My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen

Chapter 334: Black Zhen's Hand Rubs the Medieval Singularity (Continued)

During this time, Cenarius traveled to the Moonglade near Mount Hyjal, and Malfurion continued to study druidry under the demigod's tutelage. Many male night elves joined Malfurion in learning druidry, many of whom were former members of the Moon Guard. Malfurion taught them and founded the Cenarion Circle, the druidic organization of Azeroth. He and most of the remaining druids spent much of their time wandering the wilds of Azeroth, meditating in the Emerald Dream, and healing the damage done to the land by war.

As time went by, a new race, the orcs, originated from the planet Draenor, and came to Azeroth. Under the influence of demons, the orc society changed from a peaceful shamanism to a bloodthirsty tribe.

In the first and second wars against the human Eastern Kingdom, countless lives were lost.

Cenarius and the night elves were isolated from the outside world and knew nothing about what was happening outside of Kalimdor. The Second War ended with the orcs' disastrous defeat and the tribe was completely crushed.

Just before the Third War, a new orc prophet appeared - Thrall.

Orgrim Doomhammer, the then chieftain of the Horde, saw that Thrall was brave and resourceful, and his prestige in the Horde was growing.

In addition, Thrall is the child of an old friend of Orgrim Doomhammer, and Orgrim Doomhammer intends to abdicate to Thrall.

During a battle to rescue the orcs, Orgrim Doomhammer, who was famous for his sneak attacks, deliberately exposed his flaws and was hit in the vitals by the human guards.

Before his death, Orgrim Doomhammer appointed Thrall as the new Warchief of the Horde.

Thrall reorganized the tribe and led his people across the sea to establish their own homeland on the continent of Kalimdor. This new tribe had no intention of further war. The orcs only wanted to leave the human territory and find a place of their own.

The orcs were not warmly welcomed on Kalimdor. The night elves sent out many scouts, who brought back reports of the orcs' misdeeds during the First and Second Wars. Meanwhile, the orcs cut down many trees on Kalimdor, apparently intending to settle there. Cenarius led a force of night elves and treants to fight against the large number of orc invaders. Just as the new tribe was about to be destroyed, several emissaries of the Burning Legion, who had just arrived on Azeroth, saved them. The Burning Legion had not forgotten Cenarius's power, and they were determined to defeat him. At the suggestion of the dreadlord Tichondrius, the pit lord Mannoroth spilled his blood into a lake, and the pollution caused was soon discovered by the troll witch doctors of the tribe.

The orcs led by Grommash Hellscream drank the infected waters of the lake, and became addicted to the power the demon had given them. With the power of extraordinary hatred and rage, Grommash and his warriors succeeded in killing Cenarius. With the death of the demigod, they continued to corrupt the ancient forest.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore, the druid who awakened Thrall, helped Grommash regain his sanity, and Grommash subsequently killed Mannoroth, freeing the orcs from the demonic curse. However, the damage done was causing the corruption to spread, and the Burning Legion began to march into the forest, and soon Tyrande and her Sentinels encountered the demonic guerrillas. The return of the Burning Legion was the last thing the night elves wanted to see. Tyrande and her warriors knew that if they wanted to defeat this demonic army, they had to get all the help they could.

The warrior women fought their way to the Horn of Cenarius, and Tyrande used it to awaken Malfurion from his sleep in the Emerald Dream. He had been wandering in the dream for a thousand years. Tyrande and Malfurion entered the Barrow Caves to find and awaken the other druids, and on the way they came upon the gates of Illidan's prison. Tyrande then realized with sadness that Malfurion's brother had been imprisoned for ten thousand years. She felt that such a long imprisonment was enough punishment for his past actions. Moreover, she believed that Illidan's abilities were better spent fighting the Burning Legion than wasting them in prison - just as they had long ago.

Malfurion tried to stop Tyrande from releasing Illidan, but as the sole leader of the night elf government, she made the decision alone. She led a group of Sentinels to the prison. The Wardens would not surrender their prisoner peacefully, and Tyrande and her warriors were forced to clear the guards who blocked their way to Illidan's prison. She told Illidan that his people needed him once again to fight the Burning Legion. Illidan agreed to join the fight against the Burning Legion. However, he still remembered the torture of his long imprisonment. He told Tyrande that he was fighting only for her, and not out of any sacred duty left to his people.

Once freed from his prison, he followed Tyrande to the corrupted forests of Felwood. Tyrande and her warriors searched for Malfurion, who was still awakening the last druids. She was sure that once she was faced with the reality of Illidan's freedom, she would convince her lover to give her brother another chance.

Rise of the Dark Powers Tyrande met with Malfurion, who had awakened the remaining druids. She told him that Illidan had agreed to help them fight the Burning Legion. Malfurion followed her to Felwood with deep misgivings. Illidan did not sit idle in Tyrande's absence, and he stole the magical artifact that the Burning Legion was using to corrupt Felwood: the Skull of Gul'dan.

Illidan chose to absorb the skull's power rather than destroy it, and transformed himself into a demon. He then used his new powers to kill the dreadlord Tichondrius. After Malfurion and Tyrande returned, Illidan explained that destroying the skull would slowly heal the wounds inflicted on the forest. The demon's feeble excuses did not deceive any of the shocked night elves.

Malfurion also had the responsibility to punish Illidan, severing all ties with the demon and exiling him from the night elf territory.

Battle for Mount Hyjal On the way to Mount Hyjal, the night elves joined the forces of Jaina Proudmoore and Thrall's Horde.

