Professor of Gemology at Hogwarts

Chapter 1 begins at the Ministry of Magic

Gray was sitting in his office, looking at today's Daily Prophet.

"Gray! There's a new situation! Let's go! We have detected magical fluctuations in London."

A man strode in, with one hand on the desk, but accidentally knocked down the name tag on the table. He didn't care about his rash move, looked at Gray with a smile, and quickly put the name tag back upright. It read - Gray Morris.

Gray Morris, he still doesn’t know how he traveled to England in 1971.

Originally, he was an ordinary college student, preparing for the final exam...but his vision went dark and he was in a trance. When he regained consciousness, he found that he was a baby.

Moreover, his parents were foreigners. What even surprised him was that this was a magical world.

His mother Frandy died when he was seven years old. It wasn't until Gray received a letter from Hogwarts when he was 11 years old that he was told that his mother was a wizard and that she died in a mission and was not in a car accident as mentioned.

His father, Saint, is a Muggle doctor and does not know magic. Now in their family, father and son, one works in the wizarding world and the other works in the Muggle world.

With the experience of his previous life, he made a little investment with his father, and the income was considerable. You want to ask him which one to choose between magic and money?Whatever he chooses!

"Where did it happen? Arnold." Gray stood up immediately, walked to a wooden lacquered chair against the wall, and picked up the shirt and jacket he put on it.

"London Zoo, near the Reptile House."

Gray quickly walked to the door of the office and looked up at the calendar hanging on the wall - June 1991, 6.

"Today is the weekend. There are so many people at the zoo. I am very busy now." Arnold sighed.

London Zoo, weekend, reptile house.

Gray seemed to know what was going to happen.

The Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters is the department within the British Ministry of Magic responsible for dealing with magical accidents and repairing accidental magical damage.

Gray Morris is a member of the team that reverses accidental magical events, and Arnold Peacegood is an amnesiac in the Amnesia Department, responsible for erasing the memories of Muggles.

They are often called upon to clean up the mess that wizards and wizards have made in the Muggle world.

The two people left the office together and passed through the long corridor. There were many magical regulations posted on the wall, such as the "Ministry of Magic Order", "25 Laws on Interacting with Muggles", "Secretary Law", and "Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards Law" 》.

Not far away, directly in front of the foyer hangs the logo and abbreviation of the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters - dmac.

"More and more magic fluctuations have been detected recently. Is school going to start soon?" Arnold muttered, "Children who have never been exposed to magic do not know how to use them, so they release magic and cause so many accidents."

"Fortunately, the accident was not serious!" Gray patted Arnold's shoulder and said, "Stop complaining. Do you dare to say that you didn't make any trouble before going to school?"

The two of them passed through an oak door and came to a smaller hall over there. There were at least twenty elevators there, blocked by exquisite golden fence doors.

It happened that only some people were on duty during the weekend, so the elevator entrance in the lobby was not as crowded as before.

With a tinkling and clicking sound, an elevator descended in front of them.

"The third floor is the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters, including the team for reversing accidental magical events, the Memory Cancellation Command, and the Muggle Issues Mediation Committee." A woman's voice came from the top of the elevator, which was used for announcements on each floor.

The golden grating door slid open slightly, and there was another person standing in the elevator. He was tall and thin, wearing glasses, and his red hair was very easy to identify. The head of the Department for the Misuse of Muggle Items, Arthur Weasley.

He and Gray's mother were students who graduated from Hogwarts in the same grade, and Arthur was very interested in Muggle things, so the two families had always had a good relationship.

"Good morning, Gray! Arnold!"

"Good morning! Mr. Weasley!"

"Are you going on a mission again?"

"Yes, the London Zoo is detecting magic fluctuations. We are going to take a look. Everyone is on vacation on the weekends, but they are our busiest days. The duty schedule of the Ministry of Magic is very unreasonable."

Gray saw that Arthur Weasley's hat was worn crookedly, a few strands of hair were disheveled, and his face was full of exhaustion and lack of energy.

"Mr. Weasley seems to be very busy lately."

