There is an allusion in the Buddhist scriptures, "Sumeru accepts mustard seeds, and mustard seeds accept Sumeru. When Sumeru accepts mustard seeds, people have no doubts. Mustard seeds accept Sumeru. Isn't this a lie?"

Return to the person in front of you. A frog in a well does not know the vastness of the world, and a summer insect does not know the ice and snow in winter. To refute this, the rich man is like agarwood in a bowl that collects odor. The well frogs and summer insects mentioned are both from a chapter of Zhuangzi's "Wai Pian: Autumn Waters", who is a representative of local Taoism. His metaphysical treatises clearly explain many obscure words. If I really reprimand the other party for being rebellious and arrogant, I am afraid that she will immediately fight back.

Her words just now, "You have witnessed it and told it, but you can't say anything about it." is the best proof.

When the Bodhi Summit returned to calmness again, Dufa smiled slightly and said: "As the donor said just now, the Buddha's Dharma can accept Sumeru, so why can't it accept all Dharmas? If the Bodhisattva lives as a liberated person, with the height and breadth of Sumeru, there will be nothing in the inner mustard seeds. Increase or decrease. But if the donor has the Dharma, why should the Buddha accept it?"

Xumi is a Buddhist holy place. The word "no addition or subtraction" comes from the "Vimalakīrti Sutra". This sentence refers to the fact that mustard seeds and Sumeru are completely equal and non-dual, and they can also integrate into each other without hindrance.

The "Manjushri Prajna Sutra" and "Vimalakīrti Sutra" that Du Fa himself worships are both famous Zen scriptures, and both belong to Mahayana Buddhism. The former talks about "the mind that chants Buddha's name is the Buddha", while the latter talks about how one can become a Buddha even in the secular world. When the two come together, they become one, and we are not far from the Pure Land.

Pei Jiaoran's opinions are all related to Taoism. Although Buddhism first came to China and accepted its principles, over the years, Buddhism has long since separated from its place of origin and has its own principles. Taoist views have long been understood.

Pei Jiaoran looked at Dufa with his eyes raised, eyebrows raised in deep thought, "In the past, Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty Yu Wenyong once asked Fan Xun what he thought of Buddhism and Taoism. Fan Xun replied in his policy statement He said, "The Dharma King is at ease, with endless changes. He puts the world on a mote of dust, and accepts the sumi of millet." This World Honored One has thousands of Dharma appearances, endless changes, is at ease and free, and does not indulge in the secular world. But the world is disturbed by worldly thoughts. , restricted by the rules, there is no Dharma door. Those who have done many sins will have difficulty entering reincarnation, and their bodies will fall into the nose and suffer all the suffering. The only way to escape is to do good. Those who accumulate merit for good can see the Buddha by obtaining Buddha nature. So what is good? Protect it. Is it a good deed for a sentient being? To save a life and build a seven-level pagoda, how many levels of pagoda will I need to build for my kindness?"

She asked three questions in succession. The surrounding discussions started again, but no one dared to speak out. This Governor Pei actually loved the people like his own son and protected them with his own body. This is considered a great merit.

"The donor has a compassionate heart, so why bother focusing on what is good? Buddhism and Taoism all regard kindness as righteous thoughts." Du Fa replied with a smile.

Hearing this, Pei Jiaoran's eyes were filled with doubts, "They all regard goodness as their righteous thoughts. But Shi Ji enjoys piercing a baby with his dragon spear, so how can he not see that he regards goodness as his righteous thoughts? The so-called righteous thoughts and delusions are nothing but delusions. Those who have attained Buddha nature, that is, Nirvana, are still Are there many people who realize that the Buddha’s nature is empty? People who recite the Buddha’s name can only get the appearance, but cannot understand the meaning. Why do you need to recite the Buddha’s name and worship the Buddha?”

At this point, Pei Jiaoran suddenly opened her eyes, and the flying snow fell rapidly on her shoulders, like a rain of mandala flowers that seemed real and illusory. Under the moonlight, frost suddenly appeared in her eyes, and her lips and teeth moved with sarcasm, "The Zen master is enjoying the offerings from the Buddha. How can you know the suffering of the people? Our dynasty has thousands of miles of fertile land, but how much of it is in the hands of the people? The followers of the Buddha are not only There are only rich people, and there are also poor people, and they should be loved by all. Now that I can hold the scepter, I should dare to be the first in the world to unify all dharma. Whoever accepts the incense and incense of the Zen Master and descends his body to teach me the Dharma is not as good as the great sacrifice. Everything is done to feed the tiger. Everyone in the world knows that the beautiful is beautiful, but this is evil. Everyone knows that the good is good, but this is not good."

After saying this, everyone was in an uproar. Some angry people even stood up, intending to rush forward and beat Pei Jiaoran. But they were all blocked by a human wall composed of Zhou Mancao, other ladies, and state officials.

Pei Jiaoran turned to look at the angry-looking people under the lecture platform. She raised her hand to block the rocks flying towards her, and the night wind gently picked up her clothes.

She knew what the demands of the people in front of her were, and she saw the familiar shadows of many people in the angry crowd. They clamored and complained to vent their dissatisfaction. For a moment, they seemed to have forgotten that the person in front of them was an official they said was close to the people and had protected them many times.
