Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy

Chapter 127 The Godfather and the Little Wolf

"Wake up." Harry felt someone grab his collar and shake him. "Wake up."

The voice in my ears is not familiar.

Harry's consciousness gradually became clear, but his limbs were still powerless. He felt a dull pain in several places, as if he had been dragged all the way. His throat was strangely dry, and he didn't know how long he had been unconscious.

"What should I call you so that you will open your eyes? Savior? Savior Star?" The man who grabbed him by the collar raised his voice a little, "Or do you need me to call you Godfather?"

Harry used all his strength to open his heavy eyelids, and his round-frame glasses were taken away by the person opposite him, and his vision was blurry. The person opposite him sneered and then put the glasses back on Harry's nose.

The scene before him made Harry's heart suddenly shrink. There was a group of goblins in the room, and squatting in front of him was a middle-aged man with light brown hair. His melancholy and thin face had been covered in dust in his memory, but at this moment he was blinking at him.

The one who taught him how to exorcise Dementors, his father’s best friend, Moon Face who invented the Marauder’s Map…

"Professor Lupin--" Harry subconsciously clutched the sleeve of the person opposite him, "No--Professor--" He opened his mouth but couldn't say a word, as if all the words in the world abandoned him in an instant.

A hint of a smile appeared on Professor Lupin's lips.

Tears suddenly burst out of Harry's eyes, "How could you——"

"Hahahahahahahahaha!" The man opposite who looked like Remus Lupin laughed grimly, but his voice was very childish. "I transformed into my father's portrait, and judging by your reaction it should have been successful. It's a pity that I don't remember my father's voice at all."

The man on the other side was satisfied to see that what he said made Harry twitch violently.

"Ted." Harry paused for a few seconds and called him in a choking voice.

"Ted Remus Lupin." Harry tried hard to control his shaking hands. "Teddy - you disappeared after your grandmother Andromeda Tonks died, and finally, finally..." Harry reached out his hand to hug him, but was thrown back fiercely.

"Don't call me by my name or nickname. Don't pretend we are familiar with each other. We are not the same kind." Ted stepped back in disgust, then closed his eyes and changed his appearance into Harry's. "Look, I forgot about this famous scar..."

Harry's godson. Son of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. Ted lost his grandfather a month before he was born, and lost both his parents a month after he was born. Growing up with his grandmother Andromeda Tonks, Harry agreed to become Ted's godfather at Lupin's request. Before that, Harry always tried to take time out of work to accompany his godson until the day of tragedy.

As a child who inherited Tonks's Disguise Magus, Ted's hair color changed from the first day he was born. He could have been a talented wizard with great hopes, but he had werewolf blood after all. For a long time when he was growing up, Ted did not show the characteristics of a werewolf until his grandmother slowly began to need to hide the increasingly violent child.

"It's not your fault. We all thought that the werewolf blood wouldn't affect you." Harry said weakly, "It's just not stable enough. No one could have predicted this. It's not your fault. Come back to me. I will raise you up -"

"I didn't kill my grandmother! I didn't kill her!" Ted heard Harry talking about the past and started pulling his hair and screaming. His appearance also changed back to his own appearance uncontrollably, and a boy with light brown hair appeared in front of him. "You are all liars and bastards! Why did you let me be born? I'm just a monster of Muggle wizard and werewolf! I will never be welcome!"

Harry closed his eyes in pain - Ted was still a child. "We all love you very much. And now the wolfsbane potion is mature, you can grow up without worries."

The goblin standing in the back row moved and said sarcastically, "No worries? Do you mean that as a person with werewolf blood, he has no way to obtain formal wizard registration? Or because werewolves have committed many bad deeds in the war, so there will be no formal channels for education in the future? Or does he have to be bound by the "Werewolf Code of Conduct" and the "Non-Wizard Semi-Human Treatment Guidelines" forever? Neither a beast... nor a human..."

Ted scratched himself in pain, curling up in a ball at the goblin's words. "I didn't kill her - I didn't mean to kill her -"

"Shut up!" Although Harry's wand had been taken away by the goblin, it still caused a ball of fire to hit the goblin. When Andromeda brought Ted to Harry's house for dinner, Ted always looked different. He could also change himself into strange shapes at any time to make the two laugh.

But now Harry saw the same haggardness and desolation on Ted's face as on Lupin's.

"Don't run away again--" Harry pulled Ted into his arms, "It's my fault. I should have paid more attention to you. Your father was worried about your birth, but I spoke harshly to him--"

"A werewolf is a werewolf." The goblin stared at Harry with malicious eyes. "The continuation of the bloodline will never stop. It comes from the blessing and eternal curse of his father. Wizards will never regard him as one of their own kind, but for us goblins, werewolves have always been friends that we cherish. How lonely must this child be to run to the werewolf territory alone? Fortunately, we met him."

"Come with me, I will--" Harry grabbed Ted's hand.

"What do you want?" the goblin asked triumphantly, "to ensure his happiness? His parents will never come back, his bloodline will never change, and the sins he has committed will never be washed away. Maybe there is still something you can do now."

"More power for us." The goblin put emphasis on the word "us".

Harry bit his lip. The turbid air in the room made him uncomfortable. Looking at Ted who was sobbing, he couldn't find a reason to refute.

"If you can't find any good words for your speech, we can let him go in your place." The goblin pulled Ted to his side. "We will say some good words in the name of the savior and fulfill your godfather's obligations for you."

"Teddy." Harry wanted to try to communicate with his godson, but Ted's pale face had no expression and he turned his head to the side.

"My father is the only werewolf who has won the Order of Merlin. He has followed the rules set by wizards all his life, hiding from everyone. I don't know what this shiny piece of iron is for." Ted said expressionlessly, "I think the goblin is right. According to the current rules, I have no soil to survive."

Ted walked past Harry and changed his appearance to look like Harry again. "Thanks to my mother, I can be anyone, but I can't be myself."

"It seems not every orphan can be a hero. I'm sorry, Godfather."
