62. The Final Proof!

In a moment, Kephir and Nilu seemed to share a kind of “signal,” and when I blinked and looked again, one black and one white, the two shadows had already intertwined!

In an instant, everything that had seemed frozen and stagnant began to move again. The wind howled, thunder roared, and the two women unleashed all the “treasures” they had— the powers of the fairies—turning everything around them into a chaotic and surreal whirlwind!

I did not use the script to pry into the outcome of Kephir and Nilu’s “proof,” nor did I offer any advice to Kephir or Nilu through the script. I couldn’t do that, and to be honest… I simply couldn’t.

Because everything in the script, every prediction, paled in comparison to the full efforts of Kephir and Nilu, becoming utterly irrelevant! This was a “final battlefield” that belonged solely to Kephir and Nilu!

The two women had already fully harnessed the powers of their respective fairies. Although I had sensed this before, at that moment, witnessing the interplay of light and shadow, I had to admit it was indeed so! The fire fairy, Jias, and the ice fairy, Alsas; the wind fairy, Magnus, and the thunder fairy, Zeus; the dark fairy, Ignis, along with the chaos fairy, Claudilus, combined with the insight of the fairy Icarus and the moon fairy, Eliss…

Spirit and resistance; defense and offense; the mutual transformation and collision of magic…

The powers of the fairies that Kephir obtained and those of Nilu were both complementary and antagonistic. Kephir and Nilu, protagonist and boss, were intertwined like master and servant, destined rivals.

In the clash of fairies, the collision of power and magic, for a moment, Kephir and Nilu were evenly matched! Amidst the clash of blades, Nilu fixed her gaze on Kephir herself!

“Kephir, haven’t you realized? He was always mine, always looking only at me! You understand nothing, and you can’t protect him at all! Everything you gain by relying on his sacrifices is just using his power! It will only make him more dangerous!”

Alsas froze into ice, blocking Nilu’s attack with Ignis aimed at Kephir. Even I, no matter how foolish, could see that neither Kephir nor Nilu was considering any notion of “mercy” at that moment!

“So what… You say I can do it, and so can you. Then let me answer you now… Nilu, what you can do, I can do too! Right now, I am proving it to you!”

This proof, of course, would be derived in the most primal, straightforward way. Otherwise, no one would acknowledge anyone! Just like Nilu’s response in the next moment!

The power of the chaos fairy was silent and formless, and in the blink of an eye, it had already sent Kephir flying! Then came the immense pressure! Kephir barely escaped, skimming the edge of her magic; otherwise, she would have been crushed by this colorless, tasteless, formless power in the next moment!

And this was just the beginning!

Following closely was the roaring flame of the fire fairy, Jias. The gusts of wind did not extinguish the flames; on the contrary, they burned even more fiercely, like a dragon of fire rising from the ground, sweeping up everything around it, roaring toward Kephir! Then, under Nilu’s control, it spiraled and soared, relentlessly pursuing Kephir’s figure!

“Proof? What good is your proof!? Kephir! ●●! He can belong to anyone, but he will never belong to you!!”

Kephir did not respond, perhaps… she didn’t have time to answer, after all, being relentlessly pursued by powerful magic, she was using all her strength just to evade!

I was certainly flustered, but I desperately suppressed the urge to look at the script!

This was a battle I could not interfere with. If I were to glance at the script because of Kephir’s momentary disadvantage and use its content to help her through this crisis, wouldn’t that truly make me just like what Nilu had said earlier!?

In that case, not only would Nilu not acknowledge it, but even Kephir herself would be unable to come to terms with it! Precisely because she was the “protagonist” in my script, I had to hold back my inner turmoil and wait… wait for the moment when Kephir would prove herself to Nilu!

I believed that moment would surely come!

The seemingly desperate escape ultimately came to an end, and soon Kephir found herself cornered in a secluded spot surrounded by trees, making it impossible to move again! The intense flames were so hot that even I could feel their heat, devouring towards Kephir! Is this… the conclusion of the proof!?

Yet in the next moment, the bright moonlight suddenly cascaded down like a torrent! Kephir didn’t even need to manipulate it; under some guiding force, the emerald light surged forth towards Nilu on its own!

And just as Nilu, caught off guard by this unexpected turn, had to redirect her attention and counter with her own fairy powers, Kephir, who had gained a moment to breathe, needed only the briefest instant to complete her final counterattack!

The leaping lightning not only destroyed the flames but also propelled the Alsace in Kephir’s hand, striking with an unstoppable momentum towards Nilu’s defenses!

“Who it belongs to is not for you to decide, nor for me, but for him to decide… What we prove is not who can obtain him, but rather… who he truly wishes to choose.”

The emerald halo gradually stained the cracks, and then in the next moment…

【Crack】

Accompanied by the crisp sound of shattering, Nilu’s body seemed to suffer a significant impact, falling from mid-air and rolling onto the ground!

“Nilu… you were wrong from the very beginning!”

As Nilu, unable to pay attention to the blood at the corner of her mouth, struggled to rise, Kephir had already appeared before her!

Everything… was over! Kephir didn’t even need to feign any sword-swinging motions! After all, the outcome between Kephir and Nilu was decided in an instant; the time Kephir had just given Nilu was already enough to “prove” her victory!

Thus, Nilu simply gave up on rising, slumping on the ground, a bit of dirt smudging her cheek, revealing a “bitter smile” of a loser that did not bring me even the slightest joy.

After all, their states were completely matched; both had used all their fairy powers; the time and place were perfectly suited, and even the greatest variable—me—had not provided any help or threat to either side during this process.

As the BOSS, Nilu lost.

This was just like the ending of every heroic narrative: the protagonist, after gradually growing stronger, ultimately defeats the BOSS they had previously struggled against in the “final showdown.” Although neither I nor Kephir felt even a hint of so-called “victory’s joy,” naturally, we didn’t even think about the unresolved content of “in the end, the protagonist kills the BOSS.”

“Nilu, is this proof enough?”

Kephir looked at Nilu with eyes that seemed to return to the past, as if gazing at her own maid.

With confusion and resentment, she asked.
