Like Doctor Strange, Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, was also experiencing a dark period in his life. He was a Ravager.

In his native tongue, Ravagers were essentially thieves, pirates, and robbers – a group of wanderers scavenging in the dark corners that major civilizations either couldn't be bothered with or didn't want to get their hands dirty in.

They typically took on tasks from the black market, handling unsavory problems for civilizations and powerful figures, or participating in wars as auxiliary forces.

Due to the wars between civilizations and the chaotic, insane universe, the Ravager groups, even if they weren't prominent, were still a force to be reckoned with. Of course, most of these somewhat famous Ravagers had bounties on their heads in various civilizations.

Star-Lord had left his Ravager group, wanting to strike out on his own. To that end, he took on a particularly challenging but extremely well-paid mission through his Yondu Ravager group.

To help a mysterious buyer find a magical Orb.

When it came to finding things and scheming, Star-Lord had always excelled. He spent a lot of time gathering information, then deduced the location based on the information he had, pinpointing the era and final location like an archaeologist.

Hard work pays off. After wasting several years, he finally found the Orb's final hiding place.

A planet that once had a civilization but was now ruined. The planet's crust seemed to be constantly undergoing violent activity, with frequent tremors and geyser-like water eruptions.

The Orb was located within an ancient temple-like ruin on the planet. The passage of time had rendered the former defenses ineffective, leaving only the core device used to store the Orb still barely functioning.

So far, everything was going smoothly.

But when he saw the Orb, everything went wrong.

A group of armed forces found the planet where the Orb was located almost simultaneously with him and clashed with him. But it didn't matter; with his intelligence, he easily turned danger into safety. He not only tricked those 'colleagues' but also snatched back the lost Orb. Before they could react, he boarded his ship and shot out of the atmosphere.

Star-Lord wasn't surprised to encounter competitors while searching for the Orb. After all, the reward for this mission was so generous that it was natural to have many competitors. Just before Star-Lord broke through the atmosphere and reached the nearby jump point for a space jump, he saw another team emerge from a space jump.

Looking at the style of the mothership, it seemed somewhat similar to the Chitauri fleet, but the appearance was distinctly different, making it look strange and out of place. However, Star-Lord didn't have time to take a closer look; he left in his ship's jump.

Get the Orb, hand it over to the mission target, get his reward, and then wander the universe and live a free life.

This was Star-Lord's plan. But the Orb seemed to be cursed; whoever got it would be unlucky. He brought it safely to the nearest black market trading point on Xandar. He contacted a black market trader.

Then the trouble came. He was inexplicably cut off from the deal, kicked out of the exchange, and inexplicably encountered two groups eyeing the Orb, resulting in a fierce encounter within Xandar. In the end, all three parties were captured by Xandar's military and thrown into the infamous Kyln prison, built inside a shattered asteroid belt.

They became friends through fighting. He established good relationships with several inmates who had been captured and thrown in with him, including a green-skinned woman named Gamora with a complex background and agile skills; a rare, tree-like alien species that only spoke 'I am Groot'; and a talking, raccoon-like creature with memories, calling himself Rocket, who liked to invoke some god, an unnatural life form.

As well as a burly inmate nicknamed Drax the Destroyer, who had reportedly been in the Kyln prison for many years.

Star-Lord used his intelligence to connect this scheming team and brought them together to act together for a great goal.

Escape from prison.

Find the behind-the-scenes buyer and sell the Orb in his hand.

Then take the money and split it up, and everyone can roam the universe freely.

Star-Lord's proposal was strongly supported by Rocket Raccoon and Groot, who clapped their hands separately. Drax the Destroyer didn't care about the money, but he was very interested in Ronan's men that Star-Lord mentioned. After learning that Ronan was also looking for the Orb in Star-Lord's hand, Drax, filled with a desire for revenge against Ronan, joined Star-Lord's prison break team almost without hesitation.

As for Gamora, she wanted to prevent her adoptive father, the master of the dark quadrant, Thanos, whom all civilizations in the universe dreaded, from obtaining the Orb.

They got together to discuss a detailed plan, but later found that as long as they worked together, the hope of escaping from prison was unexpectedly high. Rocket Raccoon's ability played a significant role; he could transform mechanical objects into various weapons and equipment, as long as he understood the corresponding technical principles.

In his words, all his money was spent on buying various technical blueprints and knowledge. Star-Lord even listened to a whole set of rants about the black market's black heart and his own heartache for spending money like water.

Groot's hobby was planting trees. Rocket translated that Groot wanted to buy his own planet and plant all kinds of trees on it.

"I can take care of the weapons. Although these materials aren't great, they're still a decent alloy. The only flaw is that we need energy," Rocket patted the metal walls and metal beds of the cell.

"I need my mask," Drax said in a muffled voice.

"Your what?" Star-Lord was recording everyone's requests and using his clever brain to figure out how to achieve them. But Drax's request stunned him.

"Mask!" Drax repeated in a deep voice.

"I know you're talking about a mask, but how does it help our prison break plan?" Star-Lord spread his hands.

"It has great power and can make me stronger," Drax replied concisely. He hadn't touched his mask for a long time, but he could still feel its existence. It was in this prison! Quietly stored somewhere.

That was his hope for revenge!

"Okay, mask. What about you?" Star-Lord looked at Groot.

"Groot!" Groot leaned down and patted Star-Lord on the shoulder.

"What did he say?" Star-Lord smoothly lowered his head and met Rocket Raccoon's eyes at his feet, looking for a translation.

