Chapter 2 The Resentment of the Dead
A classmate who was killed by a werewolf 18 years ago is still alive.

It was hard for Peter to believe this was true, because he had witnessed the bloody murder, and the hideous scar on Snape's body also proved that the Screaming Shack incident was not Peter's fantasy.

He still remembers the bloody nightmare, the first scene he saw after crossing into "Peter Peddie Road".

Through Peter's memory, he knew that the original Wormtail Peter had been trampled to death by the werewolf Lupine in the chaos.Poor Wormtail wanted to turn into a mouse to escape, but he lost his life because of it.

Under the moonlight, New Peter, who had just traveled through time, witnessed a tragedy.

He saw Lupine the werewolf tearing at Snape's abdomen frantically. At this moment, Snape had already fallen limply on the ground, his whole body was bloody and bloody, without a sound.

Then, James rushed over desperately, hugging the terrifying werewolf from behind, trying in vain to separate them...

From that day on, Snape never appeared again.

Sirius and Remus dropped out of school because of this incident, and only Peter and James, the former "predators", continued to complete their studies under the shadow of the murder.

After time travel, Peter awakened his incomparable magical talent, and even Professor McGonagall was impressed by his new talent in Transfiguration.

In 1978, Peter graduated as Head of the Boys' Body, rejecting the flood of offers for senior positions and opting to join the Order of the Phoenix.

At that time, it was a dark age in the British magic world. The Dark Lord was more powerful than ever, and the number of Death Eaters was 20 times that of the Order of the Phoenix.

The Dark Lord was also very interested in Peter's talent, and he promised money and power to invite Peter to join the ranks of Death Eaters.

Peter made an extremely heroic decision. He pretended to join the Death Eaters and pass information to Voldemort, but in fact he was always serving the Order of the Phoenix.

He became a double agent.

Since then, he has lived a precarious life every day, and has experienced all kinds of bloody killings than the Screaming Shack incident.

Until 1981, Peter managed to obtain information about a Death Eater gathering. The Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix ambushed in advance, annihilating Voldemort's forces in one fell swoop, and Voldemort himself died in this battle.

After the war, Peter was awarded the First Class Merlin Medal for his outstanding service and became a savior in the magic world.

Against the background of his turbulent adult life, the Screaming Shack incident had been far from his memory until Severus Snape appeared in front of him.

Peter looked at Snape's profile and thought, until Dumbledore's cheerful voice interrupted his thoughts: "Well, it's getting late now, and you should walk into class tomorrow refreshed. So hurry up Go to bed!"

After speaking, Dumbledore sat down.

The sound of tables and chairs moving in the auditorium rang out, and the students stood up and walked towards the hall, chatting excitedly about the Triwizard Tournament and the two new teachers. (I'm afraid Hermione Granger is the only one whose focus falls on slave labor.)
With a blank expression on his face, Snape slowly walked around the table and sat down on the empty chair beside Professor McGonagall.

But Peter dared to say that Snape gave him a deadpan look when he passed by.

After 18 years, the "resurrection" of an ordinary classmate is a little scary at best, and maybe a little touching.

But it is almost a disaster for a classmate who has forged a deep hatred to "resurrect" with scars and hatred.

On his first day on the job, Peter already regretted taking over the teaching position.

He would rather teach the troll to dance "Starry Night" than work with Snape.

Snape picked up his knife and fork and began to eat. His black traveling cloak was covered with dust and dust. It seemed that he had come from far away, so he didn't bother to eat.

The teachers stood up and greeted Dumbledore before leaving the table to rest.

Peter also intended to hurry up and leave before any conflict with Snape occurred.

He didn't want to stay for a second, but just delayed for 30 seconds just to see with his own eyes if Snape could eat.

He really couldn't believe that a person who had been disembowelled by a werewolf could still live. Even in the wizarding world, a werewolf's bite was difficult to treat because of its cursed effect.

Now that the iron-clad facts were before Peter, this Snape was really alive.

Professor McGonagall on the side was also looking at Snape with a complicated expression.

Peter knew that Professor McGonagall was also one of the few people who knew the ins and outs of that incident.

Peter stood up and said goodbye to Dumbledore.

"Wait a minute, Peter, I have something to talk to you." Dumbledore said gently.

Peter guessed that Dumbledore probably wanted to talk to him about Voldemort, but he had no choice but to sit down again helplessly.

Dumbledore turned his face away and continued to pay attention to Snape who was eating.

As always, Dumbledore was warm, welcoming and courteous, and he kept bringing Snape's full plate of food and enthusiastically recommending his favorite pie (custard praline) .

Peter saw Snape's left hand clearly now, half of it had been torn off, only the thumb and index finger were left.

Maybe it was because of the memory of the original owner, Peter never liked him, but the moment he saw this hand, he couldn't help but thump in his heart.

Soon, Snape finished his meal, and Dumbledore enthusiastically conjured up some pumpkin juice for him to drink.

He coldly rejected Dumbledore's kindness, took out a water bag from his arms, and took a few sips of the liquid in it.

Dumbledore's blue eyes searched.

"This is the diluted wolfsbane potion." Before Dumbledore could ask, Snape answered the question first.

Hate flashed in his dark eyes, and he glanced meaningfully at Peter.

"You know what I am, and how I came to be," he said hoarsely, resentfully:
"A benevolent principal who allows werewolves to come to school."

"A group of faithful friends who wandered around with werewolves on a full moon night."

"Oh, just another funny joke, Sirius Black told me it was fun at the Screaming Shack, and of course, I know you're all in for it, it's fun, it's fun."

He sneered a few times, glanced over Dumbledore and Peter, and finally landed on his crippled left hand.

"This incident is a tragedy," Dumbledore's blue eyes drooped. "To be honest, I'm really guilty..."

He took a breath and continued: "After that accident, I got a lot of yelling letters every day, people accusing me of putting werewolves in the school."

"Every time I've been abused by Howler letters, I feel a little bit better because I deserved it. But, Severus, all those letters combined aren't as comforting to me as your miraculous survival."

"However, what makes me feel guilty is definitely not letting Remus go to school. If I had another choice, I would still invite him to school, but this time I will take good safety measures and fulfill my responsibilities as the principal—— "

Snape interrupted Dumbledore: "So you're still showing your mercy by allowing that werewolf to kill people?"

There was a lot of resentment and sarcasm in his tone.

"Please don't interrupt me," continued Dumbledore affectionately, "a man is not what he is, but what he chooses."

"Remus Lupine was the gentlest and most upright man I ever met - please don't interrupt me to finish - and I never regret having him educated."

"Just because a person is a werewolf, can he be considered soulless? Can a person be turned away just because he is a werewolf?"

"So today, Severus, I have another werewolf for Hogwarts," Dumbledore gestured towards Snape, "I trust you will prove me right."

After delivering this speech, Dumbledore looked directly at Snape with blue eyes, as if waiting for Snape's response.

Snape and Dumbledore looked at each other, with deep hatred still shining in their eyes.

"Alas." Dumbledore stood up and sighed, breaking the silence.

He walked around across from Snape, pulled a chair and sat down, then he slowly extended a hand, carefully wrapping Snape's left hand on the table.

Snape was on his side, leaning on the table with his left arm, and turned his face in the opposite direction, but he didn't pull his hand back.

Looking at the crippled hand, Dumbledore looked sad and his eyes were moist.

"Severus, can you tell me how you survived all these years?"
