Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 118: The Monster Book of Monsters

"You really don't want that small bag?" Hefeth asked helplessly.

He had wanted to give Hermione a small bag with a traceless extension charm cast on it, but the girl refused to accept it.

The reason! It’s too expensive!

Hermione didn't want to accept such an expensive gift from Hephis.

She had had a very formal conversation with Hephis once before.

Except for the Christmas gift from Hefeth in his first year, which was the necklace she accepted.

From then on, during the school term, if Hephis gave her any gift worth more than ten Galleons, she would not accept it.

Hermione shook her head, "No, I'll buy it myself when I make money."

"Just think of it as a loan from me, and you can return it to me later." Hephis changed the way he put it.

"Tsk, you're just deceiving yourself." Hermione firmly disagreed.

Hephis shrugged and put Hermione's luggage into the small bag.

Under Mrs. Granger's hospitality, Heffes ate another six slices of toast, four fried eggs and ten sausages.

Hermione had already eaten, so she didn't eat a single bite, but the job of clearing the plates fell on her.

The little girl pouted her lips and walked into the kitchen angrily with the plate in hand.

Mrs. Granger took advantage of Hermione's absence to give the letter from Dumbledore to Hepherdess.

She solemnly told Heface that she had talked to Hermione about Harry Potter.

Hephis smiled and pulled out a photo of Harry and Lockhart from his bag.

"Don't worry! We'll crush you in terms of looks."

Mrs. Granger looked at the photo and breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that her child would not be blind.

She shouldn't have been involved in the relationship between Hermione and Hephis.

But she couldn't have the best of both worlds, or she would beat Hermione's ass.

Hephis and Hermione said goodbye to Mrs. Granger and Apparated directly to Charing Cross Road.

They walked into the Leaky Cauldron hand in hand.

Hephis glanced around and didn't see Harry.

He asked Old Tom again and learned that Harry had gone to Diagon Alley early in the morning.

They also headed to Diagon Alley, first to do some shopping, then to go shopping.

If you meet Harry, take him with you. If you don’t, we’ll deal with it later.

Hermione's first stop was, of course, Flourish and Blotts.

By coincidence, Harry was just coming out of the bookshop with the book still tucked under his arm.

"Harry! Harry!" Hermione waved happily at Harry.

But Harry seemed to be stimulated by something and was in a trance, and did not hear Hermione's call at all.

"Harry!" Hermione slapped Harry on the head, waking him up immediately.

"Hermione, what's wrong with you..." Harry was surprised and opened his arms to hug Hermione, "It's great to see you."

"Long time no see, Harry." Hephis's voice came clearly into Harry's ears.

"Long time no see, Hephis." Harry turned his head and saw Hephis.

He lowered his arms awkwardly, then raised his left hand and waved.

Hermione's appearance revived Harry's spirits and he excitedly took them into the bookstore.

The manager came forward and asked, "Why are you back again?"

He looked at Hephis and Hermione, "Student? Here to buy new books?"

Hephis was a little confused by the question. They came to the bookstore not to buy books, but to buy sausages!

Harry had obviously been through this before, "They buy books."

“You don’t need ‘The Monster Book of Monsters’, do you?” the manager looked at them hopefully.

Although Hermione was a little confused, she answered honestly: "We need two."

"Oh, no." The manager put on thick gloves in desperation and picked up a thick cane.

He walked towards the iron cage containing the "Monster Book of Monsters".

Hefeth finally understood why the manager had that expression.

Nearly a hundred copies of "Monster Books of Monsters" opened their mouths wide, chasing and biting each other.

Several of the books were in tatters, with pages scattered all over the floor.

"Stop! Stop!" the manager yelled, using his cane to push open the books. "I'm really going crazy."

Hermione looked at the manager with sympathy.

Hephis snapped his fingers, and a freezing spell immediately froze nearly a hundred copies of "The Monster Book of Monsters".

The manager froze in place for a moment.

"You...you...thank you very much!" He excitedly bowed 90 degrees, and it seemed that he had been suffering from these books for a long time.

Hephis beckoned his fingers, and two copies of "Monster Books of Monsters" flew out.

"I think you'd better find some rope to tie these books up."

"Yes, yes, tie them up." The manager jumped up excitedly. "Whatever books you need, just take them. I'll give them to you."

After they found all the books, the manager was still tying them up.

Hermione tried to pay, but the manager refused.

The two of them just sat there, pushing and shoving each other.

Hephis sighed helplessly and secretly put twenty Galleons on the cash register.

He gave Hermione a look and pulled her away.

Seeing that the manager was so understanding, Hefes snapped his fingers again before leaving.

All the "Monster Books of Monsters" were instantly tied up with ropes and neatly stacked together.

The next stop was, of course, the ice cream shop.

The three of them sat at a small table outside Florin's ice cream shop, holding their ice creams.

After Hermione sat down, she asked directly, "Harry, what happened to you?"

As Harry licked his ice cream, he told the story of how he had blown up Aunt Marge.

"You actually... To be honest, you are really lucky not to have been expelled." Hermione said seriously.

Harry nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I had forgotten about the expulsion at the time. I thought I was going to be arrested. I don't know why Fudge let me go."

Hermione turned her head and glanced at Hefeth, who was eating ice cream calmly beside her.

Suddenly, what Hefeth had said before flashed through her mind, and she subconsciously said, "Because you are Harry Potter."

"What? Hermione, what did you just say?" Harry didn't hear clearly.

"Nothing, you can ask Ron, his father works in the Ministry of Magic, he should know the reason." Hermione said absentmindedly.

Harry probably knew that being a light bulb was not a good thing, so he said tactfully.

"Um...you guys should go shopping quickly, don't waste time."

"Oh, by the way, Harry." Hermione suddenly remembered something, "Hepherd and I plan to live in the Leaky Cauldron until the start of school."

"Ah! Really? You live here too," Harry's eyes flashed with joy, "That's great!"

"Have you finished your summer homework?" Hermione asked seriously.

Harry hesitated for a moment, "Summer homework... uh... you know, I can't study freely at the Dursleys'..."
