Colonial Suit

#142 - Blackmail

Blood瞳's kick was incredibly fast and ruthless. The guard captain didn't even have a chance to react before he was kicked by Blood瞳, bending over like a shrimp.

Taking advantage of the captain's bent posture, Blood瞳 followed up with a vicious knee strike to the face. A cracking sound echoed as blood splattered, and the captain's head snapped back, blood arcing through the air.

Immediately after, Blood瞳 reached out and grabbed the guard captain's face, then slammed it violently into the ground.

"Bang!" The hard metal floor caved in instantly. Blood瞳 pressed the guard captain's head firmly into the dent.

Three consecutive strikes, the movements as swift as lightning. So fast that no one around had time to react before Blood瞳 had already smashed the guard captain into the ground. But this was just the beginning. Right in front of the crowd, Blood瞳 delivered a crushing stomp.

With a "噗嗤" sound, Blood瞳's foot slammed into the captain's chest, a spurt of blood erupting from the captain's mouth, shooting over three meters high. His chest caved in, and it was unknown how many ribs were broken.

“Ahhhhhh…” Only then did the surrounding guards react, letting out terrified screams and raising their weapons.

However, as fast as they were, there was someone faster. Before they could even raise their guns, a series of gunshots rang out, “砰砰砰!” Three or four guards fell to their knees, screaming in pain.

“Don’t move… I can’t guarantee there won’t be any misfires. My Lord says, I grant you humility, but you must not mistake it for weakness,” Robbie said with a faint smile.

In his hands, two golden revolvers gleamed with a cold light. The muzzles exuded a murderous aura, sending chills down the spines of everyone who saw them.

So fast!!

Among so many people, no one saw when he drew his weapons. They only saw a blur, and the guards were already falling.

Such fast hands, such accurate shots!!

People stared in terror at Blood瞳 and Robbie. The combat power these two had just displayed was simply too abnormal. Not only had they taken down the apprentice-level guard captain in one exchange, but they were also suppressing dozens of guards with one gun each. They were definitely advanced warriors, and at least…

Apprentice-level!

At the thought of this, almost all the surrounding guards felt their legs tremble. What were they doing? They dared to surround two apprentice-level warriors. Weren’t they courting death?

For a moment, the scene was deathly silent. You could even hear everyone’s breathing.

Blood瞳 lifted his foot, looked at the unconscious guard captain, and said indifferently, “You shouldn’t have threatened me.”

“He just didn’t want to make the first move,” Robbie chuckled behind him. “This is a safe zone, and making the first move is punishable. But he didn’t expect you to be a melee specialist, so he ended up like this. If I’m not mistaken, this guy is probably a ranged-type warrior.”

A ranged-type warrior encountering a melee-type mercenary at close range? You could guess the result with your butt. No wonder he was taken down so quickly by Blood瞳.

“You… Who exactly are you people?” The well-dressed man shouted, his voice trembling.

The scene had just unfolded before his eyes. When he saw the apprentice-level guard personally hired by his father being instantly defeated, he collapsed. Without a reliable backer, he was no different from an ordinary spoiled man, exposing all his ugliness.

The guards beside him all turned their heads, pretending not to see.

Blood瞳 ignored him, turned to look at Pandora. He saw Pandora cautiously hiding behind Bo Xi, looking around with timid eyes. Noticing Blood瞳's gaze, she said softly, “Mr. Blood瞳… I… I’m fine.”

“Good,” Blood瞳 nodded, then walked towards the well-dressed man.

There were dozens of guards in front of him, but none dared to stop him. They actually automatically made way for him.

Blood瞳 walked up to the well-dressed man and stepped on his thigh. He didn't use too much force, but it still made the well-dressed man scream.

“Don’t, don’t kill me!” he cried in fear, his face covered in tears.

“That depends on your choice,” Blood瞳 said indifferently, his eyes as cold as water. “Now let’s talk about… compensation.”

“Compensation!?” The well-dressed man was dumbfounded.

The way things had developed, it seemed like his side had been at a disadvantage all along, right? This terrifying guy and those girls hadn’t even lost a hair. What was there to compensate? Did this guy not know what he was talking about?

However, circumstances were stronger than people. The well-dressed man didn’t dare to show any opposition, and just nodded repeatedly, forcing a flattering smile on his face.

“You say… You say… As long as you ask, everything is negotiable… Do you want money? How much do you want?”

“Are you rich?” Blood瞳 said with a faint smile. It was the first smile he had shown since arriving, but it made everyone feel a chill from the bottom of their hearts.

“Then let’s start with 50,000 Star Coins.”

“What!?” The well-dressed man screamed. Not just him, everyone was so frightened that they almost knelt down.

