HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 77 Signs of Magical Riot

Carter and Elise stood up after Asseth came over.

"Sir, are you okay?"

Elise came up to him and asked, looking at Asseth's wrist with concern.

The wizard's wrist is very important to the wizard because it is related to the speed and subtle changes of their spells.

Aces raised his hand expressionlessly and turned his wrist.

The flexible movement of their wrists made the two of them breathe a sigh of relief.

After both of them had a clear look, Asses withdrew his hand and sat down on the sofa in the lounge.

"I know you care about me, but it was me who raised the challenge. I was injured because I am not as skilled as others."

"Understand?"

Asseth raised his eyes and looked at Carter and Elise, his tone was very calm, but it revealed that there was no doubt.

Carter and Elise lowered their heads and responded in a muffled voice.

Seeing that they were still dissatisfied, Asseth sighed.

"If you challenge me and I accidentally hurt you, will you blame me?"

"Of course not! Sir, he didn't mean it."

"will not."

Aces laughed.

"Isn't this right? You won't blame me, and I certainly won't blame the professor."

The two of them were speechless for a moment.

"Okay, now that you've figured it out, go back and rest. It's getting late."

Asseth stretched out his hand to smooth the wrinkles on his clothes, stood up, and said to Carter and Elise.

Naturally, the two of them had no objections.

Afterwards, the three of them turned around and returned to their respective dormitories to rest.

The official second day of school at Hogwarts this year was Friday, and the first class of the second-year Slytherin class that day was Charms.

When the little snakes arrived at the Charms classroom, Professor Flitwick was already standing on the small stand that Arthas gave him for Christmas, waiting.

Seeing Arthur come in, Professor Flitwick greeted him with a smile.

"Oh, it's Mr. Cavendish, how was your holiday."

"The holiday was great, the only regret is that it was a bit short."

Artes spread his hands towards Professor Flitwick and said helplessly.

Professor Flitwick also imitated Arthur's example and spread his hands.

"There's nothing I can do about it. Maybe you should go find Principal Dumbledore?"

"I don't dare to do this."

Arthur found a random seat in the classroom and sat down, smiling as he answered Professor Flitwick.

Professor Flitwick also laughed, looked at the time while laughing, and then waved his wand to close the classroom door.

"Okay, I guess it's time for us to get to class."

"In this lesson, let's review the dancing spell first."

After speaking, Professor Flitwick waved his wand and placed a pineapple in front of each student.

This was from last semester's exam, making Pineapple tap dance across the table.

After getting the pineapple, the little wizard consciously used the dancing spell.

Aces also raised his wand and waved it.

The moment the curse was about to be cast, Asseth noticed something was wrong. He abruptly cut off the flow of magic power and interrupted the casting of the curse.

The consequence of this move was that his chest felt as if he had been hit hard by a boulder, and he was so stuffy that he couldn't breathe.

Aces held the wand tightly, veins popping out in his hand, and he suppressed the surprise and doubt in his heart.

Elise noticed something strange about him and looked at him worriedly.

"Sir, what's wrong with you?"

Aces shook his head, indicating that he was fine.

Then he raised his wand again and tried to cast a spell.

This time Ases was much more careful than the last time. He slowed down and felt the flow of magic in his body.

The magic power flows slowly along the path of the spell, and finally flows to the tip of the wand and is cast.

This time the spell was successfully cast without any problems, as if the accident just now was Artes's illusion.

But Asseth knew clearly that this was not an illusion. There was something wrong with his magic power that he didn't know about.

Aces frowned tightly, not understanding why this was happening.

The sudden change made Artes uninterested in class. He fiddled with his wand and listened absently to Professor Flitwick.

Finally, he waited until get out of class was over, but was stopped by Professor Flitwick.

"Mr. Cavendish, please wait a moment."

Aces stopped leaving, nodded to Elise, and motioned for her to leave first.

Professor Flitwick did not keep Artes waiting for long. He quickly packed up his things and came to Artes.

"Mr. Cavendish, let's go to my office and talk, okay?"

Asseth nodded disinterestedly.

His mind was now occupied with the problem of his magic power, and he was in no mood to pay attention to anything else.

The two came to the office, and Professor Flitwick pulled out a chair and asked Arthur to sit down.

Then he clicked on the desktop again, and a steaming cup of cocoa immediately appeared on the desktop.

"I think the hot cocoa will calm you down."

Aces took a sip of hot cocoa in silence, and the taste of the dessert soothed his confusion a little.

"You seem to have something bothering you, can you tell me about it?"

Flitwick said to Arthas kindly.

Arthas looked up at Flitwick, saw the worried look on his face, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke.

"There seems to be a problem with my magic."

Flitwick frowned.

"What kind of question."

"When I was casting the dancing spell just now, I found that it was changed at the end."

"Changed?"

Flitwick asked in confusion, he didn't understand what Asseth meant.

Aces pondered for a moment.

"That is, the magic power did flow according to my will at the beginning, but in the end, it suddenly became out of my control and changed on its own."

After hearing Asseth's explanation, Flitwick's expression immediately became serious.

"You mean the magic is suddenly out of your control?"

"Yes."

"Professor Flitwick, do you know why this is?"

Aces asked in confusion.

Flitwick did not answer immediately, but asked Arthas a question.

"Mr. Cavendish, have you ever completely exhausted your magic power? Very completely."

Aces was stunned for a moment, then replied.

"Once."

Aces remembered that last semester, in order to deal with Voldemort, all the magic power in his body was sucked away by the magic circle.

Flitwick's face turned grim.

"Professor Flitwick? What's wrong with my magic? What does it have to do with running out of magic?"

Arthas looked at Flitwick in confusion.

Flitwick saw that Artes was a little nervous, so he softened his expression before explaining to Artes.

"We all know that a young wizard's magic grows with age."

"During this period, because the little wizard does not have enough mastery of magic spells, it is usually difficult to use up the magic power."

"So there's something you might not know."

"Excessive consumption of magic power may lead to magic power riots, and the characteristic of magic power riots is that magic power is suddenly out of control."

Hearing this, Asseth frowned, which was in line with his own situation.

Flitwick continued.

"Magic riots are very dangerous, both for you and other students."

"So now you have to have a professor watching over you."

Having said this, Professor Flitwick paused and looked at Arthas a little confused.

"What's wrong? Professor Flitwick."

Aces asked.
