Chapter 51 Flourish and Blotts Bookstore

"Today I want to go to Diagon Alley and buy a broomstick."

The day after the dinner, Brian whispered after breakfast: "There are also textbooks for next semester, and I need to buy them too." The owl brought a list of textbooks for next semester. He had never bought Loha before. special book.

"Oh, go ahead, do you have enough pocket money?" Mr. Foley said casually while looking at today's Daily Prophet.

"That's enough." Brian smiled. It should be said that there is absolutely no money to spend.

"By the way, today is still the day of Gilderoy Lockhart's autograph signing," Mrs. Foley said.

"Don't tell me you still admire him?" Mr. Foley said in an awkward tone.

"Of course not." Mrs. Foley pouted slightly and said, "I just hope you can pay attention, Brian. Flourish and Blott Bookstore will be very messy today. In fact, it would be better if you go there on another day."

"Let's take today as it happens, Draco and the others will also be passing by." Brian smiled and shook his head.

"Do you need me to go with you?" Mr. Foley winked at him.

"No, I can handle it myself."

"That's good. Of course, you only need to buy the new Nimbus 2001 broomstick. You don't need to buy those customized ones." Mr. Foley said, "I don't think students need to use those too luxurious ones. Yes, it’s better to be low-key, otherwise it’s easy to create a sense of distance from your classmates.”

"Of course, Nimbus 2001 is actually luxurious enough." Brian nodded slightly.

Brian packed his things, checked the time, and asked Ika to take him to Diagon Alley.

He first went to the broomstick store, and the clerk welcomed him in with a smile. Draco and his father were selecting broomsticks inside. When they saw Brian, they waved to him and said, "You're here, Brian."

"Well, I think this one is good." Brian randomly selected a broomstick and paid the bill readily after finding no flaws.

"You should always choose carefully." Draco hesitated between the two broomsticks. "We can make the Quidditch team this year."

"To be honest, I don't really want to join the Quidditch team." Brian shook his head and said, "It's such a waste of time."

"Are you talking nonsense?" Draco stared with gray eyes in disbelief, "I think everyone likes Quidditch."

Brian shrugged.

"Perhaps, I can sponsor some broomsticks for the Quidditch house team. Nimbus 2001 is good. It has superior performance and is not expensive." Draco whispered to Brian, "In this way, we can definitely defeat other houses. We must fall into pieces and let the hateful Potter follow us to eat ashes!"

"Actually, you don't need to be like this to join the hospital team." Brian shook his head and said, "Your flying skills have always been excellent."

"Of course." Draco raised his slender chin, "But, I want to be a seeker. Moreover, the house team will always perform better after I join. I need to replace it with some good broomsticks." It will be more stable, although we are already the strongest."

"Dad, what do you think of this idea?" Draco looked at Mr. Lucius Malfoy who was choosing a broom.

"It's a good idea. You should make some contribution to the academy." Mr. Malfoy nodded, his tone quite agreeable, "I'm glad you have such an awareness, Draco."

Brian shrugged. He looked at the price, calculated his pocket money, and said, "Okay, I think I can personally sponsor two."

"Then I'll take care of the remaining four." Draco nodded: "But, are you really not considering joining the academy team?"

Brian smiled and said he wasn't interested.

Joining the Quidditch team meant that he would have to devote a lot of time to training, which was not cost-effective at all.

"Well, maybe you can be a substitute, they must be asking for it." Draco murmured.

After buying the broomstick, the three of them headed towards Flourish and Blotts Bookstore.

At this time, the bookstore was very crowded outside, and a long banner was pulled out in front of the upstairs window, which read that Gilderoy Lockhart's autobiography "Magical Me" was for sale signed by Gilderoy Lockhart.

As the crowd entered the bookstore, Brian immediately spotted Lockhart sitting behind the desk. He was wearing a bright blue robe, blinking his blue eyes and smiling with dazzling white teeth. He was surrounded by large photos of himself.

The three people were squeezing in the crowd, and the two smaller ones were lost in the crowd and soon separated from Mr. Malfoy.

They finally reached the bookshelf, and Brian heard Draco complaining in a low voice: "Oh, another pushy guy like Potter. Who are the Defense Against the Dark Arts professors looking for?" ." He obviously knew about this in advance.

