Chapter 1110 Prison Break Plan
Chapter 1110 Prison Break Plan
Nowadays, all office work is done electronically. Although high-tech such as AI has not been used yet, things like comparing lists are not that complicated.
Cassell was obviously not proficient in using EXCEL spreadsheets, and Jack did not expect him to be able to help in this regard, but running errands and buying coffee and afternoon tea were indeed things he was good at.
As it grew dark, the results came out, and everyone was surprised to find that they did not find any record of Dr. Monroe's visit to the prison, but found an unexpected person.
"Nurse Greg? Are you sure?" Cassel asked vaguely while biting half a donut.
"And for the past three years, he has been visiting a female prisoner named Amy Porter at the Bedford Hills Women's Prison every week."
Jack spread out the information he had just printed out on the table. On it was a photo of the prisoner, a very pretty brown-haired beauty who looked to be in her early 20s.
"She was sentenced to 30 years in prison for being the getaway driver in an attempted money truck robbery.
A guard was shot and killed during the robbery, and Greg served as a character witness during the trial.
"You mean, they are actually a couple?" Cassel suddenly realized.
“Hmm.” Beckett tilted his head and looked at him, indicating that it was time for the great writer to use his imagination, and Cassel did not disappoint.
"Dr. Monroe was investigating medical fraud at the county hospital and the possible existence of a hidden drug smuggling ring. She may have discovered that it was Greg who secretly stole the pills from the hospital and smuggled them to Amy in prison."
"And then Amy sells it in prison," Beckett said, adding that the illegal sale of drugs in low-security prisons is a lucrative business.
"So my guess was correct." Cassel suddenly became very proud. "Greg's motives are indeed impure. He is not the sweet man we thought he was. He became the best friend of those female doctors just to take advantage of them."
"Esposito, contact the warden of Bedford Hills Prison and have him send someone to search Amy's cell immediately and bring her to us for questioning."
Hearing Beckett's instructions, Esposito nodded and immediately picked up the telephone receiver on the table.
But two minutes later, the Latino detective put down the phone with a strange expression on his face and looked at everyone, "The prison said that Amy Porter had a stroke early this morning!"
This time even Jack looked at him in surprise, "The information says she's only 25 years old and weighs less than 120 pounds. A stroke? Seriously?"
Esposito nodded innocently, "And they said they've taken the prisoner to the county hospital."
"County Hospital?" Cassel said in confusion, "Why send her here? Isn't there a hospital near the prison?"
Beckett could obviously answer this question, "Because the only safe ward nearby is the county hospital, but Greg happens to work there, isn't it too much of a coincidence?"
"Obviously this is not a coincidence." Jack took out his car keys. "What we are dealing with is not some medical fraud, but a long-planned prison break."
-
In the county hospital, Beckett found a female doctor with a cane. "Dr. Phillips, do you have a female patient named Amy Porter who was transferred from prison?"
"There was one before." The female doctor looked at the three people in a hurry with a surprised expression, not understanding why they were so anxious. "But she didn't make it. She died during the MRI examination."
"Dead?" The development of events was beyond everyone's expectations again and again.
Jack turned and left, "Notify Kevin and Esposito to immediately seal off all entrances and exits of the hospital. We're going to the morgue."
Ten minutes later, a hospital staff member opened the freezer at the urging of the three people. As the body bag was pulled open, the body of a black woman in her 50s was revealed.
Beckett still had a photo of Amy Porter in his hand, ready to do a comparison, but that was obviously no longer necessary.

Late at night, a group of NYPD detectives, Jack the FBI, Mr. Writer, and Lanny the forensic doctor who was called in to help returned to the 12th Precinct one after another, slumped in their seats exhaustedly, staring at each other.
"I can't believe it. Greg fooled everyone, including our FBI who are well versed in criminal psychology." As soon as Cassel opened his mouth, Jack gave him the middle finger.
"I admit that this guy is a genius and planned an amazing prison escape plan, but this does not mean that Greg is the murderer of Dr. Monroe."
An FBI agent who is "proficient" in criminal psychology reminded, "Although Lanny said she figured out how Greg helped Amy escape from prison, he still has a very solid alibi for Dr. Monroe's murder."
"Maybe he has an assistant." Cassel curled his lips, "Given that he was able to successfully 'charm' so many female doctors to become his indirect accomplices, it shouldn't be difficult to find another assistant, right?"
"A helper who is willing to help him kill people?" Jack disagreed with his forced explanation, "None of those female doctors have slept with him, which shows that the relationship between Greg and Amy is quite sincere.
What kind of person could be so ‘noble’ as to bear the charge of murder for the sake of helping this young couple?”
"Maybe it's just for the money." Cassel was still trying to force an explanation, but was interrupted by Beckett, "Esposito and Kevin went to investigate Greg's financial situation. Let Lannie explain how they completed this prison break first."
Perhaps because she could only use her expertise in her own forensic office, Lannie, the forensic doctor who was specially invited this time to explain the past to a few people, seemed a little excited.
The "Greg Galaxy" evidence board that Kevin had made earlier was pulled out and shown to several people. The female forensic doctor drew a circle on it with her right hand.
"Every female doctor who has a friendly relationship with Greg has directly or indirectly helped Amy Porter escape from prison. The key is some medicines and documents that need to be signed."
"Yes, we guessed about this, but how did Greg do it specifically? How did he successfully fake Amy's death?" Cassell raised his hand and asked.
“It started with pharmacist Lisa Ackerman, who privately gave Greg a box of acetyl hexapeptide-3, a botulinum toxin-like cream that, in small doses, can eliminate wrinkles.
But if you apply the entire tube to one cheek at a time."
Jack quickly answered, "It will cause temporary atrophy of facial muscles and fake the symptoms of a stroke."
"Smart! A little red flower as a reward." Teacher Lanny was quite pleased.
