Hogwarts: Slytherin Kiss
Chapter 2 Diagon Alley
"This bar is not what you think. Many famous people have been here."
Ms. Babuling said with a smile, and then dragged the two little girls into the store. Indra felt nervous, or rather subconsciously alert. She and Hermione held each other's arms, beating in their hearts.
Different from the dirty and dark narrow walls outside the bar, the space inside is larger, with thick old stone walls, like an old-fashioned tavern. Indra noticed that it also has a steep path leading upstairs. The wooden stairs seem to have rooms for people to live on.
This was like a mixed place, with many strange people in different clothes sitting there. Many people looked at them and glanced at them, passing Hermione and circling Indra's body before moving back.
They walked through the bar and came to a small patio in the backyard. They saw Ms. Babuling taking out a dark and slightly curved wand and tapping it three times on a wall. Indra was thinking that this wand really looked like chopsticks. I saw the neatly built turning heads on the wall moving piece by piece, piecing together an archway large enough for people to pass through, leading to a winding cobblestone street.
"Welcome to Diagon Alley"
Indra and Hermione both looked surprised. As they stepped into the street, the brick wall behind them clicked shut again.
"Okay, let's first go to Gringotts, the bank in the wizarding world, to exchange for you the common currency of the wizarding world, gold Galleons, silver Sickles and..."
Ms. Barbling introduced them to the monetary value of the magical world as she walked. Indra and Hermione had not closed their mouths since they came in. They were dazzled by the dazzling array of things around them. Their eyes were glued to one thing and then fell on it immediately. other places.
People in robes and pointed hats flowed on the streets like water, groups of owls of all kinds perched on cages and supports, strange stones, bones, animal skins, internal organs and bones, piled high and unknown. There are spell books from many years ago, white quill pens, and small and exquisite silver and copper utensils...
They couldn't name all of this, but it brought an extremely huge impact.
When Indra came out of the Gringotts lobby, she couldn't help but look back at the strange-looking elves. The pounds in her bag were replaced by heavy coins. She couldn't wait to start shopping!
Hermione muttered while holding the list and looked around, telling Indra what she needed to buy, and then Indra bought two copies and put them in their respective suitcases.
They plan to buy light things first, uniforms, gloves, medicines, etc. in the order on the list, and then textbooks and other things.
The small box contained all the Hogwarts House uniforms bought in Mrs. Malkin's robe shop. Indra and Hermione walked into the bookstore under the leadership of Ms. Barbling. The books and books were stacked from the floor to the ceiling. The endless bookshelves as far as the eye can see are jaw-dropping.
Ms. Barbling took the list and talked with the shop owner, while Indra and Hermione walked around in the sea of books by themselves. Hermione didn't know where to pick up a thick book with a strange shape. It had a fluffy hard cover and rows of teeth covering the pages so that no one could peek through them. Just as the two were about to open it, Ms. Babuling's voice rang out, calling them over.
The two of them pushed the trolley with some difficulty. After all, there were a lot of books and they were very thick.
Compared to the books that Hermione cared about most, Indra's heart was full of mysterious black cloaks, cute owls, those exquisite little cauldron bottles, and of course the most important thing, the wand.
In the end, Hermione got a wand made of vine wood with a core of dragon nerves, while Indra's wand was made of eleven and a quarter inches of blackthorn wood with a core of phoenix feathers.
Fatigue and hunger slightly reduced their enthusiasm and curiosity. Indra and Hermione ate meatloaf bought on the street and prepared to leave Diagon Alley. The fantasy journey was temporarily over.
Ms. Barbling had finished her task and left first. Hermione's parents had already come to the station to pick her up. The two of them left each other's addresses and prepared to write letters. Indra can't wait to try sending messages with an owl!
However, now she can only wait here for the train home, carrying a small trolley of leather suitcases and an owl. From time to time, passers-by look at her curiously.
