Hogwarts in the shadows
Chapter 202 The Unforgivable Curse
Hephis withdrew his thoughts and looked back at the podium.
Moody was seen opening the drawer of the podium and taking out a glass bottle with a huge spider crawling inside.
Moody reached into the bottle, snatched up the spider, and held it in his open palm for everyone to see.
"Imperius Curse." He raised his wand, pointed it at the spider, and whispered, "Soul out of the body!"
In an instant, the spider seemed to be pulled by an invisible rope. It stretched out its eight limbs stiffly, then turned around and somersaulted.
Moody flicked his wand and it stood up on its hind legs and began to dance.
Moody showed off his skills, guiding the spider to perform all kinds of jaw-dropping movements.
Even the eight legs were bent backwards in an incredible way.
The little snakes all looked solemnly at the controlled spider.
There were still a few people laughing at the beginning, but when they felt the atmosphere around them, they all shut up.
"It's fun, isn't it?" Moody's voice was a little teasing.
But he soon noticed the strange expressions of the students and was speechless for a moment.
"Ahem, completely under my control," he coughed twice.
The spider suddenly curled up into a ball and began to roll around.
"I can make it jump out of the window, or drown itself..." Moody muttered softly, "It's not a pretty sight."
He suddenly changed the subject and roared.
"The Imperius Curse can be resisted. I will teach you. However, this requires a strong will, and not everyone can master it. Try to avoid being hit by it. Stay alert at all times!"
"Okay, next, Cruciatus Curse." He placed the spider on the table.
He licked his lips subconsciously, but stopped in time.
"I need to enlarge it a bit so you can see it clearly," he pointed his wand at the spider, "Get bigger quickly!"
The spider's body expanded rapidly, becoming the size of a fist in the blink of an eye.
"Crucio!" Moody's spell sounded again.
The spider's legs instantly contracted tightly and stuck close to its body.
It flipped over, its body twitching violently and swaying from side to side.
Hephaestus knew that kind of pain firsthand.
He once deliberately allowed himself to be struck by the Cruciatus Curse in order to attract Voldemort's attention.
He really didn't want to experience that feeling again.
Moody's eyes slowly swept below, and saw expressions of fear on the faces of some of the little wizards.
The corners of his mouth curled up in a satisfied arc, and he raised his wand. The spider's legs relaxed, but were still twitching.
"Shrink quickly." Moody's low voice sounded.
The spider's body quickly shrank back to its original size and collapsed on the table, visibly exhaling more than inhaling.
"Extreme pain," Moody whispered.
"Mastering the Cruciatus Curse means you don't need those low-end tools to torture others... This spell was also very popular at one time."
The corners of his twisted mouth twitched again, revealing an ugly smile.
"Next, it's the last and most powerful spell - the killing curse."
Moody raised his wand sharply, "Avada Kedavra!"
In an instant, a dazzling green light cut through the air and hit the spider accurately.
The spider turned over and lay on its back on the table. Its body was intact, but it had lost any signs of life.
The young wizards stared at this scene with wide eyes, and some students even screamed in fear.
"It's not pretty," Moody said flatly.
"Unpleasant. There is no way to break it, no defense against it. Only one person is known to have escaped the spell."
"The Avada Kedavra curse requires a strong magical force. You can all take out your wands and point them at..."
Moody habitually said what he had prepared.
But his magic eyes accidentally swept over Hephis and Draco, and his words stopped abruptly.
After a moment's silence, he continued, "Anyway, my purpose today is to make you aware of these spells and learn how to guard against them."
"Avada Kedavra, Imperius, Cruciatus - they are called the Unforgivable Curses. Anyone who casts any of them on a human being will be sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban. This is what I will teach you to defend against. You must always be vigilant. Now take out your quill and write this down..."
For the rest of the class, the young wizards lowered their heads and took notes, recording the three unforgivable curses.
The classroom was silent.
Hephes stared at the dead spider, mixed emotions surging in his heart.
Just now when Moody used the Killing Curse, he clearly felt a trace of soul fluctuation.
Although it was very subtle, he still caught it.
He thought to himself that only the Death Curse could touch the depths of the soul and cause such a violent reaction.
No wonder he killed so many people, but his soul didn't split at all.
The bell rang and Moody immediately announced the end of get out of class.
As soon as the little wizards left the classroom, all kinds of discussions suddenly surged up like a flood.
What they talked about most was not the three unforgivable curses, but the battle between Draco and Moody.
Obviously, that battle had a greater impact on them.
Draco followed Hephis without saying a word.
Even at lunch, he was still unhappy and showed no joy at all.
"Hephis, I want to become stronger." Draco looked at Hephis seriously.
"Oh? It seems that the battle just now has had a great impact on you." Hephis continued to eat.
Draco lowered his head and said a little depressed.
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to block Moody's first spell."
He had just been recalling the battle with Moody.
It was obvious that if he really went up on his own, he wouldn't even have the slightest chance of resistance.
He listened to the little snakes around him, who were enthusiastically discussing the battle that had just taken place.
His cheeks couldn't help but feel slightly hot, and his voice became even weaker.
"I...I want to win with my own strength and take this honor."
"That's right." Hephis wiped his mouth and sighed, "It turns out that only through experience can people grow."
Draco felt mixed emotions when he heard this, and his face became redder and redder.
He had been with Hephis since first grade, just a few months later than Theodore.
Now Theodore has dropped out of school and entered the Auror office on his own merit.
Starting as an Auror, I believe it won’t take long.
Theodore will be able to rise to prominence with his achievements and the help of Hephaest.
But what about him?
He could only follow behind Hephes, and if anything happened, Hephes still had to help him.
It would be fine if they were just friends, but his father was just Hephis's subordinate.
The more Draco thought about it, the more upset he felt.
It was like a huge rock pressing on his heart, making it difficult for him to breathe.
