Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy

Chapter 113: Interview with the Vampire

"Hey." Lancelot saw the figure standing at the door from a distance. It was almost midnight, and the neighbors were still as lively as before. "Don't you feel that you are a little out of place here?"

The long trench coat that Ed wore today was simple in style, but the color was exaggeratedly bright, making it particularly eye-catching in the dusty and dark corridor.

"You've already seen through me. It seems there's no need to disguise myself. This only reminds me of how much of a failure I am as an Animagus." Ed held a thick stack of information in his hand and looked down at Lancelot as he opened the door. "I have a few things to discuss with you. Considering that my overtime work will be over at about the same time as your return home, I might as well come directly here."

"Is this dress a new fashion trend? A popular color combination? Mr. Editor-in-Chief." Lancelot looked like he was about to be blinded by the brightness.

"Actually, it's a magical dress." Ed smiled softly, "The color changes with the mood of the person. If you are in a bad mood, it will turn pitch black. Do you want to try it?"

Lancelot looked at Eddard suspiciously as he stuffed the coat into his hands. "Why would there be such an invention?" When he put it on with a suspicious look on his face, the clothes seemed to quickly sense the new emotions, and the color changed from a colorful mixture to a suspicious pink.

"You seem to be in a good mood. Isn't this dress amazing?" Ed held his chin and walked around Lancelot carefully. "And the size seems to be quite suitable--"

"I'll give it to you as a return gift for the cat collar you gave me last time. I have a similar piece of clothing."

An Egyptian-style velvet gem pendant cat collar - Lancelot came up with this work on a whim one night. The next day, it was delivered directly to Ed's desk in the Daily Prophet building by an owl, and attracted the attention of a group of female colleagues. Taking this opportunity, Lancelot received several more orders for pet accessories from Ed's colleagues in addition to the Duchess's order.

"You don't wear it because you don't like it?" Lancelot glanced at Ed's bare neck and said with a hint of sarcasm.

"I can't wear pet supplies in public. Egyptian-style things always look noble, and even in our office, they are a bit too exquisite."

"Oh my God - what color is this." Lancelot glanced in front of the mirror, as if frightened by such a pink color. His clothes soon turned a little darker, and he quickly took off his coat.

"I wear it during meetings. It turns as black as charcoal." Ed unfolded a few volumes of information on Lancelot's workbench. "This is some information I found in the International Wizarding Archives. Would you consider doing an exclusive interview in Wizarding Style? Considering the accident you had in Brick Lane last time, if you can't go back in the near future, would you like to try a new channel?"

"Information? The news that the Giuliano family disappeared overnight? Or are those rumors speculating why fairies have replaced them in the position of custom-making jewelry for the royal family?" Lancelot looked at the information copied from the archives carelessly.

"If you don't want to talk about the past, you can also be introduced as a new designer. I believe you will be very popular among both wizards and Muggles." Ed flipped through a few pages. "These are research materials related to jewelry. They can be used as references for the interview. Of course, I have also sorted out the news and historical archives about your family. There are also court records of your private case with the goblin."

"If you still need me, the final way of presenting the interview or news is up to you, whether you want to start over with this new name, or reappear as the heir after overturning the case..." Ed took a deep breath and waited for Lancelot's answer.

"Hmm." Lancelot was counting something in the box and he didn't look up immediately.

"In fact, I met Harry Potter in the archives." Ed continued, "They were investigating the crimes of goblins and the locations of large goblin workshops - those related to dragons. Do you know anything? If we can find evidence for you, the incident involving your family can also be considered one of the crimes of goblins."

"I know there is one under the pyramid. My goblin partner mentioned it before. But if we want to continue to mess up the goblin territory, it might be dangerous. The last time the workshop of the sea goblins was destroyed, there was no retaliation. Maybe they don't know who to find to blame." Lancelot picked up a bag of crimson liquid and adjusted its position. "If I study the scrolls in the goblin language carefully, I may find more information, but most of the time I feel disgusted when I touch their things."

Ed leaned forward to take a look at the box that Lancelot was packing. Inside were neatly packed bags of crimson liquid that looked sticky and had a fishy smell.

"Blood?"

"Yes. Today is my family visit day." Lancelot closed the box neatly, turned around and said seriously, "My family is more energetic at night. So I can't continue to talk to you about such serious work issues now. I'm afraid I have to leave soon."

"Is this animal blood?" Ed saw that the blood in different bags had slightly different colors, and one bag was even blue.

"Yes, the curse breakers have too many business trips. Going to different places allows them to come into contact with different creatures. It's a good opportunity to help them find some other blood species to change their taste. The species in the forests and caves are always relatively simple. Although my family prefers to lie in the gloomy old house." Lancelot held up the bag of blue blood and introduced it with great interest. "Horseshoe crab blood, Muggles use it as a test agent for disease vaccines, and it is very expensive. I took a lot of effort to find a few."

"I thought vampires were more interested in human blood."

"Vampires are only particularly sensitive to the blood of the people they like, and they find it very sweet. And they don't have the heart to hurt others, so they still rely on the blood of animals to survive."

"We'll talk about the rest when we get back."

Lancelot handed the color-changing coat to Ed, "I guess you'll follow me again. It's cold in the forest. I'll lend it to you for another night."
