Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#133 - Snape's Elixir
The moon holds a special significance in magic and life and death. In the West, it represents the cycle of life and death, while in the East, it symbolizes eternal life.
Since ancient times, countless intelligent beings have held various complex emotions towards the moon.
And what Snape wanted to borrow was such a power.
He wanted to add more ritual content to it, just like the Animagus potion configuration in Transfiguration, to enhance the power of the potion and ultimately complete Snape's own elixir of life.
"Professor Snape, you should have heard that Nicolas Flamel will be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts this year. I think it would be very rewarding for you to have in-depth exchanges with him," Roger said very sincerely.
Snape's dream shadow still had that paralyzed, dull look, but Roger could feel him frowning.
"But his path is alchemy, and mine is potions—"
Hearing Snape's hesitation, Roger shook his head: "Although the technical details of your paths are very different, your theoretical directions have many similarities."
"Nicolas Flamel's creation of the Philosopher's Stone must have also used many rituals related to the legends of the Philosopher's Stone to assist him."
"Your elixir of life wants to borrow the power brought by the legend of Chang'e flying to the moon and a series of related legends. Many of the technical difficulties in it can be found in Nicolas Flamel's knowledge."
"Of course," Roger paused here.
"If you are not interested in directly obtaining other people's answers and want to try to completely walk your own path, to be a 'founding master,' then that's another matter."
As the saying goes, understand one law, and you understand all laws.
As long as you go far enough on the path of transcendence, you will find that no matter what system it is, everyone is becoming "more and more alike."
This is a very common phenomenon. After all, no matter how you start, everyone will eventually return to the path of eating oneself, eating heaven and earth, and eating all living beings, advancing towards the goal of omnipotence and omniscience.
Naturally, they will become more and more alike.
Whether it's alchemy, potions, or even Roger's current three-dimensional magic, they are all the same, without exception.
It's just a difference of who's methods are cruder, who's are more refined, and whose ideas are higher and more feasible.
Leaving aside all appearances, the fundamental competition in the end is still who has a deeper understanding of everything external. The so-called competition between the merits of magic and technology is completely inexplicable in Roger's eyes. Everyone is reaching the same goal by different routes. The road only has the distinction of whether it can lead to the end, not good or bad.
It just depends on who is walking this road and how they are walking it.
Leaving Snape alone in place, lost in thought, Roger walked to Dumbledore's side.
Before, because school was about to start, Dumbledore was busy with many affairs during the day, so the two of them only talked about some things superficially. Now that they have time, they can naturally discuss them slowly and in detail.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, do the Board of Governors need me to talk to them?"
When Roger talks to other people, in most cases, he first talks about the problems that others are facing and asks if they need his help.
"No need, I will handle this matter myself." Dumbledore knew that the emergence of virtual reality had allowed a group of pure-blood families, led by the Board of Governors, to see some hope for the wizarding society.
So Roger has a lot of face with the Board of Governors.
If Roger tells them that he wants to do something, it may really save a lot of time, but Dumbledore doesn't want that.
What is friendship?
You help me, and I help you. Over time, the two sides have a relationship of mutual trust. This is the most basic friendship.
Roger's last exchange with the Board of Governors made the Board of Governors very interested in Roger. For this reason, they specially and temporarily set up a department for Roger with a low position but great power, pushing him into politics.
This is completely different from the path that Dumbledore ideally wanted Roger to take. He didn't want Roger to touch those dirty political tricks.
Although those people on the Board of Governors have the name of pure-bloods, they are too accustomed to mixing in the power field and have long forgotten what a real wizard is.
No wonder they are becoming more and more declining.
In Dumbledore's eyes, these people are completely leading Roger astray. How could he allow those guys to have more contact with Roger and let the situation slide in a worse direction?
He would rather run a few more times himself and argue with the Board of Governors himself than let Roger intervene.
"Let's talk about the last thing. Many things were inconvenient to talk about in letters before. What exactly is going on with the German Ministry of Magic?"
Putting his own affairs aside, Dumbledore began to compare notes with Roger.
"It's nothing. I just slightly revealed a little bit of my form of existence in front of their Minister. Judging from his subsequent actions, he may have had some thoughts, that's all."
Seeing Dumbledore's confused and worried look, Roger roughly told him about his actions there.
"As long as they are not enemies with us, let him think whatever he wants. If there are benefits, just take them, and give some rewards in the future according to his help."
Looking at Roger's completely indifferent appearance, Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief.
In fact, as a world-class wizard who has experienced great storms, the ordinary Ministry of Magic of a country is not important in Dumbledore's eyes. The British Ministry of Magic has repeatedly invited him to serve as Minister, but he has never been moved.
What Dumbledore is really worried about is that Roger will be completely led astray by those people on the Board of Governors and start to indulge in the game of power, feeling complacent because of some calculated benefits.
That would be deviating from the path of a powerful wizard in Dumbledore's eyes.
Fortunately, all the worries were unnecessary.
Roger is still that Roger.
As long as this point is confirmed, the rest are just harmless problems.
After chatting with Dumbledore, Roger came to Professor McGonagall's side.
Professor McGonagall didn't have anything she wanted to ask, she was just a little concerned about whether he had been doing well outside these past two months.
Whether he had encountered any difficulties.
But Professor McGonagall was just worrying unnecessarily. Roger has always been the one who creates difficulties for others, and few others can bring difficulties to Roger.
"Then I'm relieved." After listening to Roger talk about many interesting things he encountered during his travels, Professor McGonagall said with a smile.
At the beginning, Roger could be said to have carried the rope of hope for a illusory idea of hers, but as time went by, Professor McGonagall gradually let go of the idea.
In Roger, she saw a kind of courage to do what she knew was impossible, which made her a little ashamed. She had actually chosen to put the burden on an 11-year-old child because of her longing for her family.
This is not like herself at all.
Clearly, the things she truly craved should be fought for by herself!
After a self-deprecating remark, before the end of the first semester of the first year, Professor McGonagall purely regarded Roger as her successor, without any extra thoughts.
"Roger!"
Roger had just finished his conversation with McGonagall, when Hagrid over there also finished his warm greetings with Harry and came over to Roger's side.
"I have a good idea to share with you!" After spending a long time with Roger, Hagrid also showed his straightforward nature.
He was originally a person who couldn't hide things very well. Human society is a bit complicated compared to giants,
He has never been very comfortable with it. He feels more comfortable being with Roger.
No need to consider those complicated things.
"Oh?" Roger showed a look of listening attentively, but he had already raised a little vigilance in his heart.
Because whenever Hagrid said "I have a good idea," it often ended in an accident.
Like the Fear Demon, the scribe green skin, and various other small things.
Roger sincerely felt that Hagrid might really have some earth-shattering wisdom!
And Hagrid really didn't disappoint Roger. His opening words stunned Roger: "Roger, your imaginary creation requires a considerable amount of 'thought' to achieve, right?"
"Yes, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing, I just wanted to remind you that in addition to humans, and humanoid creatures such as goblins and centaurs, there are many other intelligent creatures in this world."
. — ... Hmm?!"
