American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#83 - Gwen and Peter's Night Talk [First Order]

Of course, Luke didn't believe that Venom would really be so obedient, but he could accept it being obedient for the time being.

Days passed, and Luke's daily routine consisted of eating with Ilena, taking calls from Nick or Stark, and immersing himself in his lab, utterly engrossed in researching Venom. Of course, he also had to care for the physical and mental health of the other two little guys. He didn't even have time to focus on the city's new darling, Spider-Man.

...

Gwen Stacy had always been the envy of her friends. She had a good family, a father who was the police chief, a loving mother, and two adorable younger brothers. She was also extremely outstanding, with a friendly personality, excellent abilities, a smart mind, and academic achievements comparable to the most unpopular bookworms on campus. Most importantly, she was extremely beautiful!

She was practically the template for a privileged daughter of heaven!

Even before going to college, Gwen was already able to intern at a giant corporation like Alchemax, accumulating experience through part-time work and study. In everyone's eyes, Gwen was a winner in life, destined to have no worries or sorrows.

But Gwen knew in her heart that things weren't always as others thought. She also had her own worries and sorrows, but she couldn't confide in her friends about these things, except for her boyfriend, Peter. Because they wouldn't understand!

Just as everyone envied her imposing police chief father, no one could understand that from childhood, she watched her father put on his badge, load his gun, and leave for work every day. God knows how worried she was about her father's safety when she saw news reports of shootings, sensational deaths, or dangerous criminals in the community.

Outsiders only envied his position and saw his glory, but his family only felt worry and hoped he would come home safely every day.

Now, today, Gwen Stacy found that there was another man whose safety she needed to worry about!

That was her boyfriend, Peter Parker!

The city's new hero: Spider-Man!

Also the source of her father's recent busyness and frustration!

She remembered a few days ago when Peter came to her house for dinner, these two men she cared about most had a fierce debate about Spider-Man's actions at the dinner table. Peter performed brilliantly that night, leaving her father speechless. She had rarely seen her father at a loss for words in his profession. But she also knew that her father was a stubborn old man, and even if Peter left him speechless, he wouldn't easily change his mind.

After all, in her father's eyes, Peter was smart, but too young, only 17 years old, still a minor.

But no matter how fanciful Gwen was, she never imagined that Spider-Man was Peter Parker!

No one knew how surprised she was that night when Peter's web stuck to her, and he took her to lie on the web to watch the night sky.

No one knew how panicked she was when she saw Peter covered in blood in her room tonight!

"Quiet, help me!"

Gwen covered Peter's wound with a towel, calling out to Quiet, who was resting inside her, with a tearful voice.

The girl's intense emotional fluctuations and calls awakened Quiet from her slumber. She seeped into Peter's body along Gwen's arm, complaining, "The little guy only knows how to be a hero and show off! I'm not a medic! Next time something like this happens, you better ask the caretaker Luke for a few self-healing potions! Anyway, I know it's cheap for him to make one."

Peter Parker looked at this scene in surprise. He felt that there was another life in his body, a voice constantly complaining in his mind.

"What is this?" Peter felt his injured body healing quickly under the influence of some magical power. His hand moved Gwen's hand holding the towel away from his wound, and he saw that the previously bloody and gruesome wound was covered by a layer of gray skin. This layer of gray skin covered almost his entire body, and his skin color, including the Spider-Man suit, was dyed gray except for his head.

"Symbiote!" Gwen explained simply, then looked at Peter seriously, "What exactly did you encounter?"

"I hurt Dr. Connors!" Peter began to tell the story dejectedly, "I shouldn't have given him my father's formula. I thought it would help him! But the result turned Dr. Connors into a ferocious lizard! The doctor was too anxious. Even if Oscorp stopped his research, he could find other investors."

"This is not your fault, Peter! This is not your responsibility!" Gwen comforted him. Just like she had seen her mother comforting her father when he was sad about the death of a subordinate.

"I have to stop him! The doctor is crazy now, he wants to turn this city into a lizard city!" Peter shook his head, "If he isn't stopped, there will be more victims. Thank you, Gwen, I feel much better! I wouldn't have been able to go back home with all these injuries. I don't want Aunt May to worry."

"Let Quiet follow you first." Gwen suddenly said, looking at Peter who wanted to get up and go back.

"Don't even think about it! I didn't even choose Luke! I definitely won't stay on this stupid and annoying guy. His head is a mess, and the taste of his emotions is too terrible to swallow." Quiet revealed her head and protested, "If you insist, then I'll choose to run away from home! I'm going to stay in Luke's lab for a few more days! Until you change your mind!"

"No need, this was really just an accident. I can protect myself! The city is full of dangers now, and you'll be safer with her on you." Peter also rejected Gwen's suggestion. He had already felt the boost that Quiet gave him, and he thought it would be best to keep her on Gwen to protect her. As for him? He doesn't need it!

"Then how about this, if you act again next time, you must call me! With Quiet, I can protect myself, and maybe I can help you! Quiet always says she's very strong." Gwen grabbed Peter's hand, looked into his eyes, and demanded. And Quiet took the opportunity to return to Gwen from Peter's body.

"Okay." Feeling the girl's grip on his hand was so strong that it even hurt, and seeing the girl's firm gaze, Peter's heart softened and he agreed. As for whether to call her when the time comes, he'll see.
