Reborn in the 60s and adopted

Chapter 7: Feeling the Warmth of Home

After returning home, Tang Mei put down the backpack, stepped onto a stool, and drew water from the tub to wash her hands.

Then he scooped some water into the pot. After pouring almost half of the water, he got off the stool and sat in front of the stove. He took a handful of matches, started a fire and threw the matches into the fire chamber.

Technology was so advanced in her previous life. Tang Mei used an earthen stove when she was a child. She didn't expect that she could still use this skill in her new life.

When the water was about to boil, I heard a door opening outside.

"Meimei, are you home? Are you lighting the fire?" Aunt Tang San rushed into the kitchen. Seeing Tang Mei sitting obediently under the stove and lighting the fire, she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Aunt San, you're back." Tang Mei raised her head and said to Aunt San Tang with a smile.

"Little girl, you scared your aunt to death. I saw smoke coming out of the house from outside and thought it was on fire." After saying this, Aunt Tang patted her chest.

"Aunt San, don't be afraid. I can also cook porridge and light a fire when I am at home. By the way, Aunt San, look what this is!" Tang Mei took out the turtledove she had caught in the mountains today from her backpack.

"Turtledove, where did you come from?" Aunt Tang San asked curiously.

"Today I went up the mountain and saw two turtledoves fighting, so I threw my sickle over and hit them."

"Oh, our Meimei is really capable." Aunt Tang San happily took the turtledove from Tang Mei's hand and put it in the basin. After thinking for a while, she said, "Meimei, don't go into the forest alone next time. You are less than 5 years old. What if there is a snake in it and you get bitten!"

"Aunt San, don't be afraid, I brought a sickle." Tang Mei raised her little head and said proudly.

Aunt Tang San saw Tang Mei's confident look and couldn't say anything to discourage her. She could only use the gentlest tone and said, "Meimei, can you ask your eldest cousin to come with you next time you go up the mountain?"

Seeing that Aunt Tang San was indeed very nervous about her safety, Tang Mei had no choice but to nod and agree.

Tang Mei watched the water boil, and then she stood up and prepared to step on a stool to scoop the water from the pot into the basin, but was seen by Aunt Tang San, who held her down as she was about to stand up.

"Meimei, let me do it. You just sit and light the fire. Let me show you my skills tonight." As she spoke, Aunt Tang plucked the turtledove skillfully.

"Aunt San, I also picked some yellow mushrooms and wood ears!"

"Hey, the side dishes for tonight are ready. I, Third Aunt, have found a treasure. Our little Meimei is so amazing!" She gave Tang Mei a thumbs up.

After waiting for a while, Uncle Tang returned home with his things. As soon as he entered the door, he heard Aunt Tang and Tang Mei talking and laughing in the kitchen. Uncle Tang was very happy and relieved that his wife and niece got along well.

"Wife, I'm back"

"Hey, boss, you're back, come in quickly," Aunt Tang pointed into the basin.

"Hey, there's some delicious food today."

"It was our little Meimei who was too capable. She killed him with a sickle."

"Meimei, you are so awesome"

Tang Mei's old face couldn't help but feel a little hot as she listened to Aunt Tang San and Uncle Tang San praising her one after another.

"Ahem, Uncle San, are you hungry?"

"I'm hungry. I'm hungry." Uncle Tang tapped Tang Mei's forehead.

"Boss, go wash your hands and face quickly, I will stew it later," said Aunt Tang San.

"Okay, it will probably take quite some time for dinner, I'll go out for a walk later."

Uncle Tang washed his hands, shook off the water and was about to walk to the kitchen door. After thinking for a while, he stepped back and said

"Girl, let's go out for a walk with Uncle San."

Tang Mei stood up and followed Uncle Tang.
