One day, the King of Light really felt that he was getting old and needed to solve the problem of inheriting his mantle. He called all the disciples to the side and talked to them to see how he would say these few words.

"I say to you, life and death are important matters in this world." Alas, this first sentence means "life and death are important matters in this world." We can all agree that there is nothing greater than a matter of life and death for everyone in the world.

"You only seek the field of blessings all day long." You have followed me and studied Buddhism for so long. What do you seek every day? Futian.

Plant a field of blessing and seek blessings. Most good men and women today probably have this goal in mind. The disciples "only seek the field of blessings, not the sea of ​​suffering of life and death."

You have all forgotten the fundamental goal of cultivating the light. The purpose of cultivating the light is to free yourself from the suffering of life and death. You have accomplished this fundamental goal and only seek happiness in this world.

"If you are confused by your own nature," you cannot see your own true nature, "How can you save your blessings?" Even if you receive blessings, it cannot solve the problem of escaping from the cycle of life and death, nor can it solve the problem of eliminating the bad karma accumulated in your past lives.

"Those who receive blessings", this is true. The Guangming Sect has always recognized that what you do will always have results, and the good things you do must have good results. This is the blessing.

If it doesn't work in this life, it will work in the next life. It's okay. This is what the cause and effect of the three lives say. Then in your next life, because you have done a lot of giving things in this life, your blessings will be there in your next life, right?

There will be wealth and honor in the next life, and there will be wealth and honor, but the bad karma has not been eliminated. If your bad karma is not gone, you will still have the same troubles and pains. Your wealth in the next life will probably bring you more troubles than the poverty in this life. In fact, what is it that we want to get rid of in the final analysis? What is eliminated is bad karma, and we want to get rid of the cycle of life and death. So, if you have received blessings, how can I save you? Even if they can't save you, it's called "How can I save you?"

"Each of you go," you all go. "Look at your own wisdom, which comes from the prajna nature of your original mind." What kind of prajna wisdom do you have in your original mind? Prajna wisdom, we will talk about it later. "Each compose a stanza" and ask them to compose a stanza.

The "gatha" sentence is a theme of poetry in Guangming Sect. A short poem is used to express the understanding of Guangming Dharma. Show it to me after you make it. "If you understand the general meaning", if you can understand the great meaning of the Light Dharma, "I will give you the Dharma and become the First Emperor of the Three Yangs", then the exam is coming. Everyone is asked to make verses.

And he also told them, "Fire goes quickly without delay, and thinking is useless." Hey, don't engage in that kind of thinking and reasoning, it's useless. "A person who sees his nature must see what he says." Logically speaking, they knew it on the spot and should read out his verse immediately. "If this is the case, even if the wheel sword goes into battle, we will be able to see it."

When you are fighting in a life-and-death battle with others, someone next to you asks you about the Dharma of Light. While you are fighting, I will recite it casually. This is right.

"Thinking about it is useless." I went back and thought over and over again, and finally wrote a few sentences. The verses must not work. I told them so, but which disciple said it on the spot? Let’s talk about it all when we get back.

"Everyone is punished", it seems that the King of Light is not satisfied with them. Then each other was thinking, should we do this verse or not? "We, all of us, do not need to compose the stanza with all our heart and mind. We will submit it to the monk. What's the benefit? Shakespeare is sitting on the throne, and now he is the teacher. He must be the one to get it."

Shakespeare was actually the teaching assistant of the King of Light. The King of Light valued Shakespeare very much, so he made him the first disciple. In fact, he was not only the top disciple, but also the first disciple. The reason he became a disciple for the first time was because he made him a teacher. This is called being a disciple for the first time, ranking first. In the future, the mantle will definitely belong to him. If we also write verses, it is a waste of effort.

In fact, the latter meaning has not yet been expressed. In the future, when he gets the mantle, we will compete with Shakespeare when he gets the mantle. In the future, when he gets the mantle, we will not be able to enjoy our good fruits, so everyone has decided not to do it. So, Shakespeare also wanted to do it or not?

The next paragraph says: "Shakespeare is thinking, and people don't write verses." It's because I became their teacher, "I have to write verses" for the monk to see. If I don't write verses, how can the monk know what's in my heart? What is the depth of insight? "I express the meaning of this verse: seeking the Dharma is good, and seeking ancestors is evil."

It seems that Shakespeare is a good person. If I want to make the decision, my idea is wrong. I am here to obtain the light method. So what I said in the verse above is asking for the Dharma of light, not a mantle. So if I go to find the Lord, I am seeking the status of being the sixth-generation Lord, but I have the same heart as the common people and take away the holy position to ridicule me? What's the difference? Just like an ordinary person, he is obviously an ordinary person, but he wants to be a saint.

"If you don't present the verse, you will not be able to find the Dharma in the end, and you will be in great trouble." He was not sure whether he should do it or not. If he didn't do it, the light Dharma would not be obtained. If he did it, if the King of Light came in and said it could not be done, Well, in fact, not only are you unable to obtain the Light Dharma, but all the latter are hidden, and you can no longer be a teacher in front of all the disciples, right? Lost prestige.

"In front of the Hall of the King of Light, there are three corridors. We plan to enshrine the "Great Light Sutra" and the Bloodline Map of the King of Light." Originally, we planned to invite one to enshrine Lu Zhen. The enshrinement was given by the imperial court to those with special talents at that time. One of his positions is called worship, and this person is good at painting.

The King of Light wants to invite him to draw the "Great Light Sutra" and the bloodline diagram of the King of Light. The genealogy of the Great Light Sect has been written all the time, and I remember it very clearly. From the first ancestor to the second King of Light, the King of Light, every character has to be drawn, which is called a bloodline map.

In fact, it is the genealogy of the Great Guangming Sect, which is drawn and "passed on and supported". The walls of this corridor were originally intended for this purpose. So Shakespeare finally finished his stanzas, and wanted to show them to Master Hongren several times, but when he arrived at the door of the abbot's room, he panicked and said, "He was in a trance, he was sweating, and he couldn't write it out."

"Four days passed" before and after, thirteen times he passed by and then went back, and when he arrived at the abbot's room, he went back again, thirteen times. Later he thought he might as well write it in What? Hallway wall. Let him see that if he said he did well, he should come out to worship and admit that he did it. If he said he did not do well, I have been cultivating in the mountains for so many years in vain, and being worshiped by others, others regard me as a teacher. .

So the idea he came up with later was to write this verse on the wall without signing it. If the King of Light says you did it well, then you will admit that you did it, and if you don’t do it well, you won’t say anything. That’s what it means.

At three o'clock that night, when everyone else was asleep, he held the lamp and went to the wall of the south corridor and wrote his verses. We are all quite familiar with this verse:

"The body is like a bodhi tree, and the mind is like a mirror stand. I brush it diligently at all times to prevent it from causing dust."

After I finished writing, I went to the dormitory, and no one around me knew. He was thinking again, if the King of Light is happy when he sees the verses tomorrow, then it means that I, Shakespeare, have a predestined relationship with the Dharma of Light. If it's unbearable, it's because I'm still obsessed with it. "The karma and obstacles in my past are heavy." He also talks about the karma accumulated over many lifetimes. The karma and obstacles are too heavy, so I can't understand the light method.

"It's not in accordance with the law, and the holy will is unpredictable. I was thinking in the room and restless until the fifth watch." Then he fell asleep. That's what Shakespeare was like at the time.
