Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 282

The electric current raged in Dr. Li's body, as if it was tearing every nerve in her body apart. After the severe pain, it was replaced by a void of darkness. She felt like she was trapped in an endless abyss, unable to breathe or move. Only those scarlet eyes, like will-o'-the-wisp, kept flickering in her mind.

"Is he dead?" This was Dr. Li's last thought before he fell into a coma.

After an unknown amount of time, the touch of cold metal awakened her consciousness. Dr. Li struggled to open her heavy eyelids and found herself tied to a cold operating table, with her limbs firmly fixed with metal restraints, unable to move.

The room was dimly lit, and the air was filled with a strange smell of disinfectant and blood. Several figures in white coats were busy around her, and various instruments that she couldn't name made buzzing sounds around her, making her feel dizzy.

"Awake?" A cold voice sounded in her ears, with a hint of playful smile in the tone.

Dr. Li turned her eyes with difficulty and looked in the direction where the sound came from. A tall figure stood in front of her against the light. She couldn't see his face clearly, but she could see that he was wearing a black robe, like the god of death who walked out of hell.

"You... who are you?" Dr. Li's voice was hoarse and weak, as if it had been polished by sandpaper.

"Haven't you guessed it?" the shadow chuckled in a low voice, with a hint of teasing.

Dr. Li was shocked. Could it be... really him? The legendary King of the Dark Night, Rocot?

The shadow slowly walked in front of Dr. Li, and the dim light illuminated his face. It was a face that was so handsome that it was breathtaking, with facial features as clear as if they were carved by a knife, a pair of deep eyes flashing with a cold light, and a wicked arc at the corner of his mouth, which made people shudder.

"Long time no see, Dr. Li." Roccod leaned over, staring at Dr. Li with his scarlet eyes, as if he wanted to see through her. "Or should I call you...'Savior'?"

Dr. Li's heart sank suddenly. She knew that her biggest secret had been exposed.

"What...what do you want to do?" Dr. Li asked with gritted teeth, suppressing his inner fear.

"Don't be nervous, I just want to make a deal with you." Roccod chuckled, his tone so gentle that it made people's hair stand on end. "I know you have a power that can change the world, and I need your power to help me accomplish something."

Dr. Li stared at Roccod coldly without saying anything. She knew that she would be in great danger if she fell into the hands of this devil.

Roccod seemed to see through Dr. Li's thoughts. He reached out his hand and gently stroked Dr. Li's cheek, his tone as gentle as the whisper of love: "Don't worry, as long as you are obedient, I will not hurt you. On the contrary, I will give you everything you want...power, wealth, and even...eternal life."

Dr. Li's body trembled slightly, not because of fear, but because of anger. She raised her head suddenly, looked directly into Roccod's eyes, and said word by word: "Even if I die, I will never go along with you!"

Roccod's fingers paused slightly, and the smile on his face gradually disappeared, replaced by a cold chill. He stood up and looked down at Dr. Li, his tone as cold as ice: "It seems that you have not yet recognized your situation..."

After saying that, Rocot suddenly stretched out his hand, grabbed Dr. Li's neck, and lifted her up from the operating table. Dr. Li's feet left the ground, and she struggled desperately, but to no avail.

"Cough cough..." Dr. Li felt difficulty breathing and her vision went dark. Her instinct for survival made her try desperately to pry open Rockode's fingers, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree, and it was useless.

"Who do you think you are?" Roccod's voice was like the whisper of a demon from hell, full of mockery and disdain. "How dare a lowly ant like you go against my will?"

Just when Dr. Li felt that he was about to suffocate, the door of the room was suddenly kicked open from outside, and a familiar voice sounded at the door:

"Lockold! Stop it!"

Dr. Li turned his head with difficulty and saw a tall figure standing at the door. He was facing the light and his face could not be seen clearly. He was holding an energy weapon emitting a faint blue light in his hand, and the muzzle of the gun was pointed directly at Rocot...

The blue light drew a dazzling arc in the dim laboratory. Roccod turned his head slightly, and a trace of impatience flashed in his scarlet eyes. He laughed contemptuously, but his hands did not relax at all. Instead, he pinched Dr. Li's neck more forcefully.

"Hey, isn't this our 'savior' friend? Why, you can't help but come to the rescue so soon?" Rocot's voice was full of sarcasm. He was like teasing a prey that had fallen into a trap, enjoying the other's powerless struggle.

Dr. Li's vision had begun to blur. She was breathing hard, making a "ho ho" sound in her throat, but she couldn't even utter a complete sentence. The pain of suffocation made her eyes go black, but she still tried to open her eyes wide, trying to see who was coming.

The figure at the door was still facing the light, so his face could not be seen clearly, but his tall and straight body and the energy weapon in his hand that emitted a faint blue light gave people an inexplicable sense of security.

"I'll say it again, let her go." The man's tone was cold, without any emotion, as if it came from the ice of the Nether Hell, making people shudder.

"Tsk, tsk, how touching! Even at this time, you are still thinking about protecting others." Roccod smiled indifferently and increased the strength of his hands. "But who do you think you are? A hero who has passed the time, dares to point fingers in front of me?"

"You should know that my patience is limited." The man ignored Rocot's provocation. His tone remained calm, but full of unquestionable majesty.

"Patience? Hahaha, what I hate most is people talking to me about patience!" Locot suddenly laughed wildly. He threw Dr. Li against the wall, then his figure flashed, like a black cheetah, and he rushed in front of the person in an instant.

A faint blue light flashed, and the energy weapon ejected a blazing energy beam, heading straight for Rokod's chest. Rokod did not dodge, but raised a bloodthirsty sneer at the corner of his mouth, and his right hand turned into a residual shadow, accurately grabbing the energy beam.

"Is this all you can do? 'Savior'?" A trace of contempt flashed in Rocot's eyes. He squeezed his hands hard, and with a crackling sound, the energy beam was crushed by him!

"It seems that you seem to have forgotten who rescued you from that hellhole ten years ago." There was finally a slight fluctuation in the visitor's tone, with a hint of anger that was difficult to conceal.

"Save? Hahaha, who do you think you are? My savior?" Rocot laughed as if he had heard something funny. His laughter was full of sarcasm and disdain. "Don't forget, it was you who pushed me into that hell. It was you who destroyed everything for me!"

Rocot's laughter stopped abruptly. His face turned hideous and terrifying. His scarlet eyes burned with rage, as if he wanted to burn everything in front of him to ashes.

"Now, what qualifications do you have to stand here and talk to me about salvation?!"
