Game of Thrones: Lord of Winter
Chapter 192 Sunspear City
In the old palace of Sunspear, there stood the slender and tall Spear Tower and the broad and magnificent Sun Tower. The two towers set off the Sun Spear flag flying over the castle. The town surrounded by the sea on three sides sold products from all over the world, and there were quite a lot of pedestrians.
In the evening afterglow, the shadow of the entire castle was stretched long and narrow. Martell's guests were naturally not placed in the water garden.
For the safety of her uncle, Myrcella asked Ser Arys Oakheart to escort him back to Sunspear.
"Sir, how long have you served the Iron Throne?"
The arrogant Kingsguard just glanced at the dwarf. Although there was contempt in his eyes, Arys still answered: "Ten years."
"That's long enough." He investigated every Kingsguard in King's Landing, and finally he chose Arys to escort Myrcella.
Seeing that the Kingsguard seemed to have no interest in chatting, Tyrion pouted and rode silently.
With him came the squire Podrick, who was even less talkative. This would be a boring journey.
They walked into the inner city from the triple gate. Although Sunspear was not as large as King's Landing, the winding streets of the outer city were as chaotic as a maze.
Walking into the inner city, Tyrion found that there seemed to be a lot more guards on the corridors, and he saw unusual expressions in the eyes of the passers-by.
It seemed that something big happened in Sunspear during the half day he left the castle.
"We have to take revenge" he heard a sentence with his very sharp ears.
Revenge? He wondered what this meant. Could it be that Dorne was preparing to go to war with his father? No one told him what Lord Tywin was doing now, but he thought it must be difficult, with powerful enemies outside and worries inside.
There were many unfamiliar faces in the corridors of the castle. It seemed that many guests from the Martell family came. He avoided the curious eyes of those people and walked all the way back to his room.
After sitting down, curiosity instantly surged into Tyrion's mind.
How would they treat him, and what would Myrcella do? With the child's kind nature, she would never do anything to rob Tommen of the throne.
He silently added: If he is not threatened and bewitched.
Maybe these people will first kill the Lannister dwarfs as a sacrifice. As his uncle said, he has Lannister blood anyway.
He rolled in doubt until midnight. He came to Sunspear as a guest. If Dorne still knew a little bit of guest etiquette, he would not take his life, Tyrion comforted himself.
Unless it is a madman like the Mad King, he mocked in his heart.
The servants brought breakfast, a few blood oranges and a piece of bread, and of course wine.
Tyrion planned to walk around the castle. At this time, he couldn't help but miss Bronn. With mercenaries, Tyrion could let him do many things.
Scattered words could not let him know the truth of the matter, so he had to find someone to ask. At this time, Tyrion heard someone say that Prince Doran had returned to Sunspear.
Sure enough, something happened, Tyrion said in his heart. As far as he knew, Prince Lang Martell had not set foot in Sunspear for at least two years.
The news seemed to spread throughout the castle, whether it was soldiers or servants, they were talking about it, but there was no news of rebellion.
Tyrion didn't know what kind of thing could make the prince move, until night fell, he learned the whole story from a groom.
Prince Doran's eldest son died, died in Essos, died at the hands of the Dothraki.
Hearing this news, Tyrion didn't know whether he should be sad, but he thought that such news must be a heavy blow to Prince Doran.
The baby in the cradle was sleeping soundly.
Mance took him into his arms and kissed the baby's rosy cheeks with his bearded face, "He will grow up very strong."
"He drinks more milk than other children." Val said.
His eyes stayed on the child's face for a long time, and then turned to Val, "Help me take good care of him."
They will be taken to the south. Mance Rayder comforted himself that at least the child's safety can be guaranteed.
The moored boats have been prepared, and more than a dozen key members have been released with them.
Cole's boat will escort them away from Eastwatch.
The wildlings were driven to the coast, some with worried faces, and some with curses. The free people knew that something bad was waiting for them.
It was not until Mance Rayder appeared and they boarded the boat together that the suspicious wildlings began to ask him questions.
Cole did not see Mance Rayder off in person.
It was hazy at night, and Cole sat on the table and chair in the tent. The light of the candlelight reflected the shadow in his pupils, which was the towering Wall.
A pair of eyes in the mist magnified the Great Wall infinitely.
Caesar flapped his wings and floated over the sea, leaving a layer of black shadows.
700 feet high, he could easily fly over, but when Caesar looked at the Wall of Despair, the high wall had changed.
As Caesar approached the Great Wall, a fear of death arose spontaneously.
Caesar told him that he couldn't fly over it.
The white dragon circled over the Great Wall, and the instinct from the dragon made him want to fly away, but reason forced Caesar to stay. He tried to fly over the Great Wall, but the closer he got to the land outside the Great Wall, the stronger the fear became.
Cole asked him to fly south of the Great Wall and then return to the sea. There seemed to be something in the land outside the Great Wall that could threaten the existence of the dragon.
Is it a White Walker? He guessed, but what can they use to hurt the dragon? They can't really shoot the dragon down with an ice spear.
He looked at the shadow of Caesar flying by. It passed by very quickly. The darkness and the fog on the sea obscured his figure. Flying close to the clouds made it difficult for the eyes to catch his trace at night. After all, dragons don't glow like night-flying airplanes.
Balerion followed Caesar. From the perspective of the white dragon, Xiao Hei has grown up a lot.
Cole didn't know how long he had to wait for Xiao Hei to grow into a real Balerion. Maybe a lifetime would not be enough.
During the Conqueror period, Balerion, the Black Death, was already more than a hundred years old, and Cole couldn't live that long.
He read a lot of books about dragons, but most of them were written in a speculative tone.
The dragon, like its origin, left a lot of mysteries.
Anyway, Caesar is now able to join the battle, although it is not a good thing to die too early. After all, once the enemy realizes that Cole has a dragon, they will find a way to kill it.
The dragon is not invincible.
Similarly, if the dragon cannot be killed, the owner of the dragon can be killed. After all, Targaryen, who owns a dragon, is enough to ask the Faceless Men to take action.