The three forces delayed Archimonde's progress, buying enough time for Malfurion and the other druids to set traps.

When Archimonde finally reached the World Tree and the Well of Eternity it guarded, countless elves swarmed out from every corner and surrounded Archimonde's huge body. Archimonde thought these elves were no threat, but the energy they sacrificed themselves to kill him quickly and neatly.

After Archimonde's death, the remaining Burning Legion forces in Azeroth lost their leader and were quickly destroyed by the combined forces of the Horde, humans, and night elves.

After the battle calmed down, only Maiev Shadowsong remained in the pursuit of her former prisoner, Illidan, to the death. She gathered the remaining Watchers and finally tracked him down in the Tomb of Sargeras. The vengeful demon had not forgotten his former captors. He used the destructive power of the newly acquired Eye of Sargeras to cause the tomb walls to collapse.

The watchers were trapped in a corner of the tomb by the overflowing sea water, and finally only Maiev escaped back to the camp alone. In fact, the watchers, as agents of the night elf government, were directly led by Tyrande, but Tyrande let Illidan go and killed many watchers on the way, so Maiev regarded her as an enemy.

Additionally, Maiev sent a messenger to ask Malfurion, the man who had imprisoned Illidan, for help and to alert him to Illidan's whereabouts.

Malfurion and Tyrande came to help Maiev, but Malfurion soon left to commune with the wounded earth, leaving the two women alone. The two continued their search for Illidan, and encountered a group of blood elves led by Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider.

Maiev asked the prince and his people to help search for Illidan, but Kael'thas asked him to put his people in a safe place first.

At this time, Tyrande proposed that she and Maiev would escort the blood elves across the Arivas River, and in return, the blood elves would help them hunt for Illidan. The blood elf prince agreed to Tyrande's suggestion, but when the blood elves reached the river bank, a large group of the Scourge appeared and attacked them.

Tyrande stood on the bridge and unleashed the Wrath of Elune, hoping to hold off the undead attack. She held out for a while, but suddenly the bridge collapsed and Tyrande was swept downstream. Later, Tyrande learned that Maiev had never intended to save her, and instead, Maiev told Kael'thas that they should continue searching for Illidan.

Maiev Malfurion returned from the forest with bad news: Illidan and a group of naga were casting a channeling spell to split Northrend apart. Maiev pulled him aside and told him the heartbreaking news that Tyrande had died while escorting the blood elves.

She also said that if it weren't for Illidan, Tyrande would never have been in such danger. This made Malfurion furious, and he, Maiev and the other blood elves tracked down Illidan and stopped his dangerous spell. It was only then that Malfurion learned two important facts.

First, Illidan was actually trying to kill a common enemy: the Lich King.

Second, Maiev did not want to waste precious time searching for Tyrande because Maiev believed Illidan was still at large.

So if she lied, Tyrande might still be alive and in desperate need of help.

Illidan volunteered to rescue Tyrande.

After a brief argument, Malfurion conceded that since Tyrande had been washed downstream of the Arivas River, the naga would have been able to reach her more quickly.

It is clear that even though Illidan has become a demon, he still loves Tyrande.

Unexpected help The Scourge surrounded Tyrande and many of the Sentinels who followed their master into the river. Although the battle became increasingly difficult to maintain, they still established a camp at their feet.

When Illidan and his naga appeared, Tyrande's first reaction was that he was coming to kill her.

After all, what fantasies could she have about the devil?

However, Illidan and his warriors fought alongside the Sentinels against the undead. The force cleared the undead and eventually joined up with the rest of Malfurion's elves. Tyrande and Malfurion were ecstatic. Illidan had caused much damage, but his act of helping to save Tyrande made it unlikely that Malfurion would imprison or execute him. In the end, Malfurion decided to let him go, but he warned the demon not to threaten the night elves again. Illidan opened a portal to Outland, and Maiev arrived just as he was leaving. Tyrande tried to stop the angry watcher, but to no avail, as Maiev and her remaining warriors followed through the portal without hesitation.

An Unfinished Dream Not long ago, Tyrande found Malfurion's comatose body in the great den of Moonglade. Concerned, she summoned the Cenarion Circle and several other members of the Sisterhood of Elune. The druids informed her that the last they had heard of Malfurion he was in meditation, and that there were no signs of intruders entering Moonglade.

The druids looked deeper and found nothing. Malfurion's dream had somehow become separated from his physical body. The Cenarion Circle had tried to summon his spirit back many times but to no avail. The Circle had also tried to contact Malfurion in the Emerald Dream, but to no avail.

Eventually the druids turned to Ysera, but she was unable to find Malfurion. It seemed that he was lost in the Emerald Dream. The Sisterhood of Elune could not provide any further information on Malfurion's condition or any solution. All they knew for sure was that Malfurion was in perfect health.

All they could do was cast magic on his body to keep it healthy while he slept. The Cenarion Circle decided it would be best to leave Malfurion's body where it was found - in the Great Barrow Lair in Moonglade. They agreed that Malfurion's spirit would have the best chance of returning to the body if it was not moved. This was also because Moonglade was more suitable for druidic magic than a large city like Darnassus.

As the ruler of the night elves, Tyrande spent most of her time in Darnassus, knowing that her duty to protect the night elves took precedence over personal feelings. However, she often came to Moonglade to visit Malfurion privately. Although the Cenarion Circle and many priestesses of Elune were caring for his body, he showed no signs of recovery.
