogwarts in the past few years have been related to you, I've heard a lot. Lucius and I actually know you very well."
"In fact, we think you are better than the rumors say, otherwise Draco wouldn't have asked us to buy brooms in our first year so that we can quickly catch up with you."
A blush spread across Draco's face.
Chamber of Secrets, Midnight Duel, Quidditch, Room of Requirement... Although they had been on opposite sides of each other most of the time before, Harry and the Malfoy family always met and fought in various events.
"Although there may be some unpleasant memories before, my family is my only concern in the Malfoy family." Lucius said. "At any time, protecting my family is always my first priority. Now that Draco is willing to bring you here, we also believe that the door of the Malfoy family will be happy to open to you at any time."
"I understand that - I'm sure everyone has their own opinions," Harry whispered.
"Since we are on the same page, I hope we can all have a good time." Lucius raised his glass and drank it all. "Some problems are not as simple as they seem. There are very few black and white choices in the world."
Harry nodded and raised his glass and drank it down.
Draco held his breath. Although he wanted to snatch the wine glass from Harry's hand, the harmonious atmosphere at the table made him resist the urge. He then watched Harry drink the wine.
"We have to go back to Gringotts to return some items in the afternoon, so let's go to the basement first." Draco decided to temporarily interrupt Harry and his father's drinking. There would be plenty of opportunities for family dinners together in the future.
But he would first add a note in his next letter home to his parents - the Savior had a very poor alcohol tolerance.
