Hogwarts Melting Ice Journey

Chapter 34 Surprise in the courtyard

Stephen would never have thought that even though he had enough reasons to rule out the possibility of Ben appearing in the courtyard, things would often not go as planned and would instead be full of surprises.

Merula did not block Stephen and Rowan in the restaurant, so she had to arrive in the courtyard first to ambush them. She believed that after Rowan saw the letter on his table, he would definitely come to the courtyard, and then she would be able to force Stephen into the courtyard so that she could make a sneak attack.

Unfortunately, things were not as they thought. Merula hid in the dark and saw that the person coming to the courtyard was Bencopper.

"What's going on? Isn't that coward still in the campus hospital?" Merula felt strange. "Logically speaking, he doesn't know about this. Who told him?"

Merula observed Ben's actions. Ben walked into the courtyard with his wand. He glanced around and then behind him. After confirming that no one was following him, he quickly walked into the courtyard. He seemed to be looking for something.

Merula took out an invisibility cloak and put it on herself. It was a gift she received on her birthday. She originally planned to wear this to sneak attack Stephen, but she didn't expect that it would come in handy so soon.

She saw Ben searching for her, carefully avoiding Ben's path, and then she thought of a way to scare Ben away.

Merula walked up to Ben and was about to pat him on the shoulder. Based on her understanding of Ben, this would scare the coward half to death.

But before Ben was photographed, he noticed something: "Who is behind me?"

Ben took a step forward, then turned around and pointed the wand in the direction just behind him: "Fire is blazing"

"Merlin's socks" Merula muttered silently in her mind, and started to back away quickly without much thought. Then she tripped and fell to the ground. Although the fall was not very beautiful, it also allowed her to barely avoid the flames released by Ben.

Ben looked around suspiciously, feeling that he was being suspicious. But he still felt a little uneasy, so he tapped the ground with his wand.

"Damn" Merula ignored the pain in her body and hurriedly got up and jumped onto a stone bench.

I saw many stone spikes appearing on the ground. Judging from the sharpness of those spikes, they were enough to pierce a person. The spikes erupted very quickly. If Merula had been just a few seconds late, her student career would have been over.

After confirming that no one was there, Ben waved his wand to make all the spikes disappear. He had to continue searching for what he was looking for.

Soon he found the book Merula had hidden in the courtyard. Ben picked up the book and flipped through it, "Huh, it turns out it's just some tricks of a little wizard. I thought that idiot Jacob really left something behind. Something for his dear brother."

Ben threw the book back to its original position, suddenly frowned slightly, and rolled to his left side. There was only a "bang" sound, and a huge boulder around where he was standing was cut into three pieces by two wind blades.

Merula got down from the stone bench where she was just now, found a boulder to hide behind, and quietly observed the situation.

Ben pointed his wand towards the location where the wind blade had just been released, and a dozen light arrows were released from the top of the wand. The light arrows flew directly from that location, filling a rocky mountain.

"Interesting, you are not Copper, who are you?"

Merula recognized the voice of Professor Snape, "Why is Professor Snape here?"

"I don't think I need to tell you, because you will die soon." Ben let out a sinister laugh, "Thousands of arrows are fired."

Ben's wand released more light arrows. Snape waved his wand and created a stone wall to block all the light arrows. Then the stone wall quickly disappeared.

Immediately after the stone wall disappeared, Snape released a series of wind blades. Merula only saw several consecutive rolls, avoiding all of Snape's wind blades.

"Avada Kedavra" A green light flew quickly from Merula's eyes. Professor Snape avoided the stone mountain nearby. The green light smashed the stone mountain into pieces. Taking advantage of the smoke caused by the stone mountain's shattering, Blocking Ben's sight, Professor Snape fired several white beams of light around Ben.

Ben waved his wand, and an invisible wall blocked the beam one by one. When Merula looked carefully, she could also find some ripples on the hit location.

"It seems that I underestimated you, Snape." Ben snapped his fingers, "I am very busy and have no time to waste time with you here. Goodbye, Severus Snape."

A house elf appeared with Ben's snap of his fingers, and then he pulled Ben's clothes and snapped his fingers, and the two of them disappeared into the courtyard with a twist.

Snape looked at Ben who had disappeared with a livid face, his eyes full of coldness. Snape walked to the place where Ben disappeared and pulled out a book from under the stone broken by his spell. He opened it and took a look.

"Extremely stupid." Snape smashed the book to the ground. There was no content in the pages that were opened above. "Someone is using the Cursed Vault to fool me."

Snape waved his wand, restoring the messy courtyard to its original state, and then walked out of the courtyard quickly. When he was about to walk out of the courtyard, Snape suddenly turned around and looked at where Merula was hiding.

Merula hurriedly put her head behind the boulder and covered her mouth with her hands to make as little noise as possible. Snape looked at it for a few seconds, then turned and walked out of the courtyard door.

After Merula heard Professor Snape's footsteps getting further and further away, she let go of her hand and gasped.

"Merlin bless you, what happened just now? It's not Ben who came here, and then there was Professor Snape. What did they come for?" Merula thought about the battle just now.

"Could it be that they are all looking for that book? But what I wrote in the letter to Rowan is that it is just a book about advanced transfiguration. Damn it, could it be Stephen? What did he do?"

Merula stuck her head out of the boulder and after confirming that no one was there, she hurriedly left the courtyard.

On the way, Merula tried her best not to hit the people passing by, and she was still wearing an invisibility cloak. "No, I have to ask Stephen. This guy almost killed me."

But Merula will definitely not be able to find Stephen and the others this afternoon. The three of them have been practicing in the Room of Requirement.

Stephen tutored Petunia for almost an hour. Within this hour, Petunia mastered some of the spell-casting skills that he and Rowan had studied based on Jacob's notes, which was already very fast for someone who had just learned.

"Stephen, I think I have to thank you for teaching me such an important method directly." Penny looked at Stephen with sincere eyes, and she was grateful from the bottom of her heart.

"You're welcome, Penny, you are our friend." Stephen waved his hand, "When the time comes, we will also spread these methods, but now."

Stephen shrugged, "You know, You-Know-Who."

Penny nodded: "I know, Stephen, I will not reveal these methods without unanimous consent."

The three of them continued to stay in the Room of Requirement. They planned to go back when it was almost time to go to bed. The house elves were so kind and packed a lot of food for them, including tonight's dinner.
