Chapter 17

The wizard Binns's magical attainments were not ideal, but he was still given a teaching position at Hogwarts for the simple reason that he was very old, well-read and knowledgeable, and had a superb memory.

A lot of history is nothing more than his own personal experience for him.

So when Hogwarts was founded 1000 years ago, he began to serve as the history of magic teacher here.

Until one day, he forgot to bring his own body when he went to class, and he stepped onto the stage as usual, only to find that the students did not bury their heads and start taking notes as before.

Instead, start staring at him. This made Professor Binns very happy, and more and more students became interested in the history of magic.

Then, however, the student started screaming and pointing at him.

Professor Binns thought he was wearing the wrong clothes, and looked down, only to find a gray translucent shadow.

"So I'm dead..." Professor Binns said the first words after he became a ghost.

Professor Binns calmly told the little wizards in the audience: Death is not the end, but the beginning of another great adventure. The little wizards in the audience agreed, it was terrible, we still have to go to class after the teacher died.

Professor Binns, who became a ghost, did not give up his educational career, but instead became an everash tree in the Hogwarts teaching team.

Professors and students came and went, and he was the only one left.

Now, including the time he was alive, he is already 1000 or [-] years old.

Time and repetition will kill people's curiosity. Professor Binns has lost interest in everything. He has a lot of wonderful historical materials and stories, but he is more and more fond of reading textbooks and starting to teach according to the textbook.

Ghosts don't need to sleep, but they still get tired, so when there are no classes, especially at night, Professor Binns still likes a ghost lying in front of the fire in the faculty common room and pretending to doze off.

He was tired of ghosts floating around through the walls, and nothing could disturb him pretending to be asleep as a ghost.

But today was different. Lying there, Professor Binns always felt strange noises, like footsteps, but no one could be seen.

It's like a ghost again, but you can't hear the whirring sound of ghosts passing through.

Certainly not Peeves, Professor Binns knows Peeves' secrets, so Peeves always avoids him.

Back and forth many times, constantly disturbing Professor Binns' rest, Professor Binns did not find a figure once, so he guessed it was a ghost.

"What the hell are you?" When the strange voice came to mind again, Professor Binns couldn't help but floated into the air and began to question.

Still no reply.

Professor Binns began to observe in circles in the air, but found that these footsteps had been behind him, as if deliberately avoiding him.

Professor Binns was suddenly a little scared in his calm heart. He couldn't help but think of the ghost stories his mother told him when he was a child. Some ghosts will follow behind you. You can only hear footsteps, but you can't see them no matter how you look back...

He suddenly began to hate the memory he was once proud of, why is it so good, it can't even remember things from 1000 or [-] years.

Binns Cuthbert, an old professor who has lived for 200 years and has been a ghost for nearly a thousand years, actually began to suspect that he had run into a ghost.

Professor Binns came to the safest place in his memory, the door of the headmaster's office of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Witchcraft, but he heard more footsteps, he plunged into the wall, and finally these sounds disappeared.

After some storms, Binance Cuthbert finally found his calm again. He decided to rest in the walls of the principal's office from now on.

On the other side, in Gryffindor Tower, another ghost is similarly haunted.

Nicolas de Mimsy-Porpington, commonly known as Nearly Headless Nick.

Nick's head can be described in one sentence as almost gone, but there is still, and there is, but only a little bit.

He was a good person when he was a human, and he was also a good ghost when he was a ghost, but he didn't get any rewards.

When he was a wizard, he was beheaded and executed by the lord who discriminated against wizards because of a simple medical accident.

The executioner's ax was so blunt that he received 45 blows in total, but even so a little bit of skin and tendons remained attached to his neck.

Nick wanted to insist on waiting for the executioner to chop off his head before he died, "either do it or do it well" is the motto of the Nicholas family.

His head was about to fall off, but he tried hard not to die, waiting for the executioner to use the blunt ax to chop off his head completely, just so that he could be a complete headless ghost after death.

But the executioner lost patience before him, and he sloppily completed his task without even checking that Nick's head was completely chopped off.

He did a job like beheading extremely rough, and Nick said that he suffered a huge amount of physical and mental damage.

He understands better than other living people or ghosts what it means to cut flesh with a blunt knife and hurt more.

Unexpectedly, the world of ghosts after death hurt him again and again like a blunt knife cutting flesh.

Apply once a year to join the Headless Horseman, get rejected once a year, and every time the reply is "You are still close, and always close.".

It took him five years to figure out that this was a pun meant to sicken himself of being almost headless.

The bloody Barrow had threatened him many times, and Nick was terrified in his heart, but on the surface he wanted to pretend to be brave and show his aristocratic demeanor.

Now the sound came to torment him again.

Nick covered his ears with his hands, but it didn't help. The ghost's hearing has nothing to do with the ears.

There was no figure, but there was a sound. Nick immediately confirmed that it was Peeves.

Only Peeves, a bad guy who can be a body or a ghost, can do such a thing.

"If you can't cure the bloody Barrow, you can't be cured?" Headless Nick was completely aroused, and he decided to go to Peeves to settle accounts, and then told every little wizard the spell to deal with Peeves.

"I was hacked 45 times, and I was refused to join the Headless Hunting Team. Now Peeves, you dare to disturb my rest. You are looking for your own death."

With anger, Nick began to walk through wall after wall, looking for Peeves.

All the ghosts of Hogwarts encountered strange things that night. Some heard strange footsteps, and some saw a shadow flashing past.

Several timid ghosts, although they are ghosts themselves, always suspect that they have run into ghosts.

The next day, the Hogwarts students found the usually mild-mannered Nearly Headless Nick running through the castle chasing Peeves.

Once a little wizard asked about the situation, Nick told them that there was a spell "Wadi Vasi" that was specially used to deal with Peeves.

The little wizards of the second grade ushered in the History of Magic class early in the morning.

This class was so boring that it was usually used by most people to catch up on sleep. Even Hermione would find it boring, and just patiently took notes out of her desire for a high score.

It’s just that today’s Professor Binns seems to have turned into a ghost, telling the big events in history like a story, and talking about many opinions from the perspective of his own experience. And interspersed with many small stories.

These are all things that have never happened in the past, and no one knows why, Professor Binns seems to have regained the enthusiasm and curiosity that had been lost for thousands of years.
