HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 997 Extra: Preparations before the Wedding

Ases has been very busy recently, so busy that he is rarely seen all day and rarely even goes home.

No one knew what he was busy with, not even Snape, who slept in the same bed with him every night.

For who knows how many times, Snape frowned as he faced the empty castle. Thinking about the almost nonexistent time they had spent alone together recently, he simply sat on the sofa with a sullen face, waiting for Ases to come back.

They needed to talk, he thought.

Time flies by and night falls.

Aces walked into the living room with a tired look on his face.

As soon as he entered the door, he froze.

In the dim living room, there was a figure leaning quietly on the sofa, breathing lightly.

Subconsciously, Ases moved lightly and cautiously to the sofa.

On the sofa, Snape had his eyes closed, his brows slightly furrowed, his lips pursed unhappily, and no one knew what he was dreaming about.

Aces retreated silently and waved.

The cleansing spell from his hands instantly swept away the dust and smell collected from a day's running around, and then dispelled the coldness brought in from outside.

After making sure that there was nothing wrong with him, Athis moved closer again and raised his hand to touch Snape's forehead to test the temperature.

Not feeling any heat, he breathed a sigh of relief and called softly, "Sif? Wake up, why are you sleeping here?"

Snape opened his eyes blearily, and through sleepy eyes, he recognized the person in front of him.

"Why did you fall asleep here? Have you eaten?" Asis tidied Snape's messy hair and spoke in a low voice.

"...Athis?" Snape leaned sideways into Athis's arms, his eyelids not fully open, "When you accidentally fell asleep and ate, when did you come back?"

The voice was still a little hoarse from just waking up, and combined with the content of the words, it seemed particularly alluring in the dim environment.

Ases's Adam's apple rolled and his heart felt itchy and numb.

"Just got back."

As he answered, he calmly sat on the armrest of the sofa, and took Snape, who was stretching lazily like a cat, and leaned over to kiss him.

Snape turned his head away and kissed the corner of his lips, bringing a sense of familiarity.

But now is not the time to think about that.

The tongue in his thin lips pressed against his upper palate, suppressing the distracting thoughts that should not appear in his mind for the time being. Snape pushed Athis away with his backhand and quickly distanced themselves from each other.

"Sev?"

Ases looked back in confusion.

"What have you been busy with lately?" Snape kept a safe distance and narrowed his eyes, his eyes full of scrutiny and displeasure. "If I remember correctly, the last time we had dinner at the same table was half a month ago. What are you doing..."

Ases was startled, and his mind automatically completed the second half of the sentence, and he frantically explained: "Wait, I'm not, bah - I didn't do anything to let you down."

Snape snorted, "I know, otherwise you would be facing the wand now."

He never worried that Athis would betray him. Athis would not, never.

"So, what are you doing?" Snape gave him a questioning look. "Tell me the truth and don't change the subject."

Aces was silent for a moment, then glanced at Snape's expression, feeling embarrassed and guilty, "I... ahem, can I not say it?"

Snape's eyes slid across his tightly clenched hands, his heart softened, but his tone didn't change at all, "What do you think?"

Ases lowered his eyes and quickly weighed whether to turn the tables and be scolded or to be honest. In the end, he decisively chose to be honest.

"Okay, I'm saying... ahem, I'm planning the wedding."

Snape subconsciously asked back: "Preparing for a wedding? Whose wedding?"

Aces chuckled, "Who else do you think I can have a wedding with, Sif?"

Snape blinked slowly, trying to comprehend what he was saying. "You're saying that you're planning... our wedding?"

"Yes, our wedding."

"You've proposed to me, so how can I not hold a wedding?"

Asseth spoke with confidence.

Snape hesitated to speak, wanting to tell him that neither the wizarding world nor the Muggle world currently recognized the legality of homosexuality. However, seeing the fluttering eyebrows on Snape's face that couldn't even hide his fatigue, he swallowed his words back silently.

Never mind, I won’t spoil his fun.

Just be happy, whether it is legal or not is not that important.

Snape ignored the slight bitterness in his heart, crossed his arms and smiled: "So, this is a surprise for me?"

Ases shrugged and smiled helplessly: "Yeah, it's a pity that we were discovered."

Snape wanted to laugh.

After all these years, Ases still didn't know how to hide in front of him.

"I remember I told you that if you don't want me to find out, you shouldn't be so obvious. You should find a reason to move out and live outside for a while."

While Snape was talking, Arces quietly moved to the sofa and paused when he heard it. "I also said that I would not lie to you. What's more, if I move out, our already poor world of two will be even worse. Neither you nor I will be happy. The wedding is to make us happy, not to make us uncomfortable. If this is the case, then we might as well hold it."

My fingers are a little itchy, and so is my heart.

Snape retracted his finger but said nothing.

Even after experiencing it many times, he could not get used to the undisguised love that Athis showed him at any time and anywhere.

"No reward? I thought I was getting a kiss as a reward?"

As he spoke, Athis moved closer to Snape, and the distance between them became infinitely closer, so close that he could kiss him with just the slightest movement.

Snape looked into his eyes, cruelly raised a finger and pressed it against his lips: "I thought you didn't do this for the reward?"

"Ok."

Aces stepped back in disappointment, and the next second, Snape kissed him on the lips without any warning.

Touch and leave, taste and stop.

Before he could deepen the kiss, Snape retreated to the other side of the sofa.

"Is there anything I can do for the wedding?"

Ases stared at Snape's lips covered with water, his eyes suddenly became deep, filled with strong desire.

"A lot. We'll discuss this in detail in the study tomorrow. Now, we should rest."
