Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#69 - Merry Christmas
“Well, you could interpret it that way.” Roger said.
Dumbledore could sense that Roger was playing with something very new.
If this method really worked, then the whole world would undergo earth-shattering changes.
But…
After a round of discussion, Dumbledore continued to flip through his notes. It took a long time before he finished the dictionary-thick notebook.
Until the last page was turned, Dumbledore took a deep breath and looked at the smiling Roger: “Are you sure your three-dimensional theory can…achieve that effect?”
Roger blinked and said: “Whether or not I can achieve the final goal, I can't guarantee. After all, this path is still in its initial stages. Many things are imperfect and need me, as well as other latecomers, to add and improve upon it.”
“But I do have some preliminary, stage-by-stage results.”
“However, I don't really like showing it off. It feels a bit indecent.” Although Roger was becoming more and more inhuman on a life level, he still maintained the ethical values of his past as an ordinary person.
This isn't something that can be easily reversed.
“Suppose, if you really want to see it…” Roger pondered for a moment.
He looked up at the sky and then continued: “We can find a deserted place in a couple of days.”
My results aren't suitable for use within city limits.
Following Roger's gaze, Dumbledore noticed that the sky had already darkened. From time to time, brilliant fireworks lit up the night sky, the colorful sparks competing to shine, as if to pierce through the darkness.
Calculating the time, the Hogwarts Christmas feast was about to begin.
“Alright, let's talk about it after Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas, Roger.”
“Merry Christmas, Headmaster Dumbledore.”
.
.
.
Roger's return was just in time, and he didn't miss the festive delicacies that the Hogwarts kitchens had been preparing for a long time.
Although this was a British magical school, the students here came from all ethnic groups, so Roger could eat delicious food from most countries in the world.
Glancing around the hall, all the students and professors who stayed at school were present.
Very good.
Before the holiday, I asked Harry and the others to go to my alchemy item storage room to pick out small objects suitable for Christmas gifts.
The gifts were given to the children I knew well early on, and no trouble occurred after a day.
It seems that Hermione, Harry, and Neville have good taste.
“Roger, I couldn't find you all afternoon. Did you really go to the headmaster's office?” Speak of the devil, Harry moved his seat to Roger's side to talk.
He had been looking for him for a while this afternoon, and later, he learned from Hermione that Roger might have gone to see Headmaster Dumbledore.
“Yes, what's wrong? Is something the matter?” Roger put down the fried chicken leg in his hand and looked over.
“It's about…my parents.” Then, Harry told Roger about receiving a special Christmas gift.
After a heart-to-heart talk with Roger, Harry made reviving his parents the primary goal of his life.
Only two people currently knew about this matter: Roger and Snape. Dumbledore only knew that Roger was guiding Harry down the path of time magic.
After Snape learned that his beloved might be revived, his whole demeanor changed. Inspired by Harry, he gained courage and chose to share everything about his past with Harry.
When Harry and Snape joined forces to fight Voldemort last night, it was precisely because of this that Voldemort's attempts to provoke them failed.
Among the information Snape shared with Harry, there were not only the mistakes Snape had made in the past, but also more detailed information about Harry's parents.
Lily's matter goes without saying.
Since Lily chose James Potter, Snape, with his personality, naturally investigated him thoroughly.
This morning, Harry received an unsigned gift: an Invisibility Cloak.
In the morning, Harry didn't think too much about it. He was busy with his Gryffindor classmates, fighting the Slytherin snakes on the snowy peaks.
After winning the snowball fight at noon and finishing lunch, he suddenly recalled something while playing wizard's chess with his friend Ron to digest his food.
According to Snape's information, the ancestor of the Potter family was one of the Peverell brothers recorded in the ancient book "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." In the legend, the three brothers each possessed an item to escape Death's pursuit.
And the ancestor of the Potter family, Ignotus Peverell, possessed an Invisibility Cloak!
So he had some doubts: Was this…a coincidence?
As the saying goes, when in doubt, ask the all-knowing. In Harry's eyes today, Roger was an existence even more 'omniscient' than Miss Know-It-All.
And Roger, as always, did not disappoint Harry.
“No need to doubt, it's the legendary Deathly Hallow. As for who gave it to you, since he doesn't want to say, I won't say much. Anyway, it's not your enemy.” Roger replied after listening to Harry's story.
“Then…will it help me revive my parents?” This was the question Harry was most concerned about.
After all, its name was Deathly Hallow, so it should have some strange abilities related to it, right?
Hearing this question, Roger searched his memories.
“Perhaps it's useful, but it shouldn't play a key role.”
This was a comprehensive judgment made by Roger based on his memories from his previous life and what he had learned in this life.
The so-called Deathly Hallows were most likely the work of the External Item faction, one of the three major limit-breaking factions of wizards, forging extraordinary objects by borrowing the will of all living beings.
If this was the case, this Invisibility Cloak most likely had the ability to shield against 'death' to some extent.
But judging from the function of the Resurrection Stone, this shielding shouldn't be very strong.
Moreover, the invisibility ability provided by this Deathly Hallow as an Invisibility Cloak was somewhat unsatisfactory.
It could only conceal the figure, but not the smell, temperature, sound, and other things.
In Roger's memory, several people had seen through Harry's invisibility.
While eating, Roger took the opportunity to tell Harry about the things that external item alchemists had tried to do to break through the upper limit of wizarding power through external objects.
“I see.” Harry revealed a disappointed expression.
Although he was only 11 years old, Harry, who already had his own life goals, was much calmer than other children. Compared to the fun of invisibility, he was more concerned about whether it could help him achieve his goals.
“But you don't need to be too disappointed. Maybe one day in the future, it can play a key role.”
Roger suddenly thought that if his path of the three-dimensional theory could go smoothly, this Deathly Hallow might be able to usher in a second spring.