"Yes, I suppose so. The enchanted tea set found its way into the hands of a Muggle."

Arthur Weasley saw Gray glance at the top of his head, so he took off his hat and smoothed his hair.

"As a result, the teapot suddenly went crazy, scalding hot water sprayed everywhere, and a man was admitted to the hospital with a sugar cube clamp on his nose. Perkins and I had to use forgetting spells and various methods to remove it. Cover up the past.”

"I guess I'll help out if we get this zoo thing done quickly." Arnold smiled.

"Thank you very much! It is really troublesome to modify the memory! But now we have reached the final stage. We only need to recover the tea set and make the final report."

Arthur Weasley nodded gratefully.

"I'm really busy this time. Some wizards always enchant Muggle items, but they don't know that the final impact is greater than they imagined..."

Arnold raised his eyebrows and remained silent. Gray knew what he was thinking. Although Arthur Weasley's supervisor prohibited the misuse of magic on Muggle items, he often found loopholes to collect some Muggle items and take them home. Even those The relevant decrees were written by himself.

And Arthur Weasley doesn't know that he will be even worse a year later, and his youngest son Ron will cheat his father severely in the future.

In the original book, Ron would drive a flying car to school, causing Arthur to be censored by the Ministry of Magic and almost lose his job.

The elevator went down one level at a time. Gray looked at the opening and closing of the elevator door expressionlessly as he went to deal with the accident at the zoo. He was about to come into contact with the real plot for the first time, and he couldn't help but think about the future he had conceived.

It was the summer of 1982 when I first received the letter.

What Gray has to do is to provide Dumbledore with some tips about Horcruxes at critical moments, avoid the tragic death of some people, and then hide his merit and fame.

Forget it just head on, what if Avada kills him?As long as he moved his mouth a little and provided some clues about the Horcrux, he could trick Voldemort to death. As for Muggle life, he invested with his father, relying on the memories of his past life, and the investment returns were considerable.

Therefore, in these years, without the interference of Voldemort and the Ministry of Magic, this period of school time passed very peacefully. Gray did not care about the Horcruxes and simply enjoyed seven years of life in Hogwarts.

Because of his good newt results, he successfully joined the Ministry of Magic after graduating in 1989. Gray even felt that his growth path was exactly the same as Percy Weasley.

The magical world is full of dangers, so he has to be careful every step of the way to avoid future wars in the wizarding world. However, this makes him feel a bit regretful. Will he continue to go on like this?

When the elevator reached the lobby level, they walked out of the door. Eric, who was responsible for the security check of outsiders entering the door, had already picked up today's Daily Prophet and started to kill time.He was sitting on the table next to the door. He was a man in peacock blue robes and had a clean shave, as if he had just woken up.

Arriving at the splendid hall, there were dark wooden floors that had been polished brightly.

The walls on all sides are lined with dark, shiny wooden boards. Many gilded fireplaces are embedded in the wooden boards. Several wizards came out through the floo powder. From time to time, there were explosions in the hall, which were the sounds of people apparating away. .

After bidding farewell to Mr. Weasley, the two of them used Apparition at the same time and disappeared into the splendid and bustling hall of the Ministry of Magic in an instant.

The scene in front of Gray changed. The two people were standing in a deserted street corner. A few weeds sprouting from the corner were the only living things besides the two of them.

Gray looked around and confirmed his location. They were now next to an abandoned warehouse in the southwest corner of the London Zoo.

"I have an idea. If those people transformed the zoo and turned it into a place where lions live, wouldn't we..." Arnold said half-jokingly.

Gray glanced at him: "Then you can see the lions up close, and you don't have to buy a ticket, right?"

Arnold often comes up with all kinds of strange ideas. Gray is his partner and is completely accustomed to his jumping thinking.

But he didn't have to worry too much, because the seniors of the Ministry of Magic had already thought of this situation, and therefore their staff would regularly take turns to survey the on-site landmarks.

At this moment, Gray heard shouting not far away.

"It should be over there!" Gray pointed diagonally forward.