50,000 Star Coins!? Was this guy crazy!? Did he know what that meant??

An ordinary service worker earned only a few to a dozen Star Coins a month. An affiliated-level mercenary earned only a few dozen to a few hundred Star Coins per mission. Even a Meteor-level mercenary earned only about a thousand Star Coins per mission. He was asking for 50,000 right off the bat. Did he think Star Coins were ordinary currency that you could just grab a handful of?

Not to mention the well-dressed man, probably even the higher-ups of this space station, who could come up with so much money at once?

But Blood瞳 didn’t care about that. He just stepped on the man’s thigh and smiled coldly. “50,000 Star Coins, kill you if you’re short even one.”

“Don’t joke around, that’s impossible!!” Perhaps stimulated by Blood瞳’s outrageous demand, even though his life was in the hands of the enemy, the well-dressed man still shouted out of control.

“50,000 Star Coins! I can’t possibly come up with that. And no one in this space station can come up with that!! If you want that much, you might as well just kill me!”

“That’s right, this is a safe zone, you’ve already violated the rules, you don’t dare kill me! You don’t dare kill me!”

“He’s quite smart,” Robbie chuckled behind him. “But if we kill him, it’s just a penalty of 100 Contribution Points, right?”

“100 Contribution Points?” Hearing this, everyone was dumbfounded.

Did these two guys actually have 100 Contribution Points?

You had to know that Contribution Points were very rare, and even apprentice-level mercenaries might not be able to collect many. So their effectiveness was extraordinary. If these two guys really had 100 Contribution Points, probably even if they killed someone here, the Mercenary Branch would take the blame.

No wonder they were so unscrupulous!

The well-dressed man was also stunned. Then a deep fear quietly surged up, stimulating him to tremble all over. At this moment, he truly felt the approach of death. He was so scared that his legs went weak, and a warm liquid flowed out.

“N… No… Don’t kill me…”

He muttered in a low voice, his eyes vacant.

“You really can’t kill him.”

Just then, a cold voice came from outside. Then the crowd parted, and a young man in a blue suit walked in.

He had long, sky-blue hair that looked extremely elegant. He exuded an indescribable aura from the inside out. A faint sneer played on his handsome face.

“It’s you?” Blood瞳’s eyes narrowed. He said in surprise.

He didn’t expect to see this young man here…

Jules!!

The young man before him was none other than Jules, who had tried to rob them before! The genius warrior with dual abilities!!

“Why are you here?”

“Why can’t I be here? This isn’t within the Mercenary Branch’s control,” Jules sneered. His expression was indescribably disdainful. “I didn’t expect that since we last met, you’ve already been promoted to apprentice-level. Truly astonishing.”

“You should know why I was promoted to apprentice-level,” Blood瞳 replied coldly.

He had been promoted to apprentice because he had killed Crowley, the Meteor-level warrior of the Star Pirates. He didn’t believe that Jules, also a Star Pirate, didn’t know.

Sure enough… As soon as he said this, Jules’s expression changed, and a shocking murderous aura appeared in his eyes.

His murderous aura was so strong that everyone around him felt a blur before their eyes, as if they were in a world of ice and snow. Just then, Robbie, who hadn’t spoken all along, took a step forward and exuded a sunny aura, instantly diluting Jules’s murderous aura.

“Who are you?” Jules looked warily at the man dressed as a priest. Although the other party seemed harmless, Jules sensitively sensed that this priest was definitely not an easy guy to provoke. His threat level could even match Blood瞳.

“You can call me Robbie,” Robbie politely gave a mercenary salute. “Nice to meet you, I’m glad to know you.”

“Hmph,” Jules raised an eyebrow and snorted coldly. “Are you Blood瞳’s accomplice? Are you standing out to fight me?”

“No, I’m his friend,” Robbie corrected Jules’s wording. Then he replied with a smile. “I don’t want to participate in the conflict between you and him, but I think maybe we don’t need to resolve it here. My Lord’s lambs should not sacrifice themselves for unnecessary struggles.”

“You really are a qualified shepherd,” Jules sneered, but he also restrained his murderous aura.

He knew what Robbie meant. This was a safe zone, full of ordinary people, and if they fought with all their might, these people would definitely be affected.

But did he take himself for a fool? To fight several apprentice-level mercenaries at the same time? Putting aside everything else, Blood瞳 alone was enough of a threat. Jules could not forget Blood瞳’s moonlit blade from before.

Before he was prepared, Jules definitely didn’t want to face such a terrifying blade again.

“I have no interest in fighting you,” Jules flicked his long hair and looked coldly at Blood瞳. “But don’t blame me for not reminding you. You better not kill him. Because…”

“He is the son of the controller of Distant Horizon.”
