Chapter 38 Conjecture
Chapter 38 Conjecture
Linde shrank himself into his robe and walked quietly behind Jane.
Whenever Jane stood a little closer to him, Linde's heartbeat could be heard.
"simple!"
Hermione's voice came suddenly from behind them. Then Linde heard hurried footsteps coming from behind.
He turned his head to look over, only to see Hermione trotting towards him, and he jumped aside in fright.
"Where did you go, I've been looking for you." Hermione didn't expect that Linde would take the initiative to let her go. According to this person's temper, isn't it because others make way for him?
She turned her head and gave Linde a suspicious look. Then ran straight to Jane.
"Where did you go?" Hermione took Jane's hand freely. "I've been looking for you for a long time. I was persuaded by Mrs. Pince within a few minutes after you left the library."
"As a result, you disappeared as soon as I came out. I thought you went straight back to the lounge, but I didn't see you when I went to the lounge." Hermione rambled.
"I..." Jane was about to reply, but Linde also spoke beside her.
"Jane! I suddenly remembered that I still have something to do." Linde's voice was thick, as if he was enduring some pain.
"You guys go back first, oh yes, give me the book..." Lin De was about to reach out his hand in his pocket, when he suddenly thought of something, his fingers gestured in his pocket.
Sure enough, the palm webs also came out.
"Give it to it!" Linde gestured to Andersen.Andersen rolled his purple eyes aside.
Although it doesn't know what happened, but what its boss says, that's what it is.
It flapped its wings and flew in front of Jane, beckoning Jane to give it the book.Linde looked at Andersen, and suddenly thought of the bird in the sky in the story.
To be honest, the plot of this story is really not good, but every time Linde thinks about it, he will feel a sense of palpitation and fear for no reason.
Jane looked at Linde suspiciously, making sure he was not joking.
"I really have something to do." Looking at her puzzled expression, Linde could only emphasize again.
"The curfew is coming soon, what else can you do!" Hermione looked at Lind.
Lind looked at Hermione and thought to himself: Is this any of your business? Are you going to say "You're going to get Gryffindor points deducted for doing this."
He is fine!He admitted that this was what Hermione would have said in her first year, after all Harry and Ron's several night walks after the Invisibility Cloak had been severely disapproved by Hermione.
But what does that have to do with me, I'm so annoyed right now.Linde could feel the sweater rubbing against his gills, but he couldn't reveal it with all his heart.
But he's not the kind of person who would lose his temper at others.
"I just have some..." Linde was interrupted by Hermione before he could finish speaking.
"We can help if you need anything." Hermione looked at him seriously.
Linde was taken aback for a moment, he didn't expect Hermione to say such a thing.
His own words were also blocked, and Hermione's words made him lose his temper, so he could only shake his head and reject her. Then he looked at the book held on Jane's chest.
Jane handed the book out, and Andersen's claws grabbed the spine of the book and flew back to Linde's side.
He withdrew his hand and hid the book back in his sleeve robe.
"I'll go first!" After finishing speaking, he hurried to the other side.
He wore a hood and hid himself in darkness along the way.
"He's so strange! What did you guys do before?" Seeing Linde walking away, Hermione asked curiously.
"I don't know why he is like this, we just... just read the same book together." Jane recalled what happened just now, and she remembered that Linde was a little weird from the moment she closed the book.
"Reading together? That one just now? Why do you read such a small book together? Are you reading it face to face?" Hermione seemed to have thought of something, and her tone became teasing. She looked at Jane with her eyes tilted on purpose.
"What? No." Jane blushed instantly, but when she thought that there seemed to be a magic wand between the two of them just now, it was Linde who cast the fluorescent spell.
My face seemed to be leaning on his hand all the time, as if I almost put my head on it when I got to the back.
Thinking of this, she suddenly blushed.
But I can't blame her, that novel is full of typos, scars and large-scale scribbles and changes, it's tiring to read, okay?
She couldn't even understand how Linde watched it with gusto.
---------
After turning the corner, Linde hurriedly found an empty classroom and walked in, then leaned against the door to block it.
At this time, he could barely feel a little relaxed. Before he was outside, he only felt that people passing by were looking at him strangely.
Linde took off his hood, threw the book on the table casually, and pulled down the collar of the sweater inside to feel more comfortable.
"Fortunately, my hair is long and thick." He murmured in a low voice, touching his ear with his right hand.
My ears were completely different from the normal ones. There were sharp bony spurs growing on the outer ear wheel, and a thin fleshy membrane was attached between the bony spurs.
Linde locked the door of the classroom and rummaged through the podium.
With luck, I found a pair of mirrors.
"Fluorescent flashes!"
The tip of the stick glowed white, and with his other hand he picked up the mirror and looked at his ears.
I saw that my ears no longer looked like human ears, but turned into fish fin-like shapes.
"Hey! Fortunately, it's long hair, otherwise Jane should have noticed it just now." When he noticed that his gills came out, he felt something strange in his ears, which was why he put on the hood.
Linde sighed helplessly, then put down the mirror again, and looked at the book he just casually threw on the table.
"Is it just reading a story and then 'transforming' uncontrollably! Or is there another reason?" Linde thought about why this book had such an impact on himself.
"The spell stops!" Linde waved his wand at the book to release the spell, but nothing strange emerged.
"Is it because there are no magic spells on it or because my spells are not strong enough." Linde looked at the little blue book lying quietly on the table solemnly.
"And why am I the only one who has this kind of unconscious change, and Jane doesn't?" The reason why he took the book from Jane was because he was afraid that the book would be borrowed, and some tragedies that no one wanted to see would happen as a result.
"Could it be aimed at any 'non-humans'? It might just be aimed at 'murlocs'.
Thinking about it on the other hand, in fact, I just grew gills and other things uncontrollably, which is not completely a bad thing.
Or is it because it is only useful for "Murlocs"? Linde considered various possibilities in his mind, and finally, as he focused on his mind, his gills, webs, and fin ears gradually returned to normal human form.
During the period when his body was gradually recovering, he thought of many blind spots.
Maybe my changes have nothing to do with this book, maybe it's a manifestation of "the puberty of the murlocs", just like I grew ear fins again this time.
In other words, my "transformation" may be related to emotions. I was shocked after reading that article, so I unconsciously turned into a murloc.
Or I have become more sensitive, which may be related to air humidity.
He sorted out all the possibilities of becoming a half-mermaid.
Seeing that he had returned to a normal human state, he carefully picked up the book again, and then pushed open the door of the classroom.
I have to go to the Room of Requirement tonight to test my body.
Along the way, he always felt that he still had some blind spot that he hadn't noticed, but he couldn't remember it over and over again.
"It's probably just me thinking too much." Linde could only comfort himself in this way in the end.
"After all, as a half-murloc, it's normal for me to have many strange things on my body."
He was inexplicably sure that he was the half-blood orphan of human and murloc.
