Hogwarts Melting Ice Journey
Chapter 32 Unsolved Mysteries—What is Martin Afraid of?
Snape soon received the letter from Stephen. He opened the envelope and read it quickly, with a flash of surprise in his eyes. He burned the letter and quietly left Hogwarts.
Rowan returned to the dormitory before bedtime and brought back a lot of books.
"Rowan, can you really read all these books?" Stephen was shocked by the number of books Rowan brought.
Rowan put the book on the bedside table, wiped his sweat, and then sat down on the bed: "I think I should be able to, but it may take a few weeks."
"That's surprising enough." Stephen stood up and filled Rowan's glass with water, "Here."
"Oh, thank you, this is what I need most right now." Rowan picked up the cup and drank half of it in one breath.
Stephen waited for him to breathe evenly and asked: "By the way, Rowan, do you remember the letter from Merula?"
Rowan put the cup back on his bedside table. He looked at Stephen, a little curious about what he was going to say: "Of course you remember, aren't we already ready to go?"
"I thought there would be some way for Merula to force me to go to the courtyard tomorrow, so I made a plan..." Stephen told Rowan his plan and reminded him of the need Things to note.
"Seriously, this plan is..." Rowan suddenly felt that he was lacking in words. He paused for a few seconds before thinking of what to say, "It's so subtle. But have you ever thought about Snape?" What about the situation where the professor doesn’t believe the letter?”
"He will definitely believe it." Stephen didn't care much about this. "Even if Snape doesn't believe the letter, it won't have any impact on us."
Rowan thought for a while: "emmm, I think you are right, but I still have a question, why are you so sure that Merula will start with me."
"She probably doesn't know about my relationship with Petunia. Even if she knew, I don't think she would do anything to Petunia. Don't forget that Petunia is the most popular student in the first grade." Stephen said what he said about himself Thought, "Merula shouldn't be stupid enough to provoke so many people."
"As for Ben, I hope Merula can get him out of Madam Pomfrey and she won't use these tricks."
Rowan laughed, "I think you are right, it is not an ordinary difficulty to get someone out of Madam Pomfrey. I was almost stopped by her last time."
Speaking of what happened last time, Rowan thought of Chiara.
"Chiara probably hasn't done much recently," Rowan lowered his voice.
"I don't think so. If there was any trouble among the first-year students at Hogwarts, Martin would have come out to warn us." Stephen looked around to make sure that Martin was not nearby.
"Forget about Martin, he seems to have never existed in the school recently." Rowan complained, "Except when I observed him in class, he was nowhere to be seen at other times."
Speaking of Martin, Stephen suddenly wondered what Martin was afraid of, and he found that he seemed to have no impression.
"Rowan, do you remember what Martin was afraid of during Defense Against the Dark Arts?"
Rowan was stunned for a moment: "Didn't you notice him? I thought you would observe him. I feel like I don't even have an impression of whether he was in the classroom that day."
Both of them were speechless. Why did Martin always let others ignore his existence...
Friday morning classes passed quickly and Stephen and Rowan arrived in the dining room. As soon as they entered the door, they found that Merula and her two followers, let's call them followers for now, were already waiting at their usual place.
"Stephen, do you think we should change places?" Rowan asked quietly.
"Isn't the best way not to enter the restaurant?" Stephen refuted the suggestion and gave his own plan.
"Good idea." Rowan nodded in agreement, and the two exited the door.
"Hey Stephen, and Rowan. What are you two doing here? Aren't you going to go in?" The two of them were frightened by the sudden greeting, and turned around to see it was Penny and her friends.
"Hi, Petunia." The two greeted Petunia, and Stephen pointed to the place where the two usually sat, "As you can see."
Penny glanced in the direction Stephen was pointing and quickly understood what Stephen meant, "Oh, it turns out it's Merula and the others. I heard that you and her are going to have a duel this afternoon."
Stephen looked at Penny with curious eyes: "Who said that? I never promised her."
Penny laughed: "Stephen, have you forgotten that I can say a few words to the first-year students? This was told to me by a girl next to Merula. I think her name is Jesse. Miles, yes, that’s the name.”
"I think you didn't tell anyone else." Stephen had a headache. If many people knew about the duel, it would probably cause a lot of trouble.
"I believe the eaglets in Ravenclaw are very smart."
Stephen shrugged: "It seems that there is no more, Rowan, I think we have to carefully consider whether to go in."
Petunia whispered something to her friends. Her friends looked at Stephen with playful eyes and left Petunia at the door.
"Since you don't plan to go in, how are you going to settle your lunch?" Penny stood opposite Stephen and looked at the two of them.
Stephen turned to look at Penny's friends walking into the restaurant, then looked back at Penny: "Why don't you follow them in?"
"I'm more curious about how you prepare your own lunch. I heard others say that you know many secret places in the school."
Stephen frowned: "Who told you this? How come I didn't know someone told me that."
"Of course it's a secret." Penny didn't seem to want to explain it. "Knowing a lot of things means you need to keep it secret. I think you can safely take me to those secret places. To be honest, I am very impressed by the secrets you know. Interested, I can promise that I won’t say it casually.”
I won’t say it out casually, which means I can still say it out. Stephen shook his head helplessly. He asked Rowan for his opinion with his eyes. The two exchanged eyes for a few seconds and finally reached an agreement.
"Okay, but you have to promise not to say where we are going without the unanimous consent of the three of us." There was a hint of helplessness in Stephen's voice.
"Penny, I think you must know how to get into the kitchen," Stephen asked as he went downstairs.
"Isn't it right next to the Hufflepuff common room? I don't think this is an important secret." Petunia answered his question casually, "The kitchen is located there. It is said that it was Ms. Hufflepuff's idea."
"The place we are going to is not just the kitchen, we are going there just to fill our bellies."
