A day of learning magic at Hogwarts
Chapter 1 Mr. Drizzt
The hottest day in midsummer is finally coming to an end.
In the parking lot of the Financial City on the north bank of the Thames River in central London, business elites who have just finished their day's work are arriving one after another, preparing to drive home.
However, they were somewhat surprised to find a makeshift pocket stage in the parking lot not far from the entrance.
The protagonist on the stage is a young gentleman——
He definitely looked no older than 11 years old, with a slim build and wearing a neat tuxedo.
"What are you doing?" a curious voice asked at this time.
"It's a magic show, sir!"
The boy in the tuxedo answered with a smile.
His voice is very clear and seems to be more mature than his age:
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Ian Twisted's magic show."
……
"Magic show?" Many tired business elites were attracted by the child's words.
They all stopped.
Ian had already started. He took out four magic hats and placed them on the pocket stage in front of him.
He bowed lightly to the crowd in front of him.
Finally, he looked around and said to himself: "Let me think about what to use today!"
A few seconds later, he found his target in the parking lot——
a cat.
To be more precise, it was a tabby cat with strange textures around its eyes; it stood motionless in the corner of the parking lot, watching everything happening in front of it.
It should be a stray cat; if Ian remembered correctly, he had seen it standing there like this a few hours ago, and it seemed that its posture had not even changed.
"The decision is yours, cutie!"
He jogged a few steps and picked up the cat.
The kitten was very "docile" and did not resist at all.Just let Ian put it on stage.
Then Ian picked up one of the hats and covered the cat.
Then he placed the other three empty hats on the right side of the hat with the cat in them, and lined them up in a row.
Finally, he took out a piece of black cloth and gently covered the four hats.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on the black cloth.
A mysterious expression appeared on Ian's face: "The next step is to witness the miracle!"
……
After lifting up the black cloth, Ian first looked at the magic hat on the far left (theoretically where the cat should be).
Slowly, he lifted the hat bit by bit; as if he was unveiling a mysterious veil.
"Oh God!" The office workers around him exclaimed.
The hat was empty.
The cat from before is gone!
"Can I check it out?" A strange voice sounded from the crowd.
It was a tall man in a black suit, and he pointed to the hat in Ian's hand.
"Of course!" The little magician smiled and nodded, then handed the hat over.
The tall man took it and checked it up and down curiously; but he didn't find any clues.
Several onlookers around also passed the hat one after another:
It's just an ordinary hat, without layers or mechanisms. It's so normal that it can't be normal anymore.
After the questioning eyes gradually dissipated, Ian took back the hat and put it back to its original position on the stage.
Then he followed the same pattern and opened the second hat from the left hand side; it was also empty.
Then the third top, still nothing.
Now, only the last hat remains that has not been lifted.
The crowd was whispering and discussing what means the little magician used to move the cat in the hat, which was originally on the far left, to the far right.
Ian did not hesitate, but directly "revealed the truth" for everyone, opening the last hat——
"Disappeared?" Exclaims sounded from the crowd again.
Because this last hat is actually empty.
Four hats, all empty; then, where did the cat go?
Looking at the increasingly noisy crowd, Ian smiled and shook his head at everyone, signaling not to panic.
His left hand gently pressed on the leftmost hat again.
That is, the hat that was opened first, passed around for inspection, and finally returned to its original place.
Take your time, take your time, and open it again.
"Meow!" A clear cat meowed.
The tabby cat, which had disappeared for a few minutes, reappeared in everyone's sight. It's hiding in this hat.
It was definitely the same one as before: the lines around the eyes were exactly the same.
"awesome!"
"magic!"
"Wonderful!"
The crowd instantly became excited and they applauded one after another.
Ian picked up the cat again and placed it back in the corner of the parking lot.
The tall man in a black suit chased after him, his face full of curiosity: "How did you do that?"
He had carefully inspected the hat before, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it; but the magic happened just like that, in front of everyone's eyes.
"As you can see, sir!" the little magician said sincerely, "I just made the cat disappear from space for a short time!"
"Cunning answer!" The tall man shook his head helplessly.
He also gave up asking further, but took out a 50 pound note from his pocket and handed it to the young gentleman in front of him.
"This is the best magic show I've ever seen, and here's a tip for you."
……
An hour later, the last people in the parking lot left.
Ian Traister ended his performance and began to take stock of the day's gains.
All tips added up to £369 25p.
He picked up one of the 50-pound notes, came to the entrance of the parking lot, and handed it to the parking lot administrator, a wizened old man with almost all his hair.
The old man took the banknote with satisfaction: "It's getting late, go back early, kid!"
"Leave immediately!"
So the real return is £319 25p, almost a third lower than yesterday.
It seems that in a few days, I will start preparing to change the venue to perform.
Ian raised his head and suddenly saw the convenience store with the lights still on at the entrance of the parking lot; he suddenly remembered something and trotted in quickly.
Then, a minute later, he ran back to the parking lot with a can of sardines in his hand.
The spotted cat was still standing in the corner of the parking lot, maintaining the same posture as before.
Ian walked over, opened the sardine can, and handed it over.
"Little cutie, this is for you, thank you for your help today!"
The cat gently sniffed the smell coming from the can, and the expression on his face seemed to be unable to resist the temptation of the delicious food inside.
But then, a jaw-dropping scene appeared——
The tabby cat was gone, replaced by a serious-looking woman wearing a pair of square glasses that looked exactly like the lines around the cat's eyes.
"You're welcome, Mr. Drizzt!" Her tone was a little harsh.
