American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#84 - Nick: Is this the cosmic raceโ€™s legend level +1?

"Human bodies are too fragile." Venom shifted its position on Luke's hand, using the communicator Luke had created for it to express its feelings.

It had become quite familiar with Luke in the past few days. Although it had a nasty personality, it was good at assessing situations. After being suppressed by Luke several times, it had become much more obedient. At least, it had begun to accept its new identity.

A lab rat.

Well, it was a lab rat, but the 'rat' part was a symbiote.

Although the process was a bit difficult, Luke treated it quite well, apart from the experiments. It was very satisfied with the customized rations Luke provided. It was the first time it had learned that customized synthetic rations were so great! It didn't have to rack its brains and control the host to do things that secreted its favorite emotions. It only needed to tell Luke its favorite "flavors," and then it could enjoy delicious rations.

Venom even wanted to bond with Luke because it thought Luke's brain was a high-quality brain with a great taste, very attractive to it! These days, it had been trying to persuade Luke to let it enter his body, including guaranteeing that it would be obedient, protect Luke's safety, and make Luke a superhuman with powerful combat and healing abilities, and so on.

Unfortunately, Luke's attitude towards its enticements had always been, 'You say yours, I do mine.' But as long as it dared to drill into his body, little Habu would explode fiercely. Venom had been burned black by Habu more than once or twice. Now little Habu had a big opinion of it, and always wanted to set it on fire when it saw it.

For example, now, even though it was obediently like a lump of mud, letting Luke manipulate it, little Habu still had a small eye exposed on the skin of Luke's right wrist, staring at it fiercely without letting go.

"Ding ding!"

"Your phone is ringing. No, don't call that smart system, I can do it!" Venom eagerly popped out a black tentacle, stuck the phone more than two meters away, and pulled it back, thoughtfully helping Luke click to answer the call, and held it up to Luke's ear.

"What's the matter, Director Fury?" Luke frowned when he saw a black charcoal head appear on the phone. He recalled in his mind what kind of dealings he had with Nick Fury recently? The final answer he got was that this black-hearted guy had promised him symbiote test subjects, but he hadn't sent them over yet! "Could it be that you finally remembered that you still have two symbiote test subjects that you haven't given me?"

"Don't worry, Luke." Nick's face remained unchanged. "You have to let us study this alien life first. Also, you need to give me some time to quell the internal discontent."

"Ha, those idiots are being researched to the point of wishing they were dead." Venom laughed gloatingly, just like the quiet ridicule it gave him when it first saw him.

"Who's talking?" Nick frowned.

"Can I talk to him?" Venom behaved cutely.JPG.

"Of course." Luke nodded.

Then Nick discovered that the face on his phone screen, which was originally Luke's, had been replaced by a hideous face as dark as a different species.

"Congratulations, your organization is going to be famous among the symbiote groups in the entire universe." Venom grinned, looking terrifying, but in fact, anyone could see the excitement in his tone and expression, not minding the chaos.

"What do you mean?" Nick's heart skipped a beat when he heard this. He heard something wrong in the words of this symbiote.

"The symbiote group has its own information network! Every symbiote is in this network! These days, I've heard those guys constantly scolding you, frantically rendering your terror and stupidity. Although they are all bad guys, in the symbiote group, your organization is already half blacklisted," Venom said with a smile.

It liked to exaggerate the severity of some problems and then watch others worry and fear about it. This was its pleasure! However, it hadn't enjoyed this kind of pleasure for a long time these days. Luke didn't buy into it. And now, it had successfully obtained this long-lost pleasure from this black charcoal head. The only pity was that the other party was a little far away from it, so it couldn't taste the emotions he was producing at this time properly.

Nick's already dark face immediately turned darker.

In other words, without him knowing, the SHIELD he led had offended a cosmic life group? According to the characteristics of this group needing to bond with hosts, wouldn't the forces in the universe that had established cooperative relationships with them also be indirectly offended? Thinking of this, Nick almost lost his composure!

Although Nick didn't know whether what this symbiote said was true or false, from the fact that the other party knew that SHIELD had conducted some inhumane experiments on those symbiotes these days, what the other party said was still credible. The only thing that Nick couldn't determine was whether the symbiote really had that group information network and could communicate across the universe.

If this was true, then the value of the symbiote would undoubtedly increase a lot.

As for SHIELD becoming famous among a few civilizations in the universe through the symbiote's information network?

Nick expressed that he was very wronged!

The Kree came, we studied the Kree. Nothing happened.

The Skrulls left corpses, we studied the Skrulls, and still nothing happened.

The symbiotes came, we just started conducting research, and then something happened?

Can he be blamed for this?

Besides, he wasn't the only one doing the research! Wasn't Luke also conducting research using symbiotes as experimental materials?

But looking at the free and relaxed symbiote on the phone screen, and then thinking about the five symbiotes who were heavily imprisoned and strictly managed in his own laboratory, Nick had to give up his illusions and recognize reality.

"What exactly do you want?" Luke pressed Venom, who still wanted to say something, back onto the lab table, and asked, looking at Nick's black face on the screen.

"A big lizard is jumping around in your city, don't you want to take care of it?" Nick collected his mood and asked Luke rhetorically.

"What does that have to do with me? That should be a problem for SHIELD and the government to worry about. What do you think I am? Spider-Man who fights crime? Or Iron Man who wears a suit to attend social gatherings and happens to be a hero on the way?" Luke raised his eyes, showing a sneer at Nick's behavior of wanting to freeload his help with rhetoric.

"Okay, a symbiote!" Nick raised his hands, first giving the reward, "This city is your territory! You don't want to see it destroyed, do you? We found two of Dr. Connors's laboratories in the sewers and obtained some information from them. You don't need to help with other problems, you just need to help improve this slightly incomplete formula, and it would be even better if you can make a serum after improving it!"
