Hogwarts: The Savior's Strong Cousin

Chapter 343 Protection Magic

Knox angrily launches a final attack, but with the combined efforts of Harry, Hermione, and Ron, he is finally defeated and disappears into the darkness.

The crisis is temporarily resolved, but Harry knows that this is just the beginning. The secrets and dangers of Hogwarts are far more complicated than they imagined. They must always be vigilant to protect this place they love so much.

In the following days, the campus gradually returned to peace, but Harry, Hermione and Ron knew that there was a deeper conspiracy behind this crisis. They decided to continue their investigation and uncover the unknown secrets of Hogwarts.

One day, Harry received a mysterious letter with only one sentence on it: "The darkness has not left, be careful of the shadows hidden in the light."

With the joint efforts of Harry, Hermione and Ron, Hogwarts seemed to have returned to peace. But Harry was still uneasy, and the mysterious letter kept him awake at night. The darkness had not left, and this sentence lingered in his mind.

One day, Harry met Professor McGonagall, the headmaster, in the hall. There was a trace of concern in her eyes: "Harry, I heard about your recent brave actions. Hogwarts is proud of you."

Harry nodded, but the uneasiness in his heart still remained: "Thank you, Professor. But I think this is just the beginning, and there are still many mysteries to be solved."

Professor McGonagall's eyes became deep: "You are right, Harry. There are some things that we need to investigate further. Come to my office tonight. We need to go to the library."

As night fell, Harry arrived at Professor McGonagall's office on time. She was standing by the fireplace, holding an old book in her hands.

"Harry," she said, "there are secrets hidden in the deepest books of Hogwarts, and we need to find them."

Harry nodded, and the two of them went through the secret passage to the library. The library was located deep underground in Hogwarts, and only a few people knew of its existence. It kept countless ancient and powerful magic books and was one of the forbidden areas of the school.

Entering the library, Harry felt a mysterious atmosphere. The bookshelves around him were soaring into the sky, as if they were endless. The air was filled with the smell of dust and old papers.

Professor McGonagall led Harry to a row of bookshelves and whispered, "A lot of forgotten knowledge and secrets are kept here. We need to find records related to the Dark Arts."

Harry was nervous and excited. He flipped through the books carefully, repeating to himself, "I must find the clues and protect Hogwarts."

Suddenly, a thick black-covered book caught his attention. Ancient runes were engraved on the book, emitting a faint blue light.

"Professor, this book seems unusual," Harry said quietly.

Professor McGonagall took a look and said solemnly: "This book records some secrets of Hogwarts in its early days. It may be helpful to us."

The two of them turned the pages together, and the ancient text gradually emerged before their eyes. Harry read carefully, his heart beating faster: "It mentions a sealed black magic called the 'Netherworld Curse'. Legend has it that it can summon a powerful dark force, but it also requires a huge price to pay."

Professor McGonagall nodded, "Yes, this magic was once used to protect Hogwarts, but it was later sealed because of its danger."

Harry continued reading, feeling increasingly nervous. "It mentions a wizard named Cyrus who seems to have studied this magic very deeply."

Professor McGonagall's expression became more serious. "Cyrus Knox was once a student at Hogwarts, but was later expelled from school for being addicted to the dark arts. His record was erased from the school history, but his shadow still exists."

Harry clenched his fists, his fighting spirit ignited in his heart: "We must find Cyrus's hiding place and stop him from continuing to harm Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall nodded: "You are right, Harry. But we need more detailed clues. Perhaps we can find some clues from the historical records of Hogwarts."

Harry's mind was full of thoughts. He knew that the challenge he would face next might be more difficult than before, but he was not afraid. In order to protect Hogwarts, he was willing to give everything.

After a long night in the library, Harry and Professor McGonagall decided to return to the surface temporarily to sort out the clues they found. When it was dawn, they returned to the headmaster's office. Harry sat in a comfortable chair, his heart full of unanswered questions and a heavy sense of responsibility.

"Professor," Harry began, with a hint of hesitation in his tone, "we know that Cyrus Knox wields very powerful Dark Magic. How can we control and defend against it?"

Professor McGonagall pondered for a moment and said slowly: "Magic is essentially neutral. The key lies in the mentality and intention of the user. The reason why dark magic is considered dangerous is that it can be easily abused, and controlling this kind of magic requires extremely high self-discipline and firm will."

Harry nodded, and his mind recounted all his past experiences fighting against the Dark Arts. He recalled Voldemort, the Death Eaters, and every encounter with them, and a complex emotion welled up in his heart, both fear and fearlessness.

"But professor," Harry continued, "all we need is defense, not the use of dark magic. Is there any way to effectively defend against these powerful dark magics?"

Professor McGonagall's eyes flashed with approval. "Defense against the Dark Arts is indeed an extremely important subject. You are right. We do not need to use the Dark Arts, but we need to find effective means of defense. Hogwarts has many powerful protective spells, but facing an opponent like Cyrus Knox, we need more preparation."

Harry looked at Professor McGonagall thoughtfully: "Perhaps we could start by learning more powerful protective spells, such as the Enhanced Shield Charm?"

Professor McGonagall smiled slightly. "Yes, the Shield Spell is indeed a good choice. But we still need to find Cyrus Knox's weakness. Any magic has its loopholes. The key is whether we can discover and exploit it."

A new hope ignited in Harry's heart: "I will continue to study related books and find more clues."

Professor McGonagall nodded: "Very good, but don't forget to rest. Long-term tension and pressure will affect your judgment. You still have many friends who will face these challenges with you."

Harry glanced at Professor McGonagall gratefully. "Thank you, Professor. I'll pay attention."
