Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 288
Rocot laughed wildly, and his laughter echoed in the empty laboratory, like the roar of evil spirits from the depths of hell. He pushed Evelyn's body away roughly, leaving the once beautiful body lying on the cold ground like garbage.
"God? Slave? You are probably still asleep, Rocot." A cold female voice suddenly sounded at the door of the laboratory, her tone full of sarcasm and disdain.
Rocot's laughter stopped abruptly. He turned around abruptly, staring at the entrance of the laboratory with hawk-like eyes.
A tall and hot woman in a black tights slowly walked into the laboratory. She had long silver hair cascading down like a waterfall, shining with a cold luster under the dim light. There was no expression on her delicate face, and her deep blue eyes were like two sharp ice blades, piercing Roccod's heart.
"Alicia..." Roccod gritted his teeth and spat out the woman's name, his eyes filled with hatred and anger, "How dare you appear in front of me!"
"What? Meeting an old friend, you won't buy me a drink?" Alicia smiled contemptuously, walked to a chair in the middle of the laboratory, sat down gracefully, crossed her legs, and didn't take Rocot seriously at all.
"You planned all this and killed Evelyn, and now you dare to show up here. Are you here to laugh at me?" Rocot clenched his fists, and his knuckles cracked.
"Evelyn? That idiot is worthy of my trouble to deal with?" Alicia sneered, "She is just a chess piece, a chess piece used to test your bottom line."
"You..." Roccod was furious, and wanted to rush up and tear the woman into pieces, but he knew that he was no match for Alicia. This woman was his greatest enemy in his past and present lives, and also the lingering nightmare in his heart.
"Don't look at me like that, Roccod." Alicia stood up, walked to Roccod, stretched out her slender fingers, and gently stroked his cheek. "You should know that no one can stop me from doing what I want, including you."
Roccod grabbed Alicia's hand and squeezed it hard, trying to crush her delicate bones. However, Alicia's hand was as hard as steel and did not move at all.
"You are still so impulsive, Rocot." Alicia sneered, grabbed Rocot's wrist with her backhand and twisted it hard.
"Ah!" Rocot screamed and fell uncontrollably to his knees in front of Alicia.
"Do you think you are still the arrogant King of the Night?" Alicia looked down at Rocot who was kneeling in front of her, her eyes full of contempt and disdain, "You are nothing but a lost dog, a pitiful creature."
"What do you want?" Rocot asked through gritted teeth, enduring the severe pain in his wrist.
"Me? I'm only here to take back what belongs to me," Alicia said, her eyes turning towards the giant machine in the center of the lab that was flashing an eerie light.
"Don't even think about it!" Roccod struggled to stand up, but Alicia stepped on his chest and he couldn't move.
"You can't stop me, Rocot." Alicia's voice was like ice from hell. "This machine originally belonged to me, and you will also become mine..."
Alicia's voice became lower and lower, and finally turned into an inaudible sigh. Roccod felt his eyes go dark, and then he lost consciousness.
……
After an unknown amount of time, Roccod slowly opened his eyes and found himself tied to a cold metal operating table with his limbs firmly fixed, unable to move.
"Are you awake?" A familiar voice sounded in my ears, full of teasing and ridicule.
Roccod turned his head and saw Alicia wearing a white coat, standing next to the operating table, holding a shiny scalpel in her hand, with a drop of bright red blood still on the tip of the knife.
"You..." An ominous premonition suddenly arose in Roccod's heart.
"Don't be nervous, my old friend." Alicia smiled charmingly and tapped Roccod's cheek gently with the scalpel. "I just want to lend you something..."
"What do you want to do?!" Rocot glared at Alicia fiercely, as if he wanted to eat her alive. He struggled, but the cold metal restraints did not move at all, as if mocking his presumption.
Alicia gracefully put down the scalpel, picked up a piece of blood-stained gauze from the laboratory table, and wiped her fingers carelessly. She raised her carefully trimmed eyebrows and raised a playful arc at the corner of her mouth: "Don't worry, my old friend, you will know soon."
"Don't give me your airs!" Rocot roared. "What do you want to take from me?"
Alicia walked to Rocot's side, leaned down, and whispered in his ear: "Your fear."
Rocot was stunned for a moment, then he burst into laughter as if he had heard a great joke: "Hahaha! Alicia, are you out of your mind? Fear? There is no such word in my dictionary!"
Alicia smiled instead of getting angry. She stood up and patted Rocot's cheek gently, her tone as gentle as a lover's whisper: "No, you do. Of course you do. You are afraid of failure, afraid of being forgotten, afraid of losing everything again..."
Her fingers slid down Roccod's cheek and stopped at his heart: "This is what you fear the most, right? This heart that once beat for you, but is now so fragile."
Roccod's heart suddenly shrank, as if it was tightly grasped by an invisible hand. He was horrified to find that Alicia was right! He was indeed afraid, afraid to taste the heart-wrenching betrayal and despair of losing everything again.
Alicia seemed satisfied with Roccod's reaction. She took a step back, picked up the scalpel, and looked at it carefully under the light: "Don't worry, I won't kill you. I will keep you to witness my era with your own eyes, an era without you..."
She swung the scalpel violently and stabbed Rocot in the chest.
"stop!"
The door of the laboratory was violently pushed open from the outside, and a tall figure walked in against the light.
"Let him go, Alicia!"
The person who came was Arthur, the brother whom Rocot once trusted the most and who was now standing opposite him.
Alicia calmly put away the scalpel, turned to look at Arthur, and a mocking smile appeared on the corner of her mouth: "Why, you are late, my good brother. I thought you would give me a fatal blow at the critical moment."
"You..." Arthur clenched his fists and stared at Alicia as if he was about to spit fire.
"Why are you silent?" Alicia smiled contemptuously, "Are you feeling guilty or are you reluctant to do it?"
She walked up to Arthur, gently lifted his chin with a scalpel, and said provocatively: "Don't forget who gave you everything you have today? Without me, you would be nothing but a nobody, and would always live in his shadow!"
Arthur knocked Alicia's hand away and yelled, "Shut up! You don't understand at all, you don't understand anything!"
He turned around and walked towards the operating table, trying to untie the metal buckles that bound Rocot.
"You want to betray me?" Alicia's voice suddenly turned cold, and her tone was full of murderous intent.
Arthur stopped, turned his back to Alicia, and said in a low and firm voice: "I don't want to betray anyone. I just want to do what I think is right."
The laboratory fell into deathly silence, with only the light on the operating table still flickering with an eerie glow.
Suddenly, Rocot uttered a painful groan, and his body began to tremble violently, as if he was in great pain.
"What are you doing?!" Arthur looked at Alicia in horror.
Alicia ignored Arthur. She walked over to Rocot and watched him struggling in pain with an expression of almost crazy excitement on her face.
"Do you feel it? This is the power of your fear!" She leaned over and whispered in Rocot's ear, "I want you to watch with your own eyes, watch everything you cherish turn into ashes..."
Roccod screamed in pain. His body began to change. His skin turned pale and transparent, and his blood vessels turned a strange black color, as if something was growing wildly inside him...
