My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen
Chapter 374: The Medieval Singularity Opens Again (Part )
Born male, Chronom was troubled by the rite of passage that determines the mortal form of a dragon. One morning, less than two weeks before his Transfiguration Day, his closest friend Zidormi visited him in his Dragonblight lair and asked him what mortal form he would choose. Zidormi was shocked to learn that Chronom had not yet made a decision. Chronom confided in her that he did not even know how he saw himself, so how could he choose how others saw him? Zidormi suggested that he seek the guidance of Nozdormu.
Before stepping into the Bronze Dragonshrine, Kronom hovered over it for a long time, hesitant. Finally, he cautiously asked Nozdormu if he could reveal what form Kronom would choose in the future.
But the Bronze Dragon King asked him to calm down first, and then asked Chronom in a gentle and calm tone: "What does the Illusion Day mean to you?"
Chronom took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. His eyes were firm and focused, as if he was recalling some profound experience. He slowly replied, "This means that when I walk among them, I can resonate with them and feel their emotions, thoughts, and desires. In this way, I can better help them understand the meaning of the dragon's existence and let them see that we are not just creatures with hard scales and sharp claws, but also living beings with inner wisdom and emotions."
Nozdormu nodded slightly, showing his understanding and agreement. He knew the power and significance of Phantasma, so he decided to set an example and show it to Chronom. Nozdormu radiated a dazzling light, and in the blink of an eye he transformed into his mortal form. He continued: "Phantom Vision allows dragons to observe and experience the world from the perspective of younger races. At the same time, our mortal form will also affect the image of dragons in the eyes of younger races. However, this choice is entirely up to each dragon himself, and it reflects our inner essence as dragons. Because of this, I cannot tell you directly what you should choose, because this must be decided by you, so as not to affect your true thoughts."
Zidormi understood Nozdormu's good intentions, and she knew that an experienced dragon elder was needed to give Chronom some advice and guidance. So she begged Kalecgos of the Blue Dragon Legion to come forward to help.
The young bronze dragon Kronom embarked on a journey to Coldarra with full of doubts and expectations. There stood a mysterious and powerful magic hub - the Nexus. When he finally arrived at his destination, he met the legendary Kalecgos.
What surprised Kronom was that Kalecgos's illusion was just an ordinary half-elf. He originally thought that this great blue dragon would appear in a majestic and shocking image, but what he saw subverted his imagination. At this moment, Kronom had more thoughts and questions in his heart.
Kalecgos explained that while many blue dragons tend to choose a complex, formal appearance, he hopes to truly stand shoulder to shoulder with ordinary humans. At this time, Kronom suddenly mentioned his iconic blue hair, and Kalecgos simply responded: "This hair color is very suitable for me." Before the bronze dragon was about to turn around and leave, Kalecgos also kindly made a suggestion to him - consider taking a nickname to match his current mortal form. For example, when he is with mortals, he can just call himself "Kalec".
Kalecgos further suggested that Kronom contact more dragons with different perspectives and explore the wisdom contained in them. After hearing this, Kronom began to silently think about the dragon members who had impressed him, trying to find a new target with a different style and a sharp contrast with Kalecgos. After careful consideration, he finally made a decision and set his sights on another completely different type of dragon - Onyxia from the Black Dragonflight. Then, a dragon man wearing black scales led Kronom into the cave in the Obsidian Dragonshrine to meet the daughter of Deathwing.
Onyxia disdained Kronom's idea. She felt that dragons were born hunters, with sharp claws that could easily tear flesh and bones, and ruthless fangs that could instantly take people's lives. No form of transformation could change this fact. Like other innate talents, transformation was just a means to achieve a goal.
Onyxia used her own human form as an example and explained in detail: "Humans are not the strongest race, nor the smartest race, but they are the most ruthless race. Although they do have some wisdom, they are still a group of vain creatures. As long as they are flattered with sweet words, they can be obedient and at the mercy of others. The human form I chose can make their heartbeats speed up, so that I can easily control them and manipulate them as I please.
"The Black Dragon Princess suggested that he stay with her and promised to teach him how to understand every detail of mortals. With her careful teaching, and his own choice of the ideal form, he will surely become the greatest member of the Burning Legion in the future. One day, even the powerful Lord of Time will surrender to him. After hearing these words, Kronom fled from the cave. He was frightened by Onyxia's words. However, at this moment, he already knew clearly what kind of existence he really wanted to be in his heart.
According to tradition, the ceremony took place atop Wyrmrest Temple. Many members of the Bronze Dragonflight, including Nozdormu and Zidormi, were present, as were Kalecgos, Onyxia, and other emissaries from the other dragonflights. Alexstrasza presided over the Transfiguration, causing an agitated Kronom to become restless. When the queen arrived, she privately told him that she could postpone the ceremony to another day if he wished.
But Kronom nodded, his eyes firm, as if he was confident about what was going to happen next, indicating that he was fully prepared. When making the declaration, Kronom originally wanted to say the speech he had practiced many times and memorized, but when the words came to his lips, he changed his mind and decided to put aside those carefully prepared words and instead reveal his true thoughts.
