American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#8 - Kurtuluo [Part 1] Please read and collect

The sky was gloomy and dark.

Low-hanging, black clouds hinted at an approaching storm.

A loud alarm blared along the coastline, echoing far into the distance. Many people living and playing near the coast received alerts on their smart devices. Those who didn't see the alerts understood what was coming from the piercing alarm! Over the past decade, countries had developed some preventative measures against Kaiju attacks, although these measures were often delayed and uncertain in their effectiveness against sudden attacks.

People in the alarm zone immediately fled for their lives. Those with transportation rushed towards their vehicles, while those without were urged by the official personnel patrolling the coastline, using loudspeakers, to run towards the designated shelters.

The distant sea churned with surging waves, as if a massive creature was about to rise from beneath the surface. The next moment, amidst the screams of terror as people scrambled to escape, a towering, gaunt, gorilla-like monster with jagged horns emerged from the sea, lifting its massive head. Its heavy, mountain-like body parted the waves, its footsteps pounding the ground with earth-shaking force as it rapidly approached the coastline.

Tons of seawater splashed around like rain as the colossal beast appeared. The dark clouds in the sky seemed to descend even lower. From afar, the Kaiju's height seemed almost to touch the dark clouds.

True to form for a giant monster's entrance, this Kaiju began by violently destroying nearby buildings, demonstrating its destructive power and contributing a little business to the construction companies specializing in post-disaster reconstruction.

Even though the specially stationed troops nearby arrived as quickly as possible, facing the Kaiju that had already landed, they could only try to attack it with their weapons to attract its attention while arranging for personnel to cover the retreat of the panicked civilians and clear the battlefield. However, this newly appeared Category IV Kaiju, named 'Hodad' by the PPDC, possessed extremely strong defenses. Even the specialized anti-Kaiju weapons they used only managed to enrage it, causing it to roar in pain and become even more violent.

Buzzing!

The roar of engines grew louder from afar, merging with the Hodad Kaiju's roar.

Beneath the dark clouds, sixteen heavy transport helicopters, carrying two enormous metal giants with their own engine-driven BGM, made a grand entrance.

As they approached the battlefield, the ropes suspending the two Jaeger from the sixteen helicopters detached, and a red and a black giant humanoid mecha crashed to the ground, sending up a spray of water dozens of meters high in the shallows.

The red one was Crimson Typhoon, a fourth-generation Jaeger with three arms.

The black one, with sharp, angular metal blocks all over its body, especially the two large pectoral muscle-like metal plates on its chest, looked like a powerful martial arts expert—Gipsy Avenger, a third-generation Jaeger. Its construction style and supporting operating system were completely martial arts-oriented.

Sensing the threat, the Hodad Kaiju turned around, looked at Crimson Typhoon charging towards it, roared, opened its large mouth, which glowed with energy, slammed its strong and powerful arms on the ground, and instead of retreating, charged towards Crimson Typhoon as well.

Buzz!

Swish!

Crimson Typhoon's three arms, with the twisting of its body, swung flexibly. Three high-speed rotating circular saw blades slashed across the Hodad Kaiju's chest and back in the nick of time.

Scalding, highly toxic blue blood spurted out of the wounds.

"Did you feel that?"

"The armor is so strong."

"Be careful, don't be reckless before we find its weak point."

Crimson Typhoon's three pilots, triplets, tacitly sensed each other's thoughts under the neural handshake system, and became more agile in the next moment.

PPDC Headquarters.

Shatterdome.

"The situation is not good. This Kaiju's armor is too strong, it's very difficult to inflict fatal damage. In a short time, Gipsy Avenger and Crimson Typhoon probably won't be able to resolve the battle smoothly." After receiving the data transmitted back from Crimson Typhoon's system, Dr. Geizler, the PPDC's chief Jaeger technician, gave a not-so-good answer in just a few seconds.

Hearing this, Marshal Stacker Pentecost, who was watching the battlefield projected on the virtual screen beside him, became even darker, and his expression became even more serious.

The battle continued.

Gipsy Avenger, with its martial arts master system, was almost frantically delivering heavy punches to the Hodad Kaiju. The two behemoths seemed to have lost their minds, harming each other back and forth. However, the Hodad Kaiju's armor was obviously extremely high. Although Gipsy Avenger's punches made it roar in pain many times, it never fell.

What made Gipsy Avenger's pilots even more frustrated was that the Hodad Kaiju's strength was as outrageous as its armor! Even if they dodged five times, just one hit from it would give them the feeling of being knocked away, even with the steel spikes fixed in their feet, and the shock was really terrible! If it weren't for Gipsy Avenger's armor strength also being up to par, and if it weren't for Crimson Typhoon repeatedly relieving the siege in times of crisis and inflicting multiple injuries and threats on the Hodad Kaiju, they would have almost thought they were going to die in the previous minute of thrilling battle.

However, even now, even though the Hodad Kaiju on the opposite side looked like it was injured in many places, with hideous wounds, the pilots of the two Jaegers did not feel much relief in their hearts, but were extremely heavy.

On the PPDC side, Dr. Geizler clearly reminded them again that the Hodad Kaiju's vital signs had not weakened, which meant that the damage they had painstakingly inflicted, although seemingly tragic, had not actually harmed the opponent's weak point. In other words, although they seemed to be standing on the upper hand, they were actually at a disadvantage. If they couldn't resolve the opponent as soon as possible, no one could be sure what accidents would happen next.

After all, facing a new Kaiju is a huge unknown risk. Especially when they don't know if the opponent has any unique abilities! After all, based on past few experiences, as a Category IV Kaiju, it is likely to have some unique abilities!

...

"Commander, the Maritime Government has sent a communication, requesting permission for a new Jaeger to access the PPDC's Jaeger combat system and participate in the battle."

At PPDC headquarters, Dr. Geizler, whose eyes were scanning back and forth across the various virtual displays, was quickly processing the various emerging data, categorizing and organizing it. Suddenly, his pupils widened, and he exclaimed with some surprise and incredulity.

"New Jaeger? Hasn't the Jaeger program been without subsequent funding to build new ones since four years ago?" Stacker Pentecost was shocked when he heard this and quickly asked, "I have never received any project applications or notifications from them regarding the construction of a new Jaeger!"

"It's Shao Industries!" Dr. Geizler quickly opened the information and projected the text into the air.

PS: There is no picture of Kaiju Hodad. There are two pictures of Shaolin Ranger, one is made by a fan, and the one that comes out when you search Baidu is him. The other is a more flexible orange series, which I found on Baidu Encyclopedia. The one made by the fan is selected here.

PS: If anyone wants a picture, you can say it at the end of the chapter, if someone wants to see it, I will see how I can post the picture... or the reader can post the picture themselves.
