Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 273
The blinding light gradually brought Roccod back to consciousness. He felt dizzy, as if he had been pulled back from an endless abyss. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a cold metallic gray. He tried to move his body, but found that his limbs were bound by some force and he could not move.
"Damn, where is this place?" He cursed under his breath and tried hard to see his surroundings clearly.
This was a closed room, with the walls glowing with the unique cold light of metal. In the center of the room, on a metal platform, Rocot was firmly fixed like a lamb to be slaughtered. Various unknown instruments surrounded him, flashing disturbing red lights, and the cold air was filled with a pungent smell of disinfectant.
"Don't waste your energy," a cold voice came from above, "You are just an experimental subject now, number 001, do you understand?"
Roccod raised his head with difficulty. A man in a white coat and a mask was looking down at him. His eyes were as if he was looking at an ant, full of indifference and disdain.
"Experimental subject? Number 001?" Roccod sneered, his tone full of sarcasm, "You idiots, do you know who you are talking to?"
"Heh, a self-righteous experiment subject," the man laughed contemptuously, with a hint of cruelty in his tone, "No matter who you were before, now, you are just a test subject in our hands, do you understand?"
"Experimental subject?" The anger in Roccod's eyes almost burst out, and a strong pressure emanated from him. The lights in the room began to flicker. "You'd better understand the consequences of angering me!"
The man seemed to be frightened by Rokod's momentum, but he quickly regained his composure and sneered, "Why, do you still think you are the high and mighty king of the night? Don't dream! Here, you are just a piece of trash that can be slaughtered at will!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the man suddenly pressed a button in his hand. A sharp pain instantly spread throughout Roccod's body, and he felt as if his consciousness was torn apart.
"what!"
The heart-wrenching roar echoed in the metal room, but was soon drowned out by the roar of various instruments. The man looked at everything in front of him expressionlessly, with a crazy light flashing in his eyes.
"Let me see where your limit is..."
After an unknown amount of time, the severe pain gradually subsided, and Rocot collapsed weakly on the metal platform, gasping for breath. His consciousness gradually blurred, and the world before his eyes began to turn blood red.
“Damn it…”
Just as Roccod was about to fall into coma again, a blurry figure appeared in his vision. It was a woman in a white dress, with long silver hair cascading down like a waterfall, and a delicate face that seemed as holy as an angel, but with a hint of unspeakable sadness.
"You are..." Roccod wanted to ask, but found that he didn't even have the strength to speak.
The woman slowly walked up to Rocot, stretched out her slender fingers, and gently stroked his cheek. Her movements were gentle, and her eyes were full of pity, as if she was looking at a fragile treasure.
"Don't be afraid, my child..." the woman said softly, her voice as sweet as the sound of nature, "I will take you home..."
Roccod wanted to ask where "home" was, but he had already lost consciousness and fell into endless darkness.
The man was the only one left in the room. He looked at the unconscious Roccod with a strange smile on his face.
"The game has just begun..."
Darkness swallowed up Roccod's consciousness. He wanted to grasp the white, the promised "home", but he only touched a void. Nightmare-like fragments of memory rolled in his mind. Power, betrayal, killing, those things he once regarded as treasures, eventually turned into sharp blades, pushing him into the abyss.
"Home..." He opened his mouth weakly, but no sound came out.
The low hum of the instrument echoed in the metal room. The man in the white coat glanced at the unconscious Roccod on the platform with disdain, as if he was looking at a toy that was about to be disassembled. He slowly took off the gloves stained with a little blood and threw them into the trash can beside him.
"Oh, the Dark Night King? Nothing more than that." He muttered to himself, his tone full of sarcasm, "Let me see how long you can hold out under my scalpel."
He turned and walked to the control panel in the corner of the room, and quickly typed in a complex code with his fingers. The metal platform in the center of the room slowly descended, sending Rocot into a huge glass cabin filled with green liquid.
"Sleep well, Subject 001. When you wake up, you will thank me for my 'masterpiece'." The man whispered, his eyes flashing with crazy ambition.
At the same time, in a magnificent palace in the distant capital of the interstellar empire, a man in a black robe suddenly stood up from the throne. His face was pale and his brows were furrowed, as if he was experiencing great pain.
"Your Majesty, what's wrong with you?" Seeing this, the captain of the guards standing nearby hurried forward to ask.
"Lockold...something happened to him." The man whispered, his voice filled with worry and anger that were difficult to conceal. "I can't sense his breath."
“What?!” The captain of the guards was horrified. “How is this possible? The power of the Lord of Darkness is unmatched. How could he…”
"Someone betrayed him, and..." The man paused, a cold light flashed in his eyes, "The other party may have mastered some power that we don't know about."
"Your Majesty, please give the order and I will send someone to investigate immediately!" The captain of the guards knelt on one knee with a firm tone.
"No, it's not the right time yet." The man shook his head. He walked to the huge French window, overlooking the brightly lit city, with a complicated look in his eyes. "We can't act rashly before we figure out the other party's purpose."
"But..." The captain of the guards wanted to say something, but the man raised his hand to stop him.
"Send the order to block all news about Rokod. Say that he is in seclusion and no one is allowed to disturb him."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" The captain of the guards took the order and withdrew.
