Harry Potter's Bastard
Chapter 474
None of the students knew what had happened in Hogsmeade, at least not until the next Hogsmeade Day. Solim wasn't going to make a big deal about it, so at most Sylna would know a little.
Hagrid reappeared at the faculty desk at breakfast the next day, and not all students responded enthusiastically. Fred, George, and Lee cheered enthusiastically as they rushed to the aisle between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables, taking Hagrid's huge hand and grasping it again. Others, like Parvati and Lavender, exchanged dejected glances and shook their heads. Harry knew that many of them preferred Professor Graplan's classes. Worst of all, he had a little impartiality in his mind that knew they had a reason: the "fun lesson" in Graplan's concept was not the kind where someone might get their head knocked out.
Truth be told, Harry wouldn't have been worried about that in normal times, but it wasn't normal times. Umbridge is here, the bad thing is that she is still the so-called Hogwarts High Inquisitor, and can judge the other professors, and the worst thing is that Hagrid doesn't take Umbridge seriously at all, and he even says that he is going to surprise Harry and them......
Not only Harry, but even Ron and Hermione hoped that Hagrid's so-called "surprise" would not turn into a fright, after all, they still remembered the last time the Hippogriff was a winged beast, and they sincerely hoped that Hagrid was not referring to that kind of "surprise".
Harry and Ron were only verbally persuasive, but Hermione was really in action, and she was even helping Hagrid prepare for the lesson. But it was clear that she had failed, and Hagrid didn't listen to her at all, still doing what he wanted.
On Tuesday, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were a little scared when they went to Hagrid's class dressed tightly. Not only were they worried about the reaction of the other classmates, they were more worried about Umbridge.
However, as they walked towards Hagrid, who was waiting at the edge of the woods, they did not see the shadow of the senior inquisitor. Hagrid's appearance was not reassuring, the purple scars from Saturday night were now yellow-green, and some of the wounds seemed to be bleeding. Harry didn't understand: could it be that Hagrid had been attacked by some monster whose venom prevented the wound from healing, as if to complete the ominous picture, Hagrid seemed to have half a dead cow on his shoulder.
"We're here today!" Hagrid said cheerfully to the students, swinging his head toward the black forest behind him, "It's a little dense! "
Ah, it's still a familiar recipe or a familiar taste...... That's what Hagrid said last time. Harry and Hermione looked at each other worriedly, they just wanted no one to get hurt right now.
"Are you ready?" said Hagrid, glancing happily at the class, "Okay. I've set aside a forest field trip for you in the fifth grade to show you how these creatures live in their natural environment. The creatures we're going to learn about today are so rare that I think I'm probably the only one in all of Britain who has tamed them—"
"Was it 'tamed' like a Hippogriff?" The Slytherin students burst out laughing, and many of them looked at Draco with bad intentions - yes, we don't mess with you, but we can disgust you.
"Of course it's tamed. Hagrid frowned and lifted the dead cow from his shoulder. "They won't hurt you - as long as you do what I say!"
"And what's your face?" asked a Gryffindor girl.
"It's none of your business!" Hagrid was furious, "Now if you're done asking stupid questions, come with me!"
He turned and strode into the forest. People don't seem to be willing to follow suit. Harry looked at Ron and Hermione, who sighed and nodded. So the three of them took the lead and followed Hagrid.
After walking for about ten minutes, I came to a place with dense forests and darkness as dusk. Hagrid thrust the half cow to the ground, took two steps back, and turned to face the class. Many of them used tree trunks as cover, looking nervously from side to side, cautiously approaching him, as if on guard against an attack at any moment.
"Close, close. "Now, they're drawn to the smell of meat, but I call them anyway because they like to hear me." "
He turned, shook his head, shook the hair from his face, and let out a strange, shrill cry that echoed through the dark woods like the whine of a giant bird. No one laughed, and most seemed too frightened to speak.
Hagrid screamed again, and a minute passed, and the students had been nervously peeking around, not knowing what was going to happen. As Hagrid tossed his hair a third time and expanded his broad chest, Harry nudged Ron and pointed to the darkness between the two rugged yew trees.
A pair of shiny white eyes grew larger, followed by a dragon's face, neck, and skeletal body, and a large, winged black horse emerged from the darkness. It looked at the students for a few seconds, flicked its long black tail, then lowered its head and began to bite the dead cow with its fangs.
Harry was relieved. Now it has finally been proven that these creatures are not his fantasies, they are real: Hagrid knows it too. He looked eagerly at Ron, but Ron was still looking out into the woods, and after a moment he whispered, "Why didn't Hagrid bark?"
Most of the students also looked around with the same confused and nervous expressions as Ron, but they just couldn't see the dark horse standing a few feet away. Only the other two seemed to see it: a skinny Slytherin boy behind Goyle watching the dark horse eat meat, a look of disgust on his face, and Neville's eyes fixed on the long, flicking black tail.
"Oh, there's another one!" said Hagrid, proudly, as a second black horse emerged from the woods, folded its leather-like wings, and bowed its head greedily to eat raw meat, "Now, if anyone sees it, raise their hand." "
Harry raised his hand, glad that he finally had the opportunity to learn the secrets of these strange horses. Hagrid nodded at him.
"Well, I know you will, Harry. He said solemnly, "And you, Neville? and—"
"What exactly are we supposed to see?" asked one Slytherin student.
Hagrid replied by pointing to the dead cow on the ground. The class stared at it for a few seconds, and a few gasped and Parvati screamed. Harry knew why: pieces of flesh automatically peeled off the bones and disappeared into thin air, which must have looked very eerie.
Most of the students retreat in horror, and the unknown always causes fear in people. Only a small number of students are still standing.
Harry was surprised to find that Neville and Hermione didn't seem to react at all.
"Hermione, can you see them?"
Hermione shook her head, "No, but I know what they are. "
Harry was a little strange, since Hermione couldn't see, how did she know?
"Solim explained it to us when school started, but you went to train that day. Neville's memory is noticeably better now, and of course, that may have something to do with the fact that school hasn't started so long.
