Chapter 316 – My Daughter Is Likely A Green Tea (part 5)

Her maternity leave soon ended and Li Su went back to work. Fortunately, Aunt Zhao was at home and Li Su felt more relieved.

During this time, Aunt Zhao took like a duck to water in the Su family. She fell in love with the two children of the Su family. The older one was sensible and the younger one was well-behaved. She was very happy with her children all day long. Her complexion was better and the person also looked younger.

Li Su felt that she took care of the children well and gave her a salary increase. In the end, Aunt Zhao used all the money and spent it on the two children.

Li Su didn’t know this at the beginning. When the balance was settled at the end of the month, she looked at the accounting book and found that the family’s expenses were incorrect. After checking, she found that Aunt Zhao had subsidised the spending with her wages.

Li Su couldn’t laugh or cry. She returned the money to Aunt Zhao. As a result, Aunt Zhao bought some clothes for the two children the next day. Li Su was about to give money again, but Aunt Zhao said that this was her wish for the children and it had nothing to do with her. If Li Su wanted to raise her salary again, she would not work anymore.

Li Su had no choice but to give up. She then bought some clothes for Aunt Zhao in the same way.

As a result, they went to the street the next day to return the clothes, bought milk powder and diapers for An’an, and snacks for Jingwan.

After several tries, Li Su had no choice but to accept Aunt Zhao’s behaviour. She took note of everything, and at the end of the year, she directly sent the money to Aunt Zhao’s son and specifically asked him not to tell Aunt Zhao.

But Aunt Zhao knew about it soon after and turned around to ask her son to buy a lot of toys and snacks for the two children. These were delivered to Su’s house. Her son earned a lot of money every month, and he didn’t care about the money. He was happy as long as his mother was happy.

Seeing this, Li Su couldn’t help but laugh. “Aunt Zhao, you can’t do this. You are helping me take care of the children. Instead of making money, you are giving money instead. What’s with this?!”

“I told you that I don’t want money. I like children! It’s okay, An’an should wake up in a while. I have to get An’an food.” Aunt Zhao quickly hid in the kitchen.

Li Su really couldn’t think about it anymore. It so happened that Su Jingwan arrived home. “Mum, the teacher organised for us to visit the orphanage today. There were so many children without parents. It was so pitiful. Mum, can I put the clothes I don’t wear anymore and the books I don’t use anymore to the children in the orphanage?”

Li Su stood up all of a sudden. No wonder she always felt like she had forgotten something. It turned out to be this.

“Mum, what’s wrong with you?” Su Jingwan stared at Li Su with wide eyes.

Li Su smiled. “It’s nothing. Mum just remembered something. Mum thinks that what you said just now makes sense. You can pack those items up after you finish your homework and mum will accompany you to the orphanage on Sunday.”

Su Jingwan smiled happily. “Mum, I’m hungry. Can I do my homework after dinner?”

“Of course!”

Su Jingwan put down her schoolbag, and bounced off to the kitchen. “Grandma Zhao, I’m hungry!”

“Hurry up and wash your hands. Grandma Zhao bought your favourite buns.” Aunt Zhao said with a smile.

Li Su quickly turned on the computer. She searched for the orphanage on the internet while she thought of the original plot. When did the crimes of that beast start? How could she expose his true colours? Would it be useful to write something that would report that beast?

Li Su checked for a long time before she saw in a news report that the old director of the XX Orphanage had passed away. She saw that it happened three months ago.

So, that thing that was worse than a beast was now the dean?

What was she going to do to expose the beast? She must be fast! He could not be allowed to harm those innocent children!

Li Su thought for a long time and suddenly remembered the reporter who revealed the truth of the case! It was a reporter with background, ability, and sense of justice. Because of his persistence, he finally exposed that beast. Because of his family background, he was able to escape unscathed.

Which newspaper was that reporter from? Li Su thought quickly, but the story didn’t describe this passage in detail. She only remembered that the reporter was called Jiang Bin, who seemed to be a reporter from XX Evening News.

Li Su searched for Jiang Bin’s information on the internet and finally found his email.

Li Su copied down the email.

Without further ado, Li Su decided to act quickly. “Auntie, Jingwan, I have something to do so I need to go out for a while. I’ll be back in half an hour. You guys eat first!”

After speaking, she hurried out the door, found an Internet cafe, registered a new email, and then sent an email to Jiang Bin. The email was not long. It just had one line, “Save the children! XX orphanage director XXX, suspected of using the orphans for sex transactions with the rich! I hope reporter Jiang can investigate thoroughly.” The signature was signed as ‘an insider with a surviving conscience’.

After doing all this, Li Su quickly went home.

On the weekend, Li Su accompanied Su Jingwan to the orphanage. The people in the orphanage didn’t welcome them very warmly. Li Su observed carefully. The orphanage had been completely refurbished and looked a lot more upscale.

The staff of the orphanage sensed Li Su’s gaze, and said with a smile, “Our Director Qi is a capable person. He helped the orphanage get a lot of sponsorship. The house was too dilapidated before, so we renovated it.”

But Li Su saw that the place where the children slept was similar to before. There were no signs of renovation.

After returning from the orphanage, Li Su had been paying close attention to the situation at the orphanage. She didn’t know how far things had developed, and whether she was a step too late. In any case, she just hoped that Jiang Bin could investigate quickly and save those innocent children!