"He wants energy water, but never mind him! I haven't been able to get that stuff for a long time," Rocket shrugged.

"What about you?" Star-Lord finally looked at the silent Gamora.

"I'm fine with anything. I've been through harsh training since I was a child. I can use any weapon, and I can handle any situation," Gamora said indifferently.

"Then let's first find a way to get energy for Rocket. I think those security robots are good, what do you think?" After Star-Lord understood everyone's needs, his brain quickly locked onto the target.

"I can hack into the system and paralyze the prison for a while. You guys take the opportunity to act," Rocket habitually said while praying. Groot followed suit, gesturing. Star-Lord and the others were used to their appearance, or rather, they had become accustomed to it these days.

...

Kree Necrocraft Mothership.

"There was an accident, Ronan," Korath the Pursuer of the Kree knelt at the feet of the mothership's commander, Ronan, covered in wounds. "All our men were wiped out."

"Just a group of Ravagers, are they really that powerful?" Ronan, who had just undergone gene re-engineering, redrew his eye markings and said coldly.

"Not Ravagers, it's that group of crazy Godslayers!" Korath raised his head and met Ronan's gaze, his face and eyes still filled with intense fear.

"Godslayers?" Ronan, and Nebula, Thanos's other adopted daughter besides Gamora, a half-human, half-mechanical cyborg, both frowned. Ronan took a step forward, leaned down, grabbed Korath's neck with one hand, and asked with emphasis.

"Yes, it's the Translator and Lyttari! They ambushed us in the sky with their team, and all our men were wiped out," Korath said with a struggling expression, trying to say what he wanted to say.

"Why didn't you die?" Ronan threw away Korath, whose face had turned red from lack of breath, with a disgusted expression. "The Korath I know isn't such a frightened coward."

"That's because I need him to bring a message to you."

Korath's voice suddenly changed its emphasis. Ronan the Accuser suddenly turned around and looked at Korath, whose expression had become calm and whose pupils were flashing blue light.

"Translator? Or Lyttari?" Ronan looked at Korath and asked softly. At the same time, he gently held his weapon, the Universal Weapon, in his hand.

"Does the name of an individual really matter so much? If you have to be sure, then please call me Translator," Korath said softly.

"Thanos's Black Order is searching for you all over the universe, and you dare to appear in front of me," Ronan had the Universal Weapon in his hand, and his tone was much tougher.

"Why wouldn't we dare? The Black Order is not to be feared, we do not fear them, nor do we fear Thanos behind them. We only serve our God. God needs the Orb," Korath [Translator] was not moved by the name of the Black Order, nor did he change color because the Black Order was looking for them, he just said calmly.

"The Orb belongs to Thanos," Nebula took a step forward, a short dagger popped out of her hand, bent over and pressed it against Korath's throat.

"Do you know what the Orb does?" Ronan was curious about the Translator's words, he gently pushed Nebula away with the Universal Weapon, stood next to Korath, and asked closer.

"A huge energy source, the heart of God's Apostle," Korath [Translator] gave an answer, his expression with a fanaticism like a zealot.

"I heard you used to be a member of the Chitauri?" Ronan frowned and took two steps back.

"We were indeed once members of the Chitauri, but now, we are also Godslayers liberated and blessed by God. We are God's weapons, servants, and tools. Just like the parts and machines manufactured under the Maker's command," Korath [Translator] said.

"Listen, I don't care what your God is, nor do I care about your group of Godslayers. What I care about is destroying Xandar. Thanos can help me do it, so he is my partner. I just need to find the Orb for him and bring it to him, and hand it to him," Ronan held the head of the hammer to Korath [Translator]'s nose: "Whoever hinders me is my enemy. If you really want to get the Orb, then you can wait until I hand it over to Thanos, and then you can ask Thanos for it yourself."

"Disrespecting God is heresy! But God is generous and realistic, He doesn't care whether you are respectful or not," Korath [Translator] ignored the Universal Weapon handed to him and said with a pious expression.

"Anything else to say? If not, then get out of Korath's body," Ronan turned the Universal Weapon in his hand with some annoyance, and powerful energy was about to burst out of the hammer head.

"Thank you very much, I have already obtained the information I wanted!" A look of surprise and satisfaction appeared on Korath [Translator]'s face, and he left Korath's body before the energy wave hit him.

Looking at Korath, who was blown away dozens of meters by the energy wave and slid a long trail on the metal deck, Ronan withdrew the Universal Weapon in his hand with a grim face. He suddenly turned his head and looked at Nebula: "Check whether the mothership has been invaded."

Nebula was startled by Ronan's ugly face, and quickly performed a search and query of the mothership's system according to the permissions granted by Ronan. In the end, she did find traces of intrusion.

"What are they looking for?" Although Ronan already had a guess in his mind, he still asked the question.

"Information about the Orb, and information about Star-Lord Peter Quill appearing on Xandar to sell the Orb, and being captured and thrown into the Kyln prison," Nebula said hurriedly. The former Chitauri, who call themselves Godslayers, have a unique talent in virtual intrusion and spiritual erosion, and they can always obtain the information they want in their own way.

"Start the mothership," Ronan said with a gloomy face.

"Where to?" Nebula raised her head and asked.

"The last place the Orb appeared. Kyln Prison. We must get there before that group of Godslayers! Also, notify the Black Order and tell them that the Godslayers have appeared! Let them deal with these troubles!" Ronan snorted coldly, strode to his seat and sat down, waiting for the mothership to make a space jump.
