Warhammer 40: Mortal Gods

Chapter 1199: Eye of Fear Moves

The eastern part of the human empire's current territory.

Void Monitoring Station.

The stationmaster was awakened in his bedroom and immediately put on his clothes and walked out of the room.

In the corridors connecting the various parts of the monitoring station, scholars and ordinary staff were running around hurriedly.

The stationmaster immediately ordered the monitoring station to prepare for a dimensional jump, and to leave the uninhabited galaxy immediately if any abnormal situation occurred, and then rush to the command deck.

On the command deck, scholars who came from other places gathered together to discuss, and various scientific terms emerged in their discussions.

The stationmaster ignored the scholars, came to the observation system, and adjusted the observation equipment on behalf of the operator.

The part of the stars that this monitoring station is responsible for monitoring is displayed in the observation system.

A purple astronomical system that overflows and looks like the face of some ferocious and hideous creature.

Those stars gathered together and looked like lines.

"Something unusual has happened there." A scholar who was conducting research at the monitoring station at his own expense came over with a thick pile of documents. He piled the documents on the table with a thump and twirled his beard. "That strange unknown astronomical phenomenon is even stranger than what we have observed before."

"It's very strange, I know." The stationmaster didn't even look at the pile of information, but asked, "Didn't the Beliscorona University set up a special research project? Did they find anything?"

"A scientific expedition team went to an uninhabited world near that astronomical anomaly." The scholar's beard trembled. "They died, and then in the images they sent back, they discovered the existence of unknown creatures."

The stationmaster frowned.

The scholar immediately walked to the pile of information, instantly found a document sandwiched among them, then opened the document bag and shook out the contents.

One photo after another.

The scholar glanced at the group of colleagues who were talking behind him and whispered, "I took out an advance on my pension and used it to hire someone to steal these photos from the University of the Beliscorona Sector."

The webmaster stared at the photo.

A green creature was photographed there.

It looks like a fly, a very fat and huge fly.

Other photos also show various unknown creatures.

The monster with bared fangs and claws, the red ghost thing with its tongue sticking out...

The stationmaster entered all these photos into his data pad.

"Don't!" The scholar stretched out his hand to stop him. "Don't digitize them. Can you guarantee that your data board will not be hacked? "

"These things must reach the hands of the Imperial Scientific Research Department as quickly as possible." The stationmaster ignored the obstruction and put the photos back into the file bag.

"Sir, that's mine." The scholar reached out to grab the document.

The stationmaster looked at the scholar coldly and said, "It's not yours. It belongs to the University of Beliscorona. You sent people to steal it from there, so you can expect to be sued."

Hearing this, the scholar withdrew his hand in fear.

The stationmaster glanced at him and asked, "How do you know these photos exist?"

"One of my students was on the scientific expedition team. He sent me a message before he died." The scholar answered truthfully with fear.

"Okay, I get it." The webmaster looked down at the old man who was a head shorter than him and threatened in a deep voice: "If you keep the attachments, I guarantee that you will get the most severe punishment. Otherwise, I will explain in detail in the report why you stole the photos, and then we will offset your merits and demerits."

The scholars were silent.

"Guys," the stationmaster said, walking up to the group that was talking loudly, "give that unusual astronomical phenomenon a name so I can write a report."

“It has a name.”

Someone answered.

"Cygnus Anomaly X-1."

……

"Cygnus Anomaly X-1."

"That's the fucking Eye of Terror I was talking about."

Qin Mo looked at everything outside the porthole.

He was on a ship at this time.

Fully automated ship.

This vessel is controlled by the Emperor's psychic powers and requires no crew to function.

Of course, there was no one else on the ship except Qin Mo.

The emperor standing behind Qin Mo was not his real self, but a psychic projection.

The Emperor found that he could not allow any kind of spiritual energy to exist permanently in the place where Qin Mo was, but now he can.

As the ship got closer and closer to the Eye of Terror, the Emperor even found that he didn't need to pay any attention to make his psychic projection always exist beside Qin Mo.

"The demons are leaving the Eye of Terror." The Emperor's true self looked at the photo, while the psychic projection frowned. "But... why? They feel tortured in the real universe, why would they choose to leave the Eye of Terror? And they have no target to attack, they are aimless."

"I'll look into it."

This is Qin Mo’s purpose, to find out why the demons left the Eye of Terror and did not seem to be driven by the gods to cause trouble in the real universe.

The emperor is responsible for stabilizing the overall situation, and he has too much experience in such matters.

As for what the sighting of the demon had triggered...

Many people already know about the existence of the devil. Although the information sent by the monitoring station is encrypted, there must be someone handling it along the way.

However, those who discovered the devil did not react much.

They felt that those unknown creatures were very similar to demons, but no matter what kind of demons they were, the various demons that had appeared in human history and those discovered now were all considered to be creatures created by the idealistic forces of unknown origin recognized by Imperial Truth 2.0.

The empire's scientific research department has even begun discussing how to design anti-demon weapons - by studying existing people who have discovered idealistic powers, and designing weapons to counter idealistic powers.

"Although the presence of this projection is no different from my presence in person, I can use the same power, but... be careful." The Emperor warned, "Use the spear I gave you, it can kill Warp creatures."

"I can do it myself." Qin Mo said suddenly.

"You?" The Emperor looked at Qin Mo suspiciously, "You haven't even seen a demon."

Qin Mo didn't answer.

The ship was getting closer and closer to the Eye of Terror.

The Emperor's psychic projection began to gain insight into what was happening within the Eye of Terror.

Psionics is so convenient, provided that it is stable.

There is no need to stay in the Eye of Terror for a long time to gather information, and there is no need to interrogate demons. The Emperor can see into the past and future of demons, and then easily...

"I can't see what those demons have experienced." The Emperor's psychic projection opened its eyes and stopped perceiving. "I can only see an abnormality in the Eye of Terror. It seems that something has appeared there."

"Are you sure that has something to do with the demon leaving the Eye of Terror?" Qin Mo asked.

"Otherwise I won't be able to see anything else." The Emperor controlled the ship to speed up and sail towards the Eye of Terror. "Let's go directly there."
