Cyberpunk 2074: Shadows of the Past

Chapter 99 Third Movement: March (V)

The raindrops hit the steel car body hard, making a noisy sound, waking her up from her brief dizziness.

"Jill, are you okay?" She squinted her eyes, and in a daze, someone called her name softly.

"V?" She rubbed her head and looked in the direction of the source of the sound.

The heavy rain rides on the slanting wind, pushing each other, desperately trying to get in through the slight gap in the open window.

V lit a cigarette, sat back on the car seat, opened his mouth slightly, and slowly blew out a misty cloud.

"What just happened?" Jill shook her head. Even with V's early warning, she took protective actions in time, but was still knocked unconscious by the violent shock wave of the explosion.

"Welcome to Night City...Gil." V murmured softly, puffing out smoke between exhales and inhales.

"Several explosions in a day, the situation is worse than I imagined..." Gil sighed and slumped down on his seat, realizing that the rest of his life would be shrouded in pure darkness without any light. .

"Ha, relax..." V rubbed Jill's long purple hair as a simple comfort.

"I always feel like you're not in a good mood?" Gil glanced at the burning spark in V's hand and asked softly.

"Just when you passed out, I witnessed the end of a tragedy..." V shook his head and casually threw the burning fireworks in his hand into the turbulent wind and rain outside the window.

The flame struggled for a few times and finally went out.

"Hai Ji!"

He called repeatedly to the figure sitting by the window.

The violent and lonely woman, as always, ignored him immediately.

"Go back?" Mullin scratched his head, "The rain outside seems to have lightened up a little... I have contacted the driver and he can take us back to our homes.

Hai Ji sighed, and her consciousness slowly returned from the boundless void.

"Haiji..."

This was the fourth or fifth time he called her name. I can't remember the exact number.

"Shut up, Mullin." Haiji stared out the window and said softly.

Then the noisy noise that echoed repeatedly in my ears disappeared.

"Please ask for leave for me tomorrow... I have something to do, so I won't go to work." She added.

It's like throwing a stone into a calm lake, causing endless ripples.

Mullin's mouth began to move flexibly again.

"Tomorrow? Why? Dating? Shopping? Can you take one with me? I have installed a power prosthesis..."

"Shut up." She said helplessly, and the depressed mood in her heart gradually dissipated a little, "I'm going to attend a friend's funeral tomorrow."

"Isaac?" Mullin answered subconsciously, then reacted and slapped himself hard.

"Yeah." Hai Ji responded and ignored him.

Mullin opened and closed his mouth hesitantly.

In the end, he just silently stared at Hai Ji's increasingly lonely and cold back, without disturbing her anymore.

"are you gonna sleep?"

Yahweh looked at Xi Da's figure draped in a bath towel and asked softly.

"Hmph, I want to sleep with my good sisters tonight..." Xi Da stood on tiptoes and swayed left and right.

"very happy?"

"Don't you think she's gradually becoming more sociable?" Xi Da jumped up to her boyfriend's ear and whispered in a low voice.

In the bathroom, Lucy hummed a soft melody while taking a bath.

The water droplets sliding across the skin mixed with the sound of raindrops falling outside the window, singing together.

"Yes." He responded, took a clean towel, and gently rolled up his girlfriend's wet hair.

The fingertips were gently pressed through the towel, and the silver hair was gently pressed little by little like the cool moonlight.

"Thank you for your hard work, little angel." Yahweh said softly, put down the towel and took the hair dryer from the table.

The warm wind sounded, Xi Da narrowed her eyes comfortably and quietly enjoyed this warm moment.

Only when there was only a little cool moisture left on his hair, he drove away the warm wind and hugged her tightly, her body becoming soft.

The water drops in the bathroom just stopped falling, and a man with colorful short hair wrapped in hazy mist slowly walked out wearing a bath towel.

Heda didn't know where the strength came from. He raised his hands and covered Yahweh's eyes.

"Are you doing some kind of comedy?" Lucy walked out of the bathroom and saw two people, one big and one small, sitting together in a funny posture, and asked a little funny.

"Yahweh said his eyes hurt and asked me to rub them for him..." Xida wrinkled his nose and told a lie that would be exposed at the first glance.

"I'm wearing clothes underneath..." With a touching smile on her lips, Lucy raised her eyebrows and threw the bath towel on her body into the clothes basket at the door.

"A fish is hooked." Yahweh closed his eyes, rubbed his chin on someone's head, and added softly.

"I don't care..." Xi Da glanced at Lucy's clothes, and then slowly put down the little paw that was blocking her boyfriend's view.

"No matter what?" Lucy picked up the warm hair dryer on the table and blew her hair.

"It's nothing..." Xi Tao's bulging mouth became dry again.

"Can I open my eyes?" Yahweh asked.

"Okay... okay..." Xi Da pretended to be impatient and said, resting her head on her boyfriend's chest, curling up and sitting in his warm arms.

"I'm warning you in advance, don't laugh at my clothes." Lucy said lightly, no emotion could be heard from her tone of voice.

Yahweh opened his eyes little by little, saw Lucy's clothes, and almost laughed out loud.

"Is this your own...or Xi's?" He tightened his lips, feeling that the muscles on his face were stiff from holding back.

"My own..." Lucy looked down at her fluffy pajamas, "Any questions?"

"No..." Yahweh shook his head solemnly, "I have already considered buying one for Xida..."

"Good taste." Lucy nodded, ignoring their reactions, and waddled to the bed in the bedroom.

"What is this? Lucy Rabbit?" Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Lucy lying down, and then Yahweh lowered his voice and asked the girl in his arms.

"Hehe, I recommended it to her a few days ago. It's cute."

"Yeah..." Yahweh nodded perfunctorily, causing his girlfriend to beat him in anger.

"Is there anything tomorrow?"

After a while of playing, Heda gasped and lay on Yahweh's chest, asking softly.

"Should it be okay? I don't know. What's wrong?"

"Gloria just sent a message, look." Xida took out a mobile phone from his chest and handed it to Yahweh.

"Is the school going to hold a parent-teacher meeting?" Yahweh asked in return.

"Well, keep reading," Xida scrolled down the message, "She also said that she would attend a work-related funeral tomorrow. The schedule conflicts, so she asked us to attend on her behalf."

"You mean we're going to a funeral? What do you mean by a work funeral?"

"Alas..." Xi Da sighed, "It's just a formality, saying a few nice words for a dead colleague I didn't know. It would be better if I could squeeze out a few tears..."

"It really has the style of Night City..." Yahweh rubbed Xi's drooping head, "Just go and go, it will only take a while."

"Now maybe we can hear the third movement of "Piano Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor" live..." Xi Da frowned and told a joke that wasn't funny.

I'm still feeling dizzy and in a bad state. Everyone must take precautions.