"Indeed, this is really not a good thing." Brian took a large pile of Lockhart's works from the bookshelf. They were piled high and heavy. "So we didn't learn much useful stuff at all in Defense Against the Dark Arts classes."

Brian placed the books on the counter, paid the bill, and then swept them all into his small bag.

"Yes, I heard that this position is cursed." Draco lowered his voice, "I really don't understand why the school doesn't cancel this course, but instead allows such people..." He glanced in the direction of Lockhart, His gray eyes were full of disgust, "Come to school as a professor. He doesn't look like he can teach well."

Draco finally moved the book to the counter and breathed a sigh of relief.

At this moment, there was a noise from Lockhart's direction, and the two of them turned to look over.

Lockhart was holding Harry Potter's shoulder tightly, holding his hand with one hand, while a short reporter pressed the shutter frantically, and thick purple mist sprayed out of the camera.

Lockhart smiled with shining teeth and loudly announced that he was going to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts, causing the crowd around him to applaud and cheer.

Brian saw Harry standing next to Lockhart, his face flushed, one hand struggling to shake his hand away. He also saw the Weasley family on the other side. Their fiery red hair was very conspicuous. At this time, the short and chubby Mrs. Weasley was blushing and applauding like a little girl.

"Oh, look, this is Harry Potter, showing off like a clown." Draco said slowly and sarcastically from the side.

He saw Potter finally squeeze out of the crowd, and he walked over unsteadily. Brian sighed slightly and followed.

"You must like this very much, Potter?" Draco said sarcastically when he saw Harry pouring the book in his hand into the cauldron of the red-haired girl Ginny.

"Even visiting a bookstore will make the front page headlines." Draco said slowly, with an arrogant expression, "It's really famous."

"Don't talk nonsense, he doesn't want this!" Ginny mustered up her courage and glared at Draco.

"Oh, who is this? Potter's new girlfriend?" Draco mocked.

Brian looked at Ginny's face turning red and shook his head slightly.

Ron and Hermione squeezed in from the side, each holding a stack of Lockhart's books. Ron looked at them as if he had seen something disgusting.

"Haha, Weasley, you dare to enter the bookstore?" Draco was dissatisfied with Ron's expression, and he sarcastically said, "Your parents will go out to beg for food next month."

Ron's face turned red, and he threw the book away and was about to pounce on him, but Harry and Hermione held on tightly to his robes.

Draco looked proud and wanted to step forward to provoke him, but Brian sighed and grabbed his arm.

If Draco continues to provoke, he will definitely get beaten.

At this time, the rest of the Weasley family crowded over, as well as Hermione's parents. They didn't know what was going on. Mr. Weasley led the twin brothers and said, "It's too messy here. Let's get out."

Mrs. Weasley saw Brian, she looked away complicatedly, and stretched out her hand to stretch her clothes.

Brian saw Mr. Malfoy put a hand on Mr. Weasley's shoulder, taunting him with a sneer on his lips. He is seen taking out the worn textbook from Ginny's cauldron, and is eventually knocked onto the bookshelf by Mr. Weasley.

"Hit him, Dad!" George and Fred yelled.

"No, Arthur, don't fight!" screamed Mrs. Weasley.

"Dad, beat him to death!" Draco cheered for his father, and said slowly and mockingly: "Look, what else can the Weasley family do besides throwing fists? In other words, you still have the strength to do it. Otherwise, I would have starved to death long ago.”

Ron broke free from the two men's obstruction, ran over and punched Draco in the face, shouting: "Then I'll let you have a taste of my fist today!"

Brian had been paying attention to Mr. Malfoy, and when he saw him stuffing a notebook into Ginny's textbook, his eyes flickered, and then he quickly pulled Draco away.

Ron punched the air, losing his center of gravity and almost tripping over. He stood up straight and glared angrily at Brian.

Brian raised his eyebrows at him and stopped Draco who was about to go up and get beaten. The twin brothers were looking at them fiercely.

"Okay, it's time for us to leave." Brian whispered to Draco, watching Mr. Malfoy put the textbook back into Ginny's cauldron, "If you don't want to be treated as a joke on the Prophet tomorrow Daily newspaper."

Draco gave the Potters a hard look and arrogantly squeezed out of the crowd.
