Aoba Office

Chapter 1962 Death Calls (5)

If Li Wangxi's trembling before could only be regarded as shivering, her current trembling was such that she could no longer hold the phone.

However, Li Wangxi is not really that useless.

After a brief absence, her brain finally reacted. She looked at the time and determined that she only had eight minutes left. She immediately searched online and found the insurance company's customer service number.

When he called, the system voice prompted Li Wangxi how to operate.

Li Wangxi became more and more anxious as he clicked on each item, but the results were unsatisfactory.

"There is no telephone operation method for this business. Please bring your ID card and original contract documents to our company's manual counter to handle it. To return to the upper menu, please press the asterisk key. Please hang up the phone to exit."

The electronic sound on the other end of the phone quieted down.

With a hint of luck, Li Wangxi checked the address of the nearest branch of the insurance company. It would take twenty minutes to get there, not to mention that it was not business hours at all.

More than six minutes have passed in the upper right corner of the phone screen, and there is less than one minute left for Li Wangxi.

Li Wangxi no longer trembled, but felt desperate.

She hadn't noticed until now that the whole floor had been silent since her colleague left and that phone call.

Li Wangxi only stared at the phone screen, watching the numbers representing the minute hand suddenly change.

The moment the time came, Li Wangxi held his breath.

No new calls came in, and no one showed up unexpectedly.

Li Wangxi raised his head, looked around, and suddenly noticed the strange silence here.

She looked at the computer screen, then at the empty seat next to her, nervously and carefully checking her surroundings bit by bit with her eyes.

She had realized something was wrong and confirmed that she had met a certain ghost king.

She has no regrets. It should be said that she can't think of regrets now, she just wants to live.

The quiet nurse's station and the floor buzzed with alerts.

Li Wangxi was so frightened that she almost jumped up and turned her head. It took her a while to realize that the sound was the ringtone she heard every day.

A pop-up box popped up on the nurse's computer screen, which was the bed number of the previously comatose patient.

This seems like a normal job, but how can Li Wangxi work normally now?

She waited for the pop-up window, listening to the harsh ringtone, and froze in place without moving.

"What are you doing?"

Li Wangxi was startled again, and when she turned around, she realized that her colleague was back.

It seemed that everything was back on track. There was no one in the corridor on the floor, but there were sounds coming from the ward. You can hear the sounds of people talking, washing, and going to the toilet.

Li Wangxi stared at this scene blankly.

"I said, you are like this... we are the only ones on the night shift today." Li Wangxi's colleague sighed.

An additional pop-up window appeared on the screen.

"Is your boyfriend okay? And the transfer just now...either call the police and find someone to cover the shift now, or just go to work." Li Wangxi's colleague advised. After saying that, she glanced at the screen and said, "I'm going to No. 18..."

"No, I'll go to No. 18!" Li Wangxi said first.

No. 18 is the bed number that popped up before.

Li Wangxi's colleague glanced at her, slightly dissatisfied, but still accepted the assignment and went to check on the comatose patient.

Li Wangxi's legs were still a little weak, but there were already people around her, so she gradually calmed down.

She looked at her phone and saw that the call history was still saved.

Li Wangxi felt that the phone had become extremely heavy, making her unable to hold it.

She opened the drawer, stuffed her cell phone in, got up and hurried to the ward where bed No. 18 was located.

It was a triple room, not a single room like mine.

All three beds were occupied, and there were two accompanying family members.

Bed No. 18 is at the innermost position by the window. The patient on the bed looks to be in his thirties or forties, his face is pale and his body is dripping with water, but he does not seem to be a burn patient.

Li Wangxi walked to the hospital bed, pressed the call bell, and then looked at the medicine bag hanging above the hospital bed.

The potions in there are almost gone.

"Bed No. 18, Wang Weisheng." Li Wangxi squeezed the bag of medicine, prepared to pull out the needle, and explained the situation to the patient, "This is your last bag of medicine today. It will be gone today."

After saying that, when he didn't get an answer, Li Wangxi lowered his head and looked over.

She had calmed down by now and was only thinking about her work. She lowered her head when she didn't get an answer. This action was done without thinking.

The patient lying on the bed had changed just now, and even the entire ward had changed.

When Li Wangxi looked over, he saw a skeleton.

She screamed in fright and was about to retreat, but the hand she let go was entangled.

The bag of potion had turned into a poisonous snake, tied Li Wangxi's wrists, and hung her on the support.

Li Wangxi struggled and cried loudly.

With a brushing sound, the curtain next to the hospital bed automatically pulled up, sealing off this area.

The fluorescent lamp is in the center of the room, and only part of it shines on the bed at the edge.

Eerie lights cast shadows on the curtains.

Li Wangxi stared at the snake in horror, struggling desperately, but because of this, he could not stand steadily. All the strength of his body was pressed on his wrists. His feet stepped on the ground and could only keep rubbing, unable to grasp the point of strength at all.

The snake attracted all Li Wangxi's attention.

The skeleton on the bed turned its head at some point and looked at Li Wangxi with empty eye sockets.

It raised its hand, the quilt was lifted, and a sickle stretched out. The skeleton sat up, the sheet wrapped around its body, slowly turning from white to black.

With such a classic image, anyone can guess what it is.

Li Wangxi felt even more horrified.

She screamed at the top of her lungs, forgetting how to pronounce "help" and just cried.

The skeleton didn't move very fast, and the snake didn't attack Li Wangxi.

The cold sickle blade gradually came close to Li Wangxi's neck.

Li Wangxi's struggle caused wounds on his neck.

Just the cold air cut Li Wangxi's skin, and the blade had not yet touched Li Wangxi's body.

I looked at this scene coldly, and I was very sure that this skeleton was not tangible.

There wasn't even any yin energy in the room, it was all actually an illusion.

If I tried to stay rational, I could even see two completely different scenes in my eyes. One is what Li Wangxi sees from his vision, and the other is what my own soul sees now.

In the end, the skeleton just put the sickle on Li Wangxi's neck.

Li Wangxi no longer dared to struggle at this time.

"Deal, or death?" A strange sound came from the skull's mouth, and another clear voice appeared in Li Wangxi's brain.

Li Wangxi was trembling, feeling the pain in his neck, and couldn't answer at all.

My heart skipped a beat, and I suddenly understood what this thing was going to do.

"Deal, or death?" The skeleton put its face close to Li Wangxi.

The snake got into the skull's cloak and emerged from the skull's eye socket. The scarlet letter gently touched Li Wangxi's cheek.

"Deal! Deal! I'll give you money! I need some time. I'll go and withdraw the money tomorrow! Really! Please let me go! Please... wuwuwu... don't kill me..." Li Wangxi's Emotions are on the verge of collapse.

The skeleton's mouth continued to make weird sounds, as if there were many people talking and discussing with each other inside its body.

The skeleton made a human voice and said unhurriedly: "Exchange other people's souls for your soul. This is your last chance."

As soon as the words fell, all illusions disappeared.

Li Wangxi saw that the ward had returned to its original state. She was standing beside the bed, holding the medicine bag. The weak patient was lying on the bed.

Goodnight everybody.