It was not until two months later that the news about the orphanage hit the sky and the newspapers reported it online. They were all talking about the orphanage and people were talking about it everywhere.

Li Su carefully watched relevant news on the Internet. Jiang Bin was really powerful and quickly investigated the truth. The director of the orphanage, Zhang Zhiwen, formerly known as Zhang Wei, had a previous criminal record. He opened a kindergarten in City B three years ago and was sentenced for molesting children. After being released after serving his sentence, he changed his name and changed his surname. Zhang Zhiwen came to Q City and took over the orphanage.

Jiang Bin went undercover and investigated the orphanage for a month. He took many photos, such as luxurious private rooms, all kinds of sex supplies, and photos of various people entering and leaving the orphanage. He even had audio and video evidence. In the videos, those dirty people recklessly selected children and discussed with Zhang Zhiwen how to train and tame those children.

The content was explicit and unbearable.

Zhang Zhiwen was arrested. The orphanage was inspected and reorganised. The children were taken to other places. This incident did not end there, but instead aroused the attention of people from all walks of life to the safety of children.

Li Su carefully read the relevant news and found that there was no mention of any child victimization. She didn’t know if it was too early, or it had already happened, but just was not announced to the public to protect their identities from the public.

Li Su sincerely hoped it was the former.

Li Su was watching the news when Yang Hong suddenly patted her on the shoulder from behind. “Are you watching the news too? Is the orphanage the one you adopted Jingwan from?”

Seeing that no one was paying attention to their conversation, Li Su nodded.

Yang Hong looked scared. “Fortunately you persisted and didn’t send Jingwan back. Otherwise… How could there be these beasts?! They preyed on children! Such a person should be cut to death!”

Li Su was also happy.

“Jiang Wan, you are right. We should be kinder.” Ever since Yang Hong knew about this, she had always been afraid. It was fortunate!

Li Su patted Yang Hong’s hand and sighed deeply.

After returning home from work, Li Su looked at Su Jingwan, who was doing homework at the desk. She sat down beside her and patted her head.

Su Jingwan turned her head and looked at Li Su puzzled. “Mum?”

“It’s nothing. Is there anything you don’t know in your homework?” Li Su smiled.

“Mum, I’m not very good at this subject.” Su Jingwan pointed to a certain question in her homework book.

Li Su looked over, and the topic was like this: move a match so that the following equation holds true. The formula is: 4-1=4.

Li Su looked at the topic, then at Su Jingwan. “Is this a topic for first grade?”

Su Jingwan nodded.

Li Su felt that her mind was a little messed up. After thinking for a long time, she couldn’t come up with any clues. Just as she was about to take out her cell phone and search for answers on the Internet, Su Jingwan suddenly said, “I remembered. It’s like this.”

She lowered her head and started writing in her homework book.

Li Su looked over. She moved the – sign to the back, and it became 41=41. It was now correct.

“So it was this?” Li Su felt that she could no longer keep up with this era.

Su Jingwan smiled.

Li Su felt that she should be quiet. “Continue to do your homework!” She wanted to show her mother’s love and help her daughter with homework. She didn’t expect that homework from first grade would stump her.

In the room, An’an probably knew that his mother was back, but instead of hugging her, he hummed in dissatisfaction in the cradle. Li Su went to the bathroom to wash her hands, then hugged An’an. She then sat on the sofa and continued to watch Su Jingwan do her homework.

Many things had changed and the fate of many people has also changed. She hoped that Jingwan could live a good life in the future. She hoped that their family could be harmonious and beautiful!

Su Jingwan felt that her mother was a little strange tonight. It wasn’t until after dinner, when everyone went for a walk together, did she understand. Downstairs, she heard the conversation of the aunts. She then understood what was going on.

Su Jingwan’s face was pale. The orphanage… There was only one orphanage in Q City.

Li Su sensed that something was wrong with Su Jingwan, and quickly handed An’an to Aunt Zhao to hold. She pulled Su Jingwan aside. “What’s wrong? Are you scared? It’s okay, it’s okay. Mum is here.”

Su Jingwan hugged Li Su’s neck tightly. “Mum! I’m scared!”

“Don’t worry. Mum will protect you. Mum won’t let anyone hurt you!” Li Su put her arms around Su Jingwan. She said these words not only for Su Jingwan, but also for herself.

Now that she adopted Su Jingwan, she must fulfill her responsibility as a mother.

At night, Su Jingwan had a nightmare. In the dream, her mother abandoned her and sent her back to the orphanage because she had a younger brother. She was very unhappy in the orphanage. Later, many people came to the orphanage. They pointed at her, and some people touched her. Suddenly, a man whom she couldn’t see his face, pressed her under his body. She struggled desperately, cried desperately, and called her mother to save her!

Li Su just lay down, heard the sound, quickly got up. She hugged Su Jingwan in her arms. “Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid. Mum is here. Jingwan, don’t be afraid!”

Aunt Zhao heard the movement and came over. “What’s going on?”

“It’s probably a nightmare. It’s okay, auntie, go back to sleep first!” Li Su said while holding Su Jingwan in her arms. Su Jingwan kept calling out for her mother to save her in her sleep.

“Then I’ll put An’an into my room so as to not scare him,” Aunt Zhao said.

Li Su nodded.