For a long time, Kronom had felt that there was something wrong with him, because he found that people around him seemed to be able to make choices easily, but he was always hesitant. He continued: "The advice I got from my fellow dragons made me realize that the appearance of mortals not only represents the way others see themselves in the eyes of dragons, but more importantly, it is related to how we see ourselves and how we feel and share the world with other lives."
At this moment, Kronom finally understood that whenever he looked at the continent of Azeroth and the mortal residents living on this land, he did not aspire to be a hero or a conqueror. What he really hoped for was to find a new identity and meaning of existence.
He wanted to be the smallest and most optimistic among them, to see everything through their eyes. He hoped that he would be able to build a bright future for the world. Then, Chronom whispered the spell that determined her mortal form, and the magic faded, and she transformed into a smaller female dwarf wearing a white robe inlaid with gold. She called herself "Chromie", and the dragons present cheered. Zidormi hugged her, and Nozdormu told her that she had made a wise choice. Onyxia said nothing, but before leaving, she nodded slightly to the young bronze dragon.
Kalec told Chromie that he felt she had a lesson for all of us. When he asked why she chose to be a woman, Chromie smiled, replied "It suits me," and gave Kalec a long, happy hug. A glorious day gave way to a glorious night, and as the young bronze dragon slept, she felt more whole and happier than she had ever been.
The evil experiments conducted by the Scourge in Andorhal have seriously disrupted the flow of time, and the Bronze Dragonflight has to take measures to deal with this situation. So, they sent Chronom to investigate the matter. In order to facilitate the operation, Chronom transformed into a female dwarf Chromie and set up an operation base in the Andorhal Inn. She hopes to save Andorhal from a timeline that has not been corrupted.
Chromie not only guided the adventurers to destroy the Time Parasite, but also helped them recover the Andorhal Pocket Watch. In addition, she provided the Plague Neutralizer to weaken the power of the lich Araj, the ruler of Andorhal.
Carlin Redpath was desperate to reverse the curse placed on his brother Joseph, and when he learned of Chromie's existence, he sent his friend to seek Chromie's help, armed with Joseph's hunting knife.
Chromie, through insight into Joseph's past, realized that it was too late to save him in the current timeline, but she sent a messenger from Calin to the ruins of Andorhal, where she successfully recovered historical records of the fall of Darrowshire and discovered the cause of Joseph's fall.
In order to redeem Joseph's soul, Chromie decided to take action. She knew the complexity and mystery of time, but she firmly believed that this goal could only be achieved through a specific method.
So, Chromie sent a messenger from Kalin to Darrowshire to find the lost relics and place them in the center of Darrowshire Square. These relics carry the memory of history and are also a symbol of those who died in the Battle of Darrowshire.
Next, Chromie cast a powerful magic to awaken the souls of those who died in the Battle of Darrowshire. They woke up from the shadow of death and regained their life and strength. These brave warriors once again threw themselves into the battle and fought for justice.
However, Chromie was well aware of the limits of her abilities. Although she could direct the flow of time, she could not directly intervene in it. After blessing Kalin's friends, she quietly left the scene and returned to Andorhal to continue her in-depth investigation of the mystery of time.
Additionally, Chromie appears at a critical moment before the Third War. Players will encounter her when they enter the Stratholme Assassination dungeon. Chromie will explain her mission in detail to the adventurers. The Eternal Dragonflight is using illusions to cover up the plague-tainted grain in an attempt to disrupt Prince Arthas's determination to purify Stratholme. This behavior could have disastrous consequences, so it must be stopped.
To solve this problem, Chromie gave the players a precious arcane disruptor. This artifact can help them detect and find those contaminated grain boxes. Players need to rely on keen observation and wisdom to carefully search every corner and not miss any clues.
Once all the contaminated grain boxes are found, Chromie will ask the adventurers to take on an important responsibility - escort Prince Arthas and ensure his safe journey until he faces Mal'Ganis. This is a journey full of dangers and tests, but only in this way can the conspiracy of the Eternal Dragon Legion be broken and the future be protected from the erosion of darkness.
In Heroic Mode, she will tell the adventurer at the beginning of the dungeon that the Eternal Corruptor has captured a Bronze Dragon Legion agent and ask the player to rescue him within a limited time. She will warn the team 5 minutes and 1 minute before the time limit.
During his travels, the famous adventurer traveled through Elwynn Forest and Westfall, before sending in his last report before entering the misty jungles of Stranglethorn Vale, where he was never heard from again. According to his last report, Brann had just discovered an ancient city hidden deep within Stranglethorn Vale, and then encountered a group of ferocious jungle troll headhunters. Brann supposedly evaded capture, but the only clue he left behind was a vague statement "I have decided to head east..."[10] However, Brann was apparently safe, having just finished exploring Zul'Grub and was heading north into the Eastern Kingdoms.
With his new pet monkey Grebe, Brann returned to the abandoned lands southwest of Silithus to investigate rumors of the emergence of nerubians [request source] - and also learned from the Cenarion Circle about the Old God C'Thun and his bug-men. He then set out with an expedition to southern Silithus, trying to find a way through the Scarab Wall that he had never been able to enter before.
