Crimson Servant

Chapter 18 Hunters and Druids

When the trap stone door was closed, the heavy roar was like a signal. Before Jurgen and Lightning could react to the disappearance of their two companions, an ugly and hideous goblin team emerged from the dark corner. Three short, stooped evil creatures with light yellow skin looked straight at the two of them, holding up their broken scimitars stained with unknown filth, and laughed evilly and cheered. A tall figure followed closely behind these little things. The bugbear's physique made the arakkoa scream subconsciously. Not long ago, he regarded Carl as the largest humanoid creature in the world.

"Ready to fight, boy!"

After this period of time together, Lightning developed the habit of obeying orders. Even though his brain was still panicking, the Crow Feather Arrow was already on the string, pointing straight at the most dangerous prey.

"I can do it, I can do it!" He muttered silently to cheer himself up, and the Winged Ranger gave his heart to the wildness at the critical moment. The magic power wrapped around the arrow, and the lightning that sensed the opportunity struck preemptively. The arrow bypassed the shield at a tricky angle and pierced into the bugbear's calf. The pre-compressed magic power suddenly exploded like a snake that was charging, entangling the tall goblin and making it difficult for him to move.

The screams of pain from their companions did not arouse the goblin's sympathy. On the contrary, the remaining three cunning little devil-like monsters charged even more crazily. They longed for blood and heard screams, and the ferocious faces rushing toward Lightning illustrated this. At this time, the arakkoa was very calm. He pulled a fist-sized sandbag from his belt. He didn't even need to aim at such a close distance and hit it directly on the face of the goblin in charge.

The sand and dust exploded violently, but it did not stop the goblin's attack. The goblin, who was blinded by the sand and became blind, slashed at the lightning according to his original memory. The birdman couldn't hide, and the passage was not wide. The ecstatic goblin had already imagined the weapon cutting into the flesh and blood spraying on the face.

Then he was knocked away. A collision that was more fierce and tougher than his own hit him head-on in the chest. He didn't even scream. The injury to his heart that was pierced had already killed him. The flying corpse of the goblin blocked the attack of the two goblins behind him. One watched the blood of his companion erupt like a fountain, while the other put on his bow and arrow and looked at the enemy in front of him.

A strong, shaggy boar. The two sharp tusks were still dripping with blood. The wild boar grunted unhappily and shook the blood off the tusks, not wanting it to flow into its mouth.

Jurgen also cast fairy flames on several goblins before transforming into boars in the wilderness. These illusions are harmless, and the brilliant blue halo not only lights up the enemies, but also interferes with vision and causes distraction.

Lightning seized the opportunity to shoot another arrow. This time, due to lack of preparation, it did not hit the enemy seriously, but only damaged a little of the bow-bent goblin's fur. The goblin, who was in pain, planned to fight back, but the rough-skinned wild boar stood in front of the arakkoa. Looking at the ferocious beast as high as a mountain in front of him, the goblin gave up the idea.

As soon as the wild boar came closer, Lightning regained the familiar feeling of hunting in the jungle. That was when he was with the clan's tamed beast, and they became very close friends after being together for a long time. Lightning has learned to communicate with the beasts, traveling together through various complex environments, covering each other, and attacking together, like a herd of beasts.

[Use beast as shadow] status, activated.

Lightning subconsciously performed the actions he remembered, unleashing a primal rage on his beast companion. By stimulating the key parts of the beasts, it has the effect of irritating them. As a ranger, Lightning naturally knows the physiological structure of wild boars, so he takes action with familiarity.

"Roar!"

The suppressed roar of annoyance brought Lightning back to his senses, and he noticed the wild boar... The dwarf Jurgen turned back and glared at himself, with anger in his human eyes that seemed to burst out. Lightning's hand reached halfway towards that part and froze in the air. He changed his position nimbly, kept his hand speed constant, and stroked the senior's prickly mane flatteringly.

Jurgen ducked away, facing their enemy with an annoyed grunt.

The primal irritation failed, but Jurgen was already angry, so I succeeded, Lightning thought.

Not far away, the bugbear released the shackles of the entangled arrow and rushed over with a mace. Jurgen and Lightning advanced instead of retreating, and a bird and a beast joined the goblin war.

John and Karl walked out of the stone door. They smelled the smell of blood in the air and looked at each other. Karl picked up his shield and walked in front. John carefully discerned the smell of blood in the air, and his furrowed eyebrows softened, but he didn't say anything.

The two of them saw the body of the goblin lying on the ground one after another. Following the blood trail, Karl rushed over. The vision was not good in the dark, but the paladin saw a huge figure lurking in the corner. He held his breath and concentrated on the wall, slowly approaching, slowly approaching the corner, the sword in his hand shone with light, Karl nodded towards John, and quickly stabbed into the corner.

"Monster! Die... ugh!"

A long, glowing stick appeared from the corner and struck Karl in the abdomen. He knelt down in pain and received another headbutt. It wasn't until Karl was knocked to the ground that he and Jurgen discovered each other.

"You kid, why are you walking silently? I thought another bugbear came..."

Karl covered his nosebleed and complained in his heart, "You are more silent than me."

John, who was standing aside, clearly saw the process of the two ambush each other. The dwarf Jurgen took advantage of his height and ignored Karl's stab above him, proving the Paladin's false power.

Jurgen helped the paladin up from the ground, glanced at the warlock, and nodded with satisfaction, "It's good that he's not injured."

"Isn't he injured?" John pointed at Carl's bleeding nose and deliberately teased him.

"Friendly injuries are not injuries. You are a big man, just a little nosebleed. Forget it, I will stop the bleeding for you. Come closer, come closer... Damn, kneel down." The Druid mashed the ball into pieces. The crushed herbs were applied to Karl's face, and the bleeding quickly stopped, but the paladin would have a strange muffled sound when speaking.

"What a bad smell."

"It's good, the nose is still useful." The dwarf ignored him and turned around to continue counting his trophies. It turns out that this goblin team is camped in another room not far from the corner. They may have cooperated with the shape-shifting spider in the trap room, or they may simply be taking advantage of the situation to attack lone adventurers. After dealing with bugbears, Jurgen and Lightning explored their camp room and found good loot in the treasure chest.

The bugbear's body was placed by Lightning in the corner and disguised as a bait. The two lurked here and prepared to attack other returning goblins, but Carl was hit first.

"Hey, my big friend, do you want this?" Lightning dragged the bugbear's mace and shouted to Carl. He sat on the iron box that had been plundered, very excited about the return of his companions.

"No, it doesn't work."

John was pretty sure the Paladin simply felt that carrying a sledgehammer would detract from his image. He didn't know the way the herbs Jurgen gave him stuck to his nose.

"Hey Carl, you look like a big goblin now."

Lightning laughed.

Carl was just about to retort when John passed by from one side.

"Stop chatting and come help Jurgen pack his things. We have raided the camp and we have to leave quickly."

"Oh." The paladin walked up to the dwarf, helped him clean up some of the herbal materials he found, and shouldered the extra burden.

The dwarves saw everything.

"You and John seem to be on good terms, Carl."

"No, I am incompatible with evil." The paladin said firmly.

"But I will listen to his advice in the dungeon, for the sake of my oath."
