HP: Embrace the Darkness
Chapter 220 Classroom Questioning
"Is that true? Severus."
Dumbledore looked deeply at Snape, his eyes shining with insight.
What Snape hated the most was Dumbledore's indifferent look that saw everything through.
Every time he saw it, he would recall what Dumbledore was like back then, and see how powerless he was when he was begging, and he was so powerless that he could only give everything.
He doesn't regret everything he has done, he just... hates that feeling of powerlessness.
"enough!"
Snape couldn't help but growl at Dumbledore.
"If you want to see me worrying about him, you're probably going to be disappointed, I'm not worried about that stupid Potter, ever."
"Severus, I didn't mean that."
"Then what do you mean?"
Dumbledore looked at Snape without speaking, and the cellar fell into silence again.
In the silence, Snape suddenly calmed down. If you look closely at him, his eyes are hollow and numb, devoid of any human emotion.
"Dumbledore, you are always like this, as if everything in the world is under your control and should be under your control. This is ridiculous."
Snape twitched his lips, showed a sarcastic smile, and immediately turned around and walked towards the exit of the secret room.
"Severus."
Dumbledore called softly.
Snape stopped and turned slightly.
"No one can control everything, including me, so I can't complete it, and I can't agree to your request."
The light coming in from outside blurred Snape's expression, so Dumbledore couldn't see clearly, but he guessed that the expression must not be very good-looking.
Because Snape's steps away were heavier and bigger than before, and every step landed with anger.
Dumbledore sighed.
He didn't lie to Snape just now, things were indeed out of his control.
Among them was Snape.
Dumbledore looked up at the portrait of Slytherin in the secret room, feeling heavy or helpless.
Snape walked very fast with a sullen expression on his face, his black robes rolling around causing waves of cold air.
The usually bustling corridor quickly fell silent along the path he walked.
The little wizards on both sides were walking on thin ice to avoid his gaze, fearing that they would accidentally look at each other and ignite their anger.
Snape walked quickly down the corridor in anger.
At the corner, he saw the familiar figure from the corner of his eye. He stopped and turned into the empty classroom.
At the other end of the corridor window, Elise was telling Asseth the news she had received.
"..."
"Sir, that's all for now."
She took a deep breath to calm her gasping for words from speaking too fast.
Aces was looking at the Forbidden Forest in the distance. After hearing this, he looked back and said indifferently:
"Please help me give Dumbledore the response from the school board and the evidence of Lockhart's plunder."
"As for Lucius...I reminded him, and it's not without benefit to him, so be it."
"Okay, sir."
Elise hugged the parchment in her hand tightly, nodded respectfully and left.
Asseth continued to look at the Forbidden Forest, his eyes full of thoughts. Should he go to the Forbidden Forest?
After watching for a while, he put away his thoughts and turned to leave.
After walking around the corner, Asseth's steps remained unchanged, but his eyes moved slightly, and he began to count down silently in his heart.
Before he had taken two steps, a slender, pale hand stretched out from the classroom, grabbed Ass's collar and pulled him inside.
Asseth didn't struggle, and fell into the classroom with all his strength, letting the owner of his hand press him against the wall.
When his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he raised his hand and pressed down the hand on his collar, making a counterattack.
The movement stopped again the next second.
"Sev, is that you?"
Aces shouted tentatively.
Snape shook off his hand and raised his hand again to grab his collar and push him against the wall, forcing his two pairs of equally dark eyes to meet.
In the dark classroom, the two faced off silently.
Snape carefully observed the expression on Ass's face and tightened his strength on his hands.
Aces maintained the movement of being held hostage by him, and also observed Snape's expression.
The moment he saw the anger and sadness on Snape's face, his anger rose sharply.
Ace knew it was distressing.
Taking a deep breath to suppress the anger in his heart, Artes raised his hand and placed it on Snape's hand. He didn't forcefully open it, but just held it gently.
"Ahem, Sifu—what's wrong with you?"
Hearing the cough, Snape suddenly let go, the anger in his eyes growing instead.
"What's wrong? Ha."
"Why don't you ask yourself what you did? What about the basilisk in the chamber of secrets?"
Aces was not surprised by his question. He even felt that Snape came a little late, knowing that he had been counting down since last night.
"The basilisk is in my hands."
He avoided the previous question and only answered the next one.
Snape wasn't satisfied with the answer, but he didn't dig into it.
"I assume you know what a basilisk is?"
"Of course, I think I know that."
clear?
Snape laughed in anger, the anger he had accumulated just now surged into his heart, and he vented his anger in unspeakable words.
"You do know how beautiful it is! Ah... Mr. Cavendish, broke into the secret room alone and subdued the basilisk. Let me guess what you are going to do next, kill the Dark Lord?"
His sarcastic voice echoed in the quiet classroom and was overwhelming.
Aces didn't expect his reaction to be so big, and he didn't know what to say for a moment.
The Potions Master's anger came from a strange place. He thought about Snape's reaction when he knew about this, but he was definitely not as angry as he was now.
"Why don't you speak? Or maybe you can't refute the facts at all. If this is really the case, then I can only say that you are really arrogant and arrogant."
Snape also realized that he was losing control, but he chose to let it go.
This is who he really is, gloomy, arrogant and unreasonable, so he never asks for others to get close to him.
But Snape didn't notice, and his face turned three points white as he spoke.
"Is that all?"
Snape heard Artes' calm voice.
The same calmness as Dumbledore made Snape feel that he was an irrational clown in front of them, a sad and ridiculous clown.
He raised his head angrily and said:
"That's all? What else do you want to hear? To hear me worry about you or to pray that you're okay?"
"It's a shame your Potions Master doesn't want to worry about an arrogant bastard."
Aces frowned, keenly aware that Snape's anger was partly due to what he just said.
But there's nothing wrong with that sentence, is it the tone?
Countless thoughts passed through his mind, and finally he remembered that Dumbledore was returning to school today.
Will it be you? Dumbledore.
There was a hint of coldness in Asseth's half-closed eyes, but his tone was still calm and gentle.
"Sev, I'm not calm right now. What you see is that I'm trying my best to control myself and not turn around and leave because I'm sad."
Snape's expression froze when he heard the word sad, but he subconsciously retorted:
"Why don't you leave? My sympathy is like a clown, but I still think it's fun to endure my temper here?"
"No, Sev, I didn't leave because I was afraid. I was afraid that once I left, the rift between us would be irreparable."
This was an answer that surprised Snape. He looked at Artes blankly.
